He continued to roll his plump body all over the rabbit, a wide smile tugging at his dark lips as he flopped around. In this moment nothing else mattered. Not his mother, not the strange sounds and sights surrounding him, not even his own safety. All he cared about was the rabbit he’d been given—even if it wasn’t very responsive. His little jaws clamped down on the creature and he began to toss his head from side to side. His mother’s familiar voice sounded from behind him but he did not respond; he was far too engrossed in the soft rabbit. Even the soft lick to his cheek couldn’t distract the boy. He flung himself onto the creature once more, his little body tumbling over the rabbit as an excited yip escaped him. Once he landed on the other side of the rabbit he turned to his mother, the grin on his dark maw stretching even wider as he met her tangerine pools.

It was truly a comical sight watching as her son rolled and played with the rabbit she'd brought him. The second time mother just watched as Ori became so engrossed in what he was doing that not even her lick to his cheek could tear him away. She remained alert for signs of coyotes and hoping they didn't ruin this time for him. Despite how his life had started and what had led them to their current home he was a happy, healthy pup and that was all she could ask for. A smile broke her dark features as she watched him fling himself at the rabbit once more and the tiny sound that he made in doing so. Inna thought perhaps one day he might be a great hunter or even a guardian if he ever chose to join a pack. He wasn't like her daughter who had grown up in a pack and that was all she knew. He would learn the life of a loner and would be able to make it on his own if that was the life he chose. She learned long ago to take things day by day because the future couldn't be predicted. When his gaze finally landed on her a grin on his face she smiled at her cub, “Do you want to bring your new toy inside?” She asked pointing to the den entrance with her muzzle. Inna felt it was time they got inside the den in case the coyotes moved closer.

Inside. That was a sound he knew. His denim gaze tore away from his mother’s dark frame and lingered on the opening to the den. Inside. Where they were both safe from all the dangers of the outside world. He blinked, his stubby nose turning to the prize beneath his paws. Maybe inside was a good idea. Despite wanting to play with his new toy further Orionis’ eyelids had begun to grow heavy. He slumped against the ground and nodded gently in silent agreement. Maybe it was time for him, momma and his new toy to take a nap. More specifically him, but the other two were welcome to join him if they wanted to. With a heavy sigh he pulled himself off the rabbit and begun dragging it toward the den, his dark features pinching in determination...

She had gotten Ori yo come out of the den for his first look at the world and he'd even loved the gift that she'd brought him. Inna felt it was a successful day for the two of them even if they hadn't had a pack to share it with. With the scent of Coyotes on the air she felt it was safer for her and her son to head inside the den. She also felt that it was time for Orionis to take his nap which she usually tried to take with him. On this day she most certainly would be curling up with him. He seemed to be okay with the idea as well and she had to smile at his efforts to drag his toy back into the den. She gave him a nudge in the rear before picking his toy up for him once he was making his way into the den. Inna then proceeded to carry his toy in for him to lay it down for him to rest against if he wanted.
