you do not know who is your friend or who is your enemy until the ICE breaks. Vlarindara followed him like a silent shadow, ghosting down all pale beside him, like quicksilver flowing down the knoll. Snow melted in the sunshine. Ice had no eyes for her, though, he kept looking at the crouched female and the more she crouched, the taller his tail rose. But she spoke and rose up, and his pose froze the way it was, cemented into his hard muscles. At her words, however, he titled his head. Confusion swam in his eyes and his tail even gave a friendly, albeit confused and lost, twitch. Her reasoning made absolutely no sense and even though he kept his mouth shut for some seconds longer trying to decipher if there was any hidden meaning in it - and conveniently forgetting about his remark about her looking frightened - but he came up with nothing. His mind was still stuck on the eavesdropping part. "And my size makes it legit to eavesdrop on me..?" he asked her, but oh, such a weird situation it was. He wasn't accusing her, he wasn't even angry-sounding, just entirely miffed as he stared at her with a blank expression on his face. I mean, sure. His size might attract attention and make someone stare at him, but what did his words have to do with his size anyway? Wasn't Vlarindara pretty much of equal size? Confused, he threw a glance at her and, as if by chance, spotted the black wolf that had come up on their knoll behind them. She was smaller then Ice, but larger then the while female. More eavesdroppers? Ice blinked, confused, at the black female, before looking back to the white female in front of him. Too many wolves, but still his dominant pose held. That was the beauty of social interaction; one submitted by nature and another reacted, taking the upper hand of the interaction, without even thinking. He was tall simply by being himself, but even so he stood firm and rigid now. "I feel surrounded by females," he observed in a dry voice, a hint of amusement edging it as he turned in an arc so he stood where he could watch them all without looking over his shoulder. The white female on his left, the black on his right, and he kept looking between them and on Vlarindara, as if expecting them to tell him what the hell was going on. .ice aesir |
Though she didn't wish to cause trouble, or get into a fight, Vlarindara felt no ill will towards the female for listening.. and stepped - placing herself carefully between Ice and Athena. She lifted her single amber eye towards him, her fluffy tail holding itself straight out behind her. No - she wouldn't be aggressive to him.. but she wouldn't roll over either. They were both of the same rank - and she was defending another.. so Vlarindara lifted her head and focused her eyes on him, her ears pointed forwards - but her stance neutral. "She's done nothing to warrant aggression or anger.. Simply observing is a smart thing...Had I happened upon two larger wolves, I would have waited to - attempted to test the waters.." Her tone was gentle, emploring. She hoped he'd understand.. Ice was in far better condition than she - and if he took offense to her actions, she would NOT stand down.. but doubted she'd come out on top of an altercation.
OOC: Thanks you guys for waiting, I'm sorry for my really late response./:
<b>"Hello everyone! Bad timing?"</b> she asked smling friendly, but slightly amused. Wagging her tail slowly, moving her eyes from wolf to wolf, she waited for response. Ear twitching, muscles waiting for orders, ready to move if that was needed.
you do not know who is your friend or who is your enemy until the ICE breaks. Vlarindara shouldered in before him and Ice took half a step backwards, his tail going like a confused pendulum between low and straight out; he gave Vlarindara a puzzled look, and opened and closed his mouth once or twice before finally speaking. "I'm not angry," he said in a somewhat baffled voice, glancing at the cowering white female behind the larger one. Why on earth was they thinking he was angry? As far as he knew, he hadn't shown any sign of aggression or hostility, all he'd done was ask why being large made it legit to being eavesdropped on. The tip of his tail twitched, mildly annoyed, and then a sleek black female came onto the scene like so much night-black water. She seemed like she wanted to dispel some of the confusion and anger, but Ice only regarded her with wariness. Was she here, too, to tell him he was angry? He wasn't, but he might bloody soon be. "That depends on what kind of atmosphere that suits your tastes," he said, mild irritation creeping into his tone. If they banded together, he had not much of a chance, but... With a half-snarl on his face he turned aside and stalked off a pace or two, before looking over his shoulder. "Until you learn to separate curiosity from anger, I'm out of here. Good luck with your lives, ladies." His desire for watching beautiful scenery and being courteous had vanished with the winds, and with a sullen edge to his movements he began to stalk off, heading north, deeper into The Heart. .ice aesir |
[ lawl. a month late, but here it is! xD I figured we could wrap this up, because it's ...ancient. ]
A sigh slipped from her lips but she lowered her head as the male stalked away, glancing over towards the other two. "Apologies." The white female moved, her legs carrying her away from the pair and towards.. well - wherever it was that her paws would take her. Home, away.. she didn't know, nor did she care.. she just had to get *away*.
