Mirren Tainn

With their commitment to each other now set in stone, the remarkably fortunate pair was free to return to their carefree state of existence together. Mirren took a breath as the word 'husband' rolled off of Kite's tongue, reveling in the shiny new title that was applicable only for her. It wasn't like anything had really changed for them, but now that they were one the boy seemed to see the world in a new light. The forest, bathed in warm morning sunlight, appeared brighter, the songs of the birds sounded cheerier, and the smell of the air was refreshing. He searched Kite's face as she admitted that she was willing to eat whatever he was to catch, realizing that it was truly his responsibility to tend to his wife's needs, such as breakfast. And dinner. And spooning. The prospect of being the bigger utensil until the day he died was riveting and silly and he loved it.

And he...he...

Mirren proudly rose to his feet finally, lowering his head to nudge his bride before slipping out from their makeshift love shack. A new man, he soaked up the sunlight that danced across his back, stretching his forelegs and belly as he considered the implications of the fact that it was up to him to feed the both of them. With a shake and a shudder he was ready to face the day. "I hope you like fish," he flirted to her, and he really meant it. Because he wasn't quite sure there were many fish where his wife was from, and in his mind he envisioned Kite, wet and sloppy and with her head in the river, fishing. The thought brought a smile to his face. "To the river with you, then, wife," he quipped, motioning to the east where the sound of Bramble Falls hummed in the distance.

"─and, hey..." he looked her over with outrageous satisfaction, moving to close the distance between them but not before losing his footing on a patch of mud that was still slick from the rain the night before. In an uncharacteristically clumsy moment, Mirren nearly tripped and probably looked very silly while he was attempting to be Kite's knight in shining armor. His cheeks filled with heat as he made a speedy recovery and flitted to her side to poke her chin with a boyish kiss.

"...I've loved you since the first moment I ever saw you, Kite. I'm gonna love you forever."

happily ever after.
