It seemed as though his own departure would have to wait, as Queen of the Mountains graced them with her presence. Her tail lowered half a fraction, to prove that he was just one rank lower than she. He stood loyally by her side as she spoke to the man, apparently knowing him from a past time. His own green eyes followed towards the outstretched paw, restraining himself from instinctually jumping at the male for coming a small amount closer to his alpha. Ash didn’t like it when strangers, to him, got closer to the ones that he cared about. Athena seemed to be at ease though, and so the brown brute stood in his place, shoulder to shoulder with the white form next to him.

He spoke no more, but simply listened to the conversation passed back and forth between the two of them. What was this man’s business here? It was apparent that he had been looking for Athena but doubts in his head screamed quietly to him. Tlarx had not been scented recently and he worried that his alpha might be going through a hard time without her mate to lean on. He would be there for her, just as he had sworn himself to her. He hadn’t gone back on his oath and he didn’t plan on going back on it until his death. He was forever loyal to Athena and Athena only.

Perhaps, seeing Eden today would lift her dark demeanor. She didn’t consider him an adversary, but she definitely didn’t know him well enough to call him a friend. Athena had made that mistake already and she wasn’t about to make that mistake again. However, something about Eden spoke volumes to her. Just like Ash and Steel had. Something about them had spoken volumes to her as well and they turned out more loyal than any other being she’s ever known. So, perhaps Eden could turn out to be a loyal friend like her Guardians have. Only time could tell.

The smile painted on her face grew larger as he mentioned his snake bite healed well. “I’m sure you could have survived without me,” she murmured happily. But, his following inquiring question damped her spirits. How was she doing? Truthfully, she felt like giving up on everything. She felt like she should have just thrown her crown back at Naira and said the hell with it, but something inside her stopped her. Something inside her kept her going. Something inside her kept her alive. The little voice in her head kept telling her that there would be an end to all this madness; she just had to sit through the turmoil to get to it. Sometimes she didn’t want to believe it, but there were times of hope that kept her going. Perhaps it was true; whatever doesn’t kill you just makes you stronger. If that was true, she must be stronger because she’s not dead.

Her fiery eyes couldn’t hide her true feelings, but her façade easily masked them. “I’ve been better, but that’s a conversation for another day,” she told him, her voice hiding her inner emotions as well. Turning the conversation around, she questioned the coffee colored male once again, a smile once again playing on her ebony lips. ”What brings you over here, Eden?”

Eden Asthed
With Athena entering their field it made Ash silent. For a split-second his eyes went to the sandy male. The rank become a lot more clear as Leader and Second stood side by side. Eden could not read his mind but he would not bother to. As Ash had taken up his role well he just chatted with Athena. His ears peaked forward a little. Did he hear well? Her voice sounded a bit happy, she was just murmuring so he could not say for sure. 'Probably, but it would have been a bit more painful. Besides it's hard to walk with a swollen paw, especially in unknown area's.' Though Eden was confident that he would never die from poison or anything that was curable. Athena's help had been highly appreciated and he was glad the white woman did not regret helping him out. How would that brown wolf be doing? His name was.. Shad. Something close to that, he could not recall really well. He didn't know but for some reason Shad rubbed him the wrong way. Or it was just his irritable mood that moment. After all he had been bitten by a snake.

Eyes were mirrors of the soul. Without the owner knowing it they could reveal more than a word-hoard. However the golden eyes knew how to keep it's secrets safe. Golden doors locked by the white Queen that held so many things. Eden did not know about the chaos in Poison path or the hard position Athena held. He was not part off all that. Just like her eyes her face was evident to keep the unpleasant from coming out. Though her words sounded like hints to him. Eden was not that sure about his own thoughts, he was the kind that could keep stuff boiling in his stomach like forever. Till everything would explode like a volcano. With him it was a bit more extreme but he knew there were enough wolves who endured more than they could. Knowing Athena not well enough he could not say certainly what could be under her words. Just fatigue or a deep lake with emotions. It was probably better to not dig into it, as it was not his place. His head made a silent nod as he watched the smile play on her lips again.

His shoulders shrugged a bit as he said: 'Taking a stroll I guess.' Well he wanted to take a stroll deeper into these mountains. Seeing where to go from above. It was something that told him otherwise. Intuition? May be, what was the point of walking the whole mountain back up to take a walk. Under there was enough space to ''take a stroll,'' there were hills to look a bit over the landscape. It was a excuse and he knew it deep inside. 'I guess.. I wanted to be in the mountains once more.' Hmm, it was hard. His reasons were vague and the lines had knots all over the place. If he would follow that red line carefully would he come out on what he thought it was? His voice soft but surprised, 'Joining?'

His tail lashed behind him, his green eyes taking on the dark form of Ecco. Athena’s tone seemed generally…happy, something he had not heard out of her mouth in quite some time. It caused some amount of jealousy to pass through him, his nostrils flaring silently as the two of them conversed with one another. He listened intently to what was said, but his blood turned cold when he suggested joining them. His ears pricked, showing that he was more intent on listening to the conversation at the mention of joining their tight-knit family. Could the man in front of them be trusted, Ash didn’t know, but he also knew that he would not trust as easily as he once again. Everyone who had been in the pack, not counting Belladonna or Athena, had left them and deserted them. Ash would not welcome any of them back with open paws unless they had a damn good reason to.

His shoulder brushed against Athena, silent support the situation here. Athena already knew that Ash would keep a careful eye on all the new members. He kept marks on them and reported back to the alpha every once and awhile. It was almost like he was a double agent, watching out for his pack mates, but also reporting their activities to their alpha. It was for the best of the overall pack though and Ash respected this. Whatever made Athena happy would work for him and he would happily do whatever was asked of him. Hus tail flickered behind him a few times, before his body remained motionless and alert once more.

She listened to the brown hued man as he went on. A few nods here and there, until the mention of joining came along. Her ear flicked towards her burly Guardian at his touch. He was the one man that she could truly trust with all her heart to be there when she needed him. Her burning eyes glanced in his direction to study his face for a moment. The Guardian always puts on a strong façade in front of others, but it was no use, Athena could see right through it. She knew him too well.

Fiery eyes turning back to meet Eden’s sea green ones, her strong voice stern as to make her point clear. “I’ve seen many comings and goings in my days as leader of Poison Path; I’m going to make a point of changing that. Any who abandon Poison Path for their own selfish reasons will never be welcomed back with open arms again. From what I have observed of you, Eden, you do not seem to be one to do that to me, but I could be mistaken. I will not tolerate deserters.” The turmoil in her burning eyes reflected all her hurt and the betrayals that have been done against her very clearly. From here on, Athena wasn’t going to be as lenient as she had been before. Look at what had happened. Ruling with a stern paw was what had to be done from now on. She was no longer going to be irrefrangibled by others. “I trust that you will not make a fool out of my decision.” Stepping forward, she reached for his muzzle, firmly grabbing it in hers as she made Eden an official poisoned wolf.

“Welcome to Poison Path, Eden,” she said as she moved away from the blackened wolf. Glancing back at Ash, her fiery eyes meeting his green orbs, “You know what to do.” With that, she began to make her way back towards her awaiting kingdom.

What had he just said? Joining? How come such a word slipped out of his throat? Though it was a odd feeling it didn't feel out of place. Not at all, some clouds lifted in his head. The reason remained hidden but he would seek for it another time. It was not important right now, not important enough. It fit so there was no reason to doubt his own intuition. Ash was on the background but his existence didn't fade. When the man closed the already little distance between his Queen his eyes were short drawn by the brown male. He wanted to watch him, let him look at his own eyes to proof that this was not a whimper. If Ash had seen it or not, Athena's amber eyes took all his attention.

His ears heard every word of her, which held a mix of a compliment and a threat may he ever think to abandon Athena and her pack. He listened to the words, held them close to not let go but at the same time it were just words. It was nothing compared to the conversation they held with their eyes. Unspoken words who told him a tale full of pain and treason. The burning gaze clashed with his own, translucent eyes. Once those eyes had been bright like the sun, once they had been clouded by the coming storm. Now they held a vow. An irrefrangible vow. Broken gold, Eden swore he would not be the one to cause any more pain for the white fae. No it would not be him. She said she believed him. So could he believe she trusted him to believe his words. His unspoken word.

Her muzzle grabbed him in a firm hold. It was a first. The urge to pull back and defend his weak spot was ignored. Instead he felt the warm breath of the fae on his nose. It tickled. Daring he watched once again into her amber eyes. I am here. She just had to wait for him to proof his right. As she loosened her grip cold air replaced her warm breath. Eden broke his gaze as he rumpled his nose to prevent a sneeze. Athena turned away back to her home. His home. This time he was sure to look Ash in the eye. The male may know what he had to do know but Eden had no idea what the man would say or even do. He just had to wait. Wait and see.

He waited and evaluated, a shadow to the background of a set, just as he had always liked it. Ever since he had joined the poisoned wolves, he had been devoted to the ones within it, and as Lady Athena spoke of their betrayals it was a cruel reminder of how they had devoted themselves to the ones that had deserted them and worked their asses off, and then have their asses thrown right back in their faces when they had left Athena and Ash behind. It had been hard, watching as one by one the ones that he loved slowly began to be clawed away from him. That would no longer be allowed, just as the white goddess had said. They would now lead with a strong paws. Green eyes watched the exchanges between the two wolves, watching the reactions on both Eden and Athena's part. It was what he did best, watching away from the others and silently calculating mistakes and betrayals in his head. It was not what he wanted to be doing in his free time, but whatever suited Athena and Belladonna best would be perfectly fine with him. His ears continued to flicker with each note of strong point within his alpha's words, paying close attention and hearing how the furious edge rose in her tone with each word. It had been hard on both of them but even the large male knew it had been harder on Athena, for she had been the one to keep everyone together and Ash had loyally and faithfully remained her strong pole through the whole time, lifting her up when she was down and supporting her whenever she needed him to, which was not often, the woman was independent...there was no doubt about it.

Before he even knew it, Eden was being accepted into their kingdom and Athena was taking her leave. As she approached him, he bowed to her, his nose barely hovering over the ground as she passed near him, her words reaching his ears. With a respectful, low sounding growl, he lifted his head, his sharp mossy green eyes staring at Eden's similar sea green eyes. He knew exactly what he had to do. Evaluate and see how much he can handle. Find out how tough he really is. And keep track of his strikes. Then there was always another important thing, "Follow me." His low, thundering tone barked the order at the subordinate male, his ears and tail pricked and held high. It was time to show his new family member the territory and den area. With one last glance behind him to make sure Eden was following him, Ash quickly dashed through the familiar mountains, ready to see if the male could keep up with him...
