Hearthwood River Sound and Vision

I forgot to reply to this!!

Oksana, fortunately, seemed like she was okay with leaving the search for Inna and instead joining the search for a rainbow. Which was great, because Risaela knew the best places to find rainbows in the river. Unfortunately, the river was the only place to find rainbows aside from the sky. The child had deduced that it probably had something to do with water, but that was pretty weird, because there were no rivers in the sky. But, then again, rain came from the sky, so maybe there were.

It sounded like a question for another day.

The girl led her friend through the forest and over to a steep embankment that fell into a shallow part of the river. Ris wagged her tail excitedly and glanced back at Oksana before leaping down the bank and tumbling head-over-paws into the water below. A splash of water flew up into the air and thinned out into a mist. The light caught the mist and a perfect rainbow shone for a few seconds, which Risaela was more than pleased with. "Raiiiin-bow!" she chirped, sending Sana an excited glance to check if she'd seen.

A glance was thrown in the direction her mother had disappeared, she felt confident that Rissy was right and she would see her mum again later. What had now become more interesting was the prospect of seeing a Raybow. She'd never seen anything thing like that and didn't even know what it might look like. Would she know it when she saw it? Would Rissy tell her all about it? So many things that she had to learn. How would she be able to learn them all? Oksana wondered if her mother would teach her everything she wanted to know or maybe her uncle Lach? She was almost bouncing with excitement to see the Raybow that Rissy wanted to show her.

She followed her friend eagerly through the forest and when they came to the steep embankment Oksana had a little trouble. Her legs were still so short and made it a little difficult but she didn't give up and soon made it over. What was on the other side the pup hadn't ever seen before, “What that?” She asked with wide eyes. Before she could get and answer Rissy had tumbled down into the water and for the briefest of moments she saw it. A flash of color before it had disappeared. Her gaze when to Rissy as she had declared that was the Raybow, “Where go?” Oksana asked looking around for where the rainbow had gone, she wanted to see more of it.

Ris tilted her head to the side when Oksana asked about not the rainbow, but the river. "Dat r-river," she explained, dunking her muzzle liberally into the chilly water. She blew bubbles through her nostrils before lifting her head again and grinning at the other pup. "Lotsa r-riv-river here!" The river was cool, but it wasn't awesome or anything. Especially since the river got deep in parts and Ris wasn't a fan of water that came above her belly, because then it could eat you. "Sana co-come in!"

Then she made the rainbow and Oksana asked about where it went. Huh. That was a toughie, because Ris had absolutely no clue as to what might be the answer. "Um...." she drawled, then splashed and sent another rainbow into the air. Just cause. "It-it go to sk-sk-sky!" She turned her attention back to the dark-pelted child, a smile on her maw. "You l-li-like ih-it?" Oksana's happiness was high on Ris' priority list, because she really liked making the littler pup happy. Especially when that involved distracting her from Inna's absence.

Having not ventured far from the den Oksana was curious about everything. She wanted to know what all of it was so this strange body of water piqued the smudges interest. “R-i-v-e-r,” she repeated slowly testing the feel of the word in her mouth. A thoughtful look crossed her face as she thought it over before nodding to herself, she would remember. Then Rissy exclaimed there were lotsa rivers, “Where more?” She hadn't known this bit of information and wanted to see them all. Rissy had other plans though, she wanted Oksana to join her. The pup was a little unsure but she had seen it hadn't hurt her friend so she hoped she would be okay too.

Carefully the smudge got closer to the water until she stuck her toe in to see what it was like. It didn't seem too bad so she took a few more steps in until she was up to her little elbows. Her mother would it be happy. Oksana was also worried about here the rainbow had gone and asked. Her head titled back to look up at the sky when Rissy said that was where it had gone, “Not see!” She exclaimed. Her gaze went back to her friend when asked if she liked it, “Sana like Raybow,” she said happily, “See more?”
