Volkan Aquila
<blockquote><b><i>"I don't think anyone would tolerate getting so wet from the likes of me."</i></b>

<b>"Heh,"</b> the onyx yearling chuckled, throwing her dark-coated counterpart a shrug. Indeed, Volkan was pretty much drenched. Fine, but completely soaked. Her chest rose and fell with the strength of her breaths as she regained her composure. She shook her coat quickly, leaving her fur matted in some places and sticking straight up in others. Volkan was aware that she looked completely ridiculous while wet, like some sort of oversized mouse— but for now, she didn't care at all what she looked like. Her full attention was focused on Triell. She watched him shake the water off too, enjoying the cool feeling of the water droplets he sent flying in her direction.

At his question she shrugged again, this time drawn-out as if stretching her shoulders. The yearling rolled her head from side to side; her muscles felt good getting some use, being so out of practice. <b>"Yeah I know, not the <i>best</i> idea,</b>" she admitted at length, icy eyes briefly focusing on her previous perch before finding Triell's once more. <b>"But— I dunno. I just wanted to relax, I guess. How could I not, in a place like this?</b>" Slowly she waded back and forth, as Volkan seemed to enjoy pacing during conversation. Besides, the last few moments' interaction had left her brimming with energy, and running into a familiar face, namely this particular one, elevated her mood even more.

<b>"I should ask <i>you</i> what you're doing here. Shouldn't you be hanging out around your pack, or something?</b>" Volk swiped at a small silver minnow with a forepaw, but in a flash it disappeared, and instead she sent a small splash in his direction... maybe accidentally, maybe on purpose.</blockquote>

<i>ya, a post! getting some muse going with time to put it to use. </i>

when i look at the stars i feel like myself

.A quiet chuckle hummed in his throat before it died to an even quieter hmm at her response. He wasn't sure if her short response meant she would be getting even or not, and his orange eyes gave her a sideways glance before skipping to the bottom of the pool. She did not strike back, but casually rose her shoulders giving a worded reply. Head titled, an ear swayed in her direction, eyes studying each expression, and motion the girl made. His own muslces were taunt beneath his hide, waiting for another thrown shot of water. It didn't come, not yet. He actually studied the location better, as if to see why it would be so relaxing. The simple whisper of the breeze against the needles of the trees with the quiet break of water was a mellow melody. The forest he wasn't sure why it smelt so different, but it was a sweet scent, soothing. Though he wasn't sure if he was smelling what might have been Volkan too. Ears twisted back as he broke from his quiet moment, seeing her pacing. "It is a nice spot," he agreed catching her gaze. Quickly his snout lifted heavenward taking in a patch of blue sky.

Her question lingered for a moment, and he swallowed before lowering his chin to answer. He was hit with a squirt of water."I," but his words on his lips turned to a cough as some drops had caught up his nose. A good sneeze, and a large suction of air he could finally answer her. Arched eyebrows he stalked forward, shrugging his shoulders like she had trying to push the akward moment aside. "My brother's a dad now, and the pups are still to little to play with. There really isn't anyone else to "hang" with. Gets boring any way, staying in the same spot, staring at the same place," He walked a little closer, tempted to splash her again. The same minnow swirled at his ankles, and he stared at it for a second than looked at her, a quiet question lingering in his orange eyes. Are you going to get that?

Volkan Aquila
aaaaand a month later ._. sorry sorry
<blockquote>Volkan watched Triell inch closer, anticipating it with the beginnings of a racing heart. Yet he kept his distance, and she smiled to herself, secretly glad for the small wave of relief that gave her; not once in this moment did she question <i>why</i> he made her nervous like this. The feeling was foreign to her. She glanced up at him, still smiling serenely. <b>"Well, I'm glad you're here,"</b> she admitted honestly, her tail swishing beneath her in the water, sending a few silver minnows darting around, freaking out at the strange, huge creatures invading their space.

Volkan pretended to be way more interested in these than she actually was. But after a few seconds of silence she realized there was a silence, and immediately broke it. <b>"You know,"</b> she went on casually, <b>"'Cause I'm always in need of someone to startle me. Otherwise, next time I'm just laying here minding my own business, it won't be you, it'll be a bear."</b> She chuckled, genuinely glad that it hadn't been, and climbed out of the water in a single motion, shaking her coat of the water so that it stuck out in odd places and thinking about what he'd just told her. It was at this point that she remembered he'd mentioned puppies.

<b>"Wait, Indru's your brother, right?"</b> she asked, hoping she had the name right. Sometimes she was bad with those. <b>"That's crazy! He's a dad— well, I mean, it's awesome. Your pack must be proud."</b> Now she stood at her previous resting spot atop the rock, and knelt to a sphinx position, watching him, imagining little Indrus chewing on his ears.</blockquote>

<i>it's all good, we could probably wrap it up here?</i>
when i look at the stars i feel like myself

Dark lines of his lips rise in a sleek smile upon her words. He wasn't sure why that made him feel happy. He was geniunely a happy guy, but this time the smile had been instant. He felt odd with it on his face, embarrassed somehow? He couldn't explain it, and forced it to stay trying to get over this foregien feeling. He shuffled his weight between his large paws, first looking to the minnows she seemed to be stuyding. "Me too," he replies quietly, a couple wags of his thick tail to back up his words. If anything he does like this girl with the pale blue eyes despite whatever else he ws feeling. He holds his tongue as she continues, his ears lifted up attentively. Quickly he can't help but give an amused snort, and roll his topaz colored eyes. A bear? Eat you? I think he'd have to catch you first, which is not very easy.." His smile was much more a smirk now as he held a steady gaze upon her, hooked by those light blue eyes.

His head bobs at her question, and he studies her for another brief second before staring down to the darting minnows. It was weird Indru was a dad, but Triell had always figured it would happen. It was weirder it was with Cori, but pretty cool at the same time because he couldn't imagine them without the other. The lad definately felt lucky Cori was his new sister, because she just fit in with the rest. He lifts his head, smiling his wide smile. "Ya, Swift River is pretty happy their here now," his smile droops into a frown. "Speaking of which I probably better head back." His neck bends and he looks in the distance behind him really wanting to hang out some more. It's time to go home.

His head quickly turns back, and another ear splitting smile is on face, "But, I promise I'll come bother you again sometime," he says happily wagging his tail. He trots from the water to her perch, and gives her a playful nudge with his snout. His eyes meet hers one more time so she might know he it wasn't gammon. Suddnely he turns heal, and picks up a quick lope, headed for home.

<blockquote><i>"Speaking of which I should probably head back."</i> At these words Volk felt her heart sink; she didn't want Triell to leave, even though she knew she'd probably run into him again soon. She'd be drinking from a river, or stalking something, and he'd come along and bother her once more— except, they both knew it wouldn't exactly be bothering. She met his smirk with one of her own, tail thumping the ground behind her idly as she sustained her disappointment.

<b>"I'll be looking out for you this time,"</b> she responded, accepting his nudge with a somewhat surprised expression and quickly shaking her head as though his touch had cooties; a playful snap of her jaws chased his heels as he turned to leave, but she found herself laughing as she missed. As their eyes met, she felt something she wasn't quite sure about— but one thing was clear: she liked it. It made her heart flutter. Lopsidedly, she grinned at him like the young rogue she was, tail sweeping the stone ground behind her.

After he left, she hopped to her feet, watching the spot in the trees where he'd departed to ensure that he was gone. <b>"Bye, Triell,"</b> she said to herself, halfway a sigh, before happily bounding through the water and out of the clearing on the other side.</blockquote>
