Craw
Sorry for the delay on this, guys, and thanks to Arla and Pinn for jumping in so quickly <3 @Lorcan @Greer @Celandine - don't worry too much about posting order I guess?

And then they promptly appeared, like the good little minions they were. He was beginning to take their responsiveness for granted - a trait he expected from the wolves of any good, well-functioning pack, something he had missed until coming here. Celandine's excuse for a greeting was met with a soft snort, acknowledging her comment while also dismissing it. So was she.

To business. Craw tossed his head at where Lorcan had seated himself, more out of instinct than anything; the darkness hardly made physical gestures all that useful to communicate right now. "Lorcan met a wolf called Askan out in the lowlands - who is the loner I was with when taking that caribou calf." He'd made no secret of the encounter, but it had been trivial at the time, so he had hardly placed much significance on it. "From the sounds of things, he may have allies, and he was very much alone when I met him, which means he's since met wolves who live nearby. If there is going to be another pack on the lowlands, or if they have already settled, I want to know about it." It was hardly the first time he'd sent them off for information, and they were both sharp, they didn't need it spelled out. "Once we have a bigger picture, I'll visit them myself, but the man knows me - I don't want to put their backs up too early." Perhaps they would catch the hint of darkness in his tone, the but I'll be happy too if necessary when the time comes. "Lorcan. you will show them where you went, where you found him."

Lorcan listened carefully as @Craw efficiently informed the pack members he had summoned about the situation, russet ears twitching in the dark at the gruff sound of his superiors voice. The young male's questions as to how his alpha was already seemingly familiar with the supposed loner @Askan: they had hunted together. Lorcan's brows raised at the idea, bemused by the thought of Craw putting up with the dark-haired brute's attitude long enough to actually work alongside him, let alone share a meal with.

Blinking back to reality, Lorcan continued to listen to his alpha's instructions. Craw's eagerness to find out about whatever it was the the loner was involved in seemed sensible to Lorcan and so too did the idea of sending out wolves he would not recognise. When Craw instructed that Lorcan show the others where he had encountered the male of interest, the subordinate nodded and chuffed in understanding. He was about to turn to leave towards the lowlands, but in a moment of hesitation he paused and turnt back to face Craw. "I can lead them to where I met him, Sir." He confirmed confidently, before lowering his gaze and licking his lips with uncertainty. "..Should I return once they are safely on his trail?" He asked, head tilting curiously to one side.

Greer Archer-Lyall
The shadow listened patiently as Craw explained the situation to the two scout-to-be’s. His nose twitched anxiously as he glanced over at the newcomer, Lorcan. He did not like the idea of following a wolf he did not know, but if Craw thought it was a good idea Greer would have to bite the bullet. He could not deny that he was also curious about another pack staking claim to the north. Did they not realize that they were stepping dangerously close to Whitestone territory? With his brows knitted together he glanced over at his pale packmate to see her response to the spider’s mission. The pair worked well together, surprisingly, and for that he was thankful. They had a mutual respect toward each other — which meant that few words were exchanged between the two of them when they were out scouting. Much to Greer’s relief.

He nodded softly in response, to show that he understood what Craw was asking of them. Again he did not offer his invoice. Instead, he waited for instruction.

Craw
@Lorcan answered boldly, and Craw would have expected (and accepted) nothing less, but the added question was a good one. Seeing @Greer's nod, the shifting of shadow in the darkness, Craw knew he could trust he and @Celandine to get what he needed - and as such, Lorcan's query was easily answered. "Yes," he rasped, eyes flicking back onto the shape of the newest member's face again. "He knows you, too. I don't want them to know we're looking for them - yet. It is better if he thinks they meet by chance, no motive."

Lorcán Artemieva
Sorry for the long wait, I was giving time for Celandine to reply before me. This is will be my last post in this ‘thread’ and the second part can be found continuing on *here*
When Craw explained the task to everyone present, Lorcan glanced over to Greer to catch him silently nodding his head. The subordinate’s brows furrowed; did the dark-haired male ever speak? Lorcan was yet to hear a word from him, but then again, maybe he was just shy. Lorcan’s golden eyes then briefly flickered back over to the paler figure of Celandine, the female who had paid him no form of greeting earlier – just to see if she too agreed to the plan, before turning his full attention back to Craw was wag of his tail.

When Craw turned to him to answer his question, Lorcan felt a cool shiver of relief wash over him, though he daren’t move and make his feelings known. The thought of confronting a man, or even potentially another pack, made him nervous. He might have managed a to make a good job of things now, with reporting the snippets of information back to Craw now, but he was adamant that he would be no good at whatever it was Greer and Celandine were planning to do. However, leading them out into the lowlands was a much less scary task, and as long as he kept out of the way as Craw had instructed, no harm would come to him. ”Okay, Sir. I understand.” He agreed, before finally turning away and moving towards the path that lead down to the lowlands, turning back every now and then to check that the other two were following behind him.

Celandine Argyris

Celandine listed the details in her head as Craw spoke, her mind singling out anything deemed important. The fact that Craw knew the loner was nixed as it held such little weight. What she /did latch on to was the fact that Lorcan would be escorting both Greer and herself to track the stranger down. Fantastic. Another trip that she'd have a chaperone for. Gods if Craw didn't find a mission for her to complete herself she might kill him in his sleep. A small smile caressed her features, taking over the uninterested expression that had been there only moments before.

"Alright." Her brilliant eyes swept from Craw to Lorcan, as she awaited further instruction. Pathetic.

Have you seen my OOC preferences?

Greer Archer-Lyall
Greer knew that either he or Celandine would have been able to track the wolf on their own, without the help of the newcomer. While they were both young, they had enough sense to know what they were doing when it came to scouting. This wasn’t their first rodeo, after all. Perhaps this was some sort of test for the tawny wolf before them. As the newest member of the monadnock pack, he still needed to prove his worth to the silver spider. Or, maybe, Craw thought that this Lorcan would actually be of some help to the scouting duo. Whatever the reason, whether Greer liked it or not, the tawny wolf would be accompanying them — for at least part of their mission.

Like Celandine, he waited for instruction, his lips tight (per usual) as his mercury gaze fell onto their guide.

Wraith Kael

Whenever he wasn't guiding the pups in a hunt, training them to hone their tracking skills, or accompanying his Alpha on a patrol around the territory, the black brute found himself at the base of the mountains. The ghosts had quieted since their travels back north. No longer did they hound his every waking step, nor plague his dreams. Their previous malevolence had simmered down, but still Wraith was fully aware of their presence.

They called to him, he realized. Not home. The Highlands weren't home anymore. Whitestone Monadnock was home and would ever be until the pack moved on. But the spirits of his past called and sang and howled for him to return and make amends.

"Craw," the Second murmured, calling his friend's attention. "We should talk." Wraith angled his head away from the Monadnock, not wanting any sneaky pups listening in on what he had to ask.

Craw
Drowsy from relaxation, Craw yawned wide, gazing lazily over the top of the monadnock and the horizon beyond. The winter was proving less difficult than the previous, and indeed less difficult than any of those he had known - even after travelling north from the willows, they had still managed to settle south enough to avoid the harshest weathers he had known growing up. It was almost cosy here.

The sound of his name from a familiar voice pulled him from his reverie, though, head snapping about to attentively watch @Wraith approach. He did not immediately feel concern at the statement, though a closer look at his Second's expression sparked an uneasy curiosity. "We do," he agreed, though knowing that his reason would almost certainly be different to Wraith's.

Wraith Kael
Now that he'd settled himself on it, the brute wasn't exactly sure where to start. But he knew @Craw would understand regardless. Still, he led his closest friend out of range of the Monadnock with full knowledge of others watching them leave together and the serious expressions on their faces. Something was happening.
