For once, reason seemed to win over her impish urge to tease him, and so she stopped in her tracks. Simply, she met his green gaze with her own, her head lifting to a confident height.
"My own brother's been going telling everyone he really wants to see me," she started, knowing a full-blown speech would probably irritate him further... but she supposed she could try and explain herself a little.
"But only because he wants to kill me."
She narrowed her pale eyes, head tilting at a slight angle. He was a tough one to judge— so she was done trying.
"Copper Rock Creek. That's where you'll find her. But if you hurt Nina, our pack will hurt you.
Slowly, she turned, though not about to turn her back on this wolf.
"Don't follow me," she added finally, and peered at him over her shoulder with a small smile. And with a final, resolute swish of her tail, she shot off through the trees. What would happen would happen.</blockquote>
