Guiness Thorben
For @Narimé <33

He had heard it the other day when he had been in passing. Narimé, his brother’s mate, was ill. Worry had passed through him as to what could have gone so wrong with her and knowing that the pups must have already been born, he had reassured El briefly that he would be gone for a bit to visit her and had quickly left, making sure that the area was secure upon his own leaving. The red hued hulk had then rushed towards where his brother’s territory would be, his large frame having some difficulty getting through the dense foliage on his way there. Eventually, he had made it though, and he stopped quickly when he came upon the Whisper Caverns border, his nose leaning down to take a quick sniff before backing a bit away from the borders, not wishing to alert any other pack members that happened to be nearby.

Quickly, the Guardian raised his head and let out a bellowing call to the leading and the woman only. On his way over, he had feared for the worst. Had his brother’s woman caught the deadly disease that had been spreading around the lore…or had she had a miscarriage and none of her pups lived? He waited patiently by the borders, his large paws shuffling beneath his feet as he waited for the arrival of the silver beauty. Such a rare color of fur that Guiness had seen recently, he would not mind seeing his former pack mate though. He was sure that she was alright, but there was no harm in checking.

Narimé Lagina

Once more she found herself needing to stretch her legs. Narimé purposely kept herself cooped up in the birthing den for she was far too protective of the newborns which nursed at her belly. The only thing she ever left for was a drink and food if no one came by to give her any. The young mother still felt unease in her stomach after eating. In fact she hadn't actually felt all that hungry since she'd given birth to the pups. Nari knew however that she must eat so that she could produce enough milk for them. Yet every time the silver wolf did eat she would suffer from dizzy and nauseous feelings.

Right now the young alpha stood outside of the birthing den checking the area for danger. It was about ten minutes later before the woman finally forced herself to leave the pups alone for a short time. The she wolfs legs lengthened enjoying the time she had to stretch them out. Her stride quickened as she neared the small stream. It was almost dried up now, but a few dips in the earth still collected enough water for her to drink from.

It was then that she heard the call. Picking her gray head up and licking off the sparkling drops of water that coated her muzzle, Narimé answered the familiar call with her own. Quickly Nari finished her drinking knowing she wouldn't be able to get to the stream again for some time. Then she raced towards her step-brothers call slowing only when her stomach began to shift uneasily while it was full of water.

She reached Guiness at a slow trot then pulled up as she joined the rusty male at the border. Her blue eyes glittered happy to see her friend again, but also happy to see that he was keeping well to wolf law. Unlike Shades visit when he'd passed right through their border and ended up deep in their territory.

"Hello Guiness. I'm happy you came to visit." Her eyes glanced back behind her slightly anxious about leaving the pups alone. She hoped to keep the meeting short so that Nari could get back to caring for her little ones. Pulling her gaze back to Gui she gave him a warm smile while stifling a tiny burp brought up from her previous drink of water.

It was not long after he made his call out to the Whisper Caverns alpha, did he get answered by a call of her own. Lifting his head, he waited the arrival of the silver beauty that his brother had by his side. In truth, he was proud of his younger brother, pleased that he had found someone that brought joy into his life. It comforted him that someone would love him just as much as he loved them. It brought the Thorben tank joy that is brother had found happiness, because in Tempest’s and his own position, the twins had a hard time finding one to care for them. Guiness personally had never fallen in love with another being. Yes, he loved his family but he was talking about being in love with someone else. Sometimes he wished the day would come, but other days he was perfectly fine with what he had around him. Tempest and Guiness were twins and it was easy for the two of them to comfort one another and know how the other was feeling. It was one of the reasons why Gui never had a reason to speak. Whereas Tempest spoke to make her feel better, Guiness did it through physical exertion. They had never had much of a problem before.

When the woman in front of him finally arrived, Guiness made a point to sniff the air around him, some of his former anxiety leaving his body. She did not smell of the illness that had plagued the lore and to him, she did not smell ill at all. Flicking his ears forward at her words, he gave a kind smile to her, bowing to the alpha of the lands that he was oh so close to. Tucking his large tail beneath his body, he looked back up towards the woman in front of him. Apparently she had already given birth and now that he thought about it, he was quite anxious to see his nephews. None the less, that was not the reason the Head Guardian of Willow Ridge had come to seek out his brother’s lover. He wanted to come to see if she was alright. Considering this topic as business he spoke clearly, his deep voice clear and strong, "You are not feeling okay?" His question was clear and to the point, not beating around the bush, but instead diving straight in. Tilting his head slightly to the side, the male waited for Narimé’s reaction.

Of course. Little words would be spoke when communicating with her adopted older brother. Nari had grown used to talks being one-sided with Guiness back in Willow Ridge, and she was partially glad to see that he was still the same. The same rock only slowly weathering to time. She sighed and gave him a warm smile.

This was one of the wolves the young woman missed the most from Willow Ridge. A part from Elettra and Shade, Guiness was one of the wolves she had the easiest time getting along with. Rosealia had been her rival when it came to hunting, Kyrie was a good friend but was often no where to be seen, and Tempest was someone the younger female had looked up to. Though she still liked to claim that she was a better hunter than the rusty female Thorben.

"Yeah just a little unwell. " She gave him a short answer which Nari knew he would like better than one of her long winded talks. "But don't worry my pack mates all help to take care of me, and really I feel well enough.. " She smiled trying to hide the worry for herself.

She shook her ruff and tried to think of a way to change the topic. Her mind drifted towards her pups still back in the den and Nari had a hard time focusing on just what she wanted to do.

"You know you have two nephews and a little rust colored niece over here in the den. " She wagged her tail and smiled a charming smile to the huge Thorben. Though Nari wasn't sure if he would be excited enough to show it. "The first born male Titan is large and black, he seems to be the strongest of the litter. I kinda hope he'll get to your size. Then there's the second born female Malia. She's a little pushy with her siblings but her coat is the same as her fathers family. Lastly there's my little one Yuka. He's the quiet and calm runt of the litter and had a hard start on life, but now Yuka is strong and healthy. He's silver coated like me though his legs and paws have a tinge of orange to them. " She described Guiness new family and could not hide the pride and love that shown in her voice. Nari could easily talk all day about how those little one's suckled voraciously upon her. Or how their cries were strong but each pup had a different tone to their voices. There were many things she could tell Guiness about her little pups.

He waited patiently for Narimé’s response and when it came, he was quite shocked. Her long, fast talk was not what greeted him, causing him to lift one of his eyebrows in curiosity. It was unlike his sister in law to not constantly speak to him while he patiently sat down; his red ears pricked forward, waiting patiently for the on slaughter of words that were soon to come. He was not disappointed, for soon the woman in front of him was talking in her usual chipper attitude, pushing away his worries about her being too ill. If she talked more than his own sister than she was surely fine (at least in the physical state). He was pleased to hear that he had two nephews and a niece, and ones that were healthy. It relaxed him deeply to know that both his brother and Narimé had made it out alright.

Thinking this over, he determined that Yuka sounded the most like him…calm and quiet. A small smirk formed on his lips as he responded to his brother’s mate’s words. His drawl heavy and normal, "Yuka…sounds like…me." He nodded his head, clearing his throat in the process to ease the strain of his vocal cords. Of course, Guiness was sure that with time the pup that barely talked would end up being more over time…being with a woman and man that constantly talked most of the time. Of course, the Guardian could easily teach the little pup his silent ways, but he was also sure that the creamy woman in front of him would not exactly like that. It was nice to hear that the woman hoped that one of her pups would turn out something like him though, even if it was his massive size.

She watched raising her silver chin in pride as her friend Guiness spoke. He's right though... Yuka is a little more reserved than the others. She thought quietly looking back on her newer memories of the three little bundles back at the den. Nari's ears flickered at the silence after the Thorben's few words. She felt the need to fill in that silence somehow.

"Well Yuka might be reserved and thoughtful like you, but he's a little more vocal I think..." She chuckled and silently hoped to herself that the gray pup wouldn't be too quiet.

"Little Malia actually kinda reminds me of Tempest for some reason. Maybe it's her fiery personality." Narime stretched her back then glanced behind her towards the territory. She was anxious about the pups. They were getting big enough to move around more now and Nari was worried they might head out of the den while she wasn't there.

"If you want you can come with me to see them. Then when you get back to the Willows you can gloat to Tempest and El about your little niece and nephews." She let out a comfortable growl with a wide grin; waving her silver tail in invitation.

At the mention of his nephew on Narimé’s lips, the stoic Guardian could not stop the grin that spread over his usual neutral lips. Flicking his tail behind him, he looked on at the woman. She seemed to have developed much since he had last seen her. Remembering how much purpose was sent into him being here, he reached behind him to firmly clamp the herbs in his jaws, approaching the borders slightly to push the herbs towards his brother’s woman before backing away once again. He was sure that she would know how to use them, as he was sure they were similar to what El had given her before. At this time, the gray woman was glancing behind her, as if something was wrong, but before he could ask what was bothering her, she spoke again.

Joy radiated from the Guard’s eyes, excitement following through his body. It would be an honor to be one of the first from Willow Ridge to see his niece and nephews. Nodding his head enthusiastically, he stepped over the border hesitantly before falling into step with the woman beside him. He truly was excited that he would be able to see the children of Whisper Caverns; even if it did make him slightly uneasy knowing that he was walking into unknown territory that he knew many other wolves lived in. Though in the process of crossing the borders, he had also picked up the herbs. The gentleman in him would simply not let the mother take something to carry and let her walk on her own as they made their way over. Excitement was easy to recognize in every step that he took.

Narimé Lagina
Not going to tag the pups because this thread was started before they were playable anyway.

The giant Thorbens happiness was clearly apparent on his russet masked face and in his wagging tail. Nari responded to his eagerness with a wagging tail of her own and a grin of ear tip to ear tip. She watched him step over the border then turned to lead the large male towards the birthing den. He, Tempest, and maybe Shade were the only wolves from outside the pack that Nari would probably allow to see her pups. Indeed the proud young mother wanted to show them off and gloat about their perfectness.

She led Gui through the long grasses towards the edge of the forest. She knew that he probably remembered the way to the caverns where the packs main den was. However the russet wolf would not know where she and her pack mates had hidden the birthing den. Heading east from the hill where the main den hid under, Nari dodged willow trees and viburnum bushes as she loped towards the smaller earthen den. Pulling herself to a stop Nari inspected the entrance quickly making sure that everything was still in order. The three pup scents wafted from the dens mouth hidden by three bramble bushes.

Skirting the bramble bushes Narimé stuck half her body into the den her pack mates had scraped out for her. Though the mother had recently widened the den herself to make it more comfortable. It seemed that all three pups were comfortable snuggling together in the warm nest she had made. Titan was underneath his sister Malia and Yuka lay next to Titan's rear end.

Backing out of the den Narimé glanced towards Guiness a little nervousness showing in her gaze. She didn't want to wake her little ones.

"They're sleeping so be quiet okay? " Nari gestured pointing her nose to the dens entrance for the male to step in and look. She wondered if he would have the same reaction Sloane did when he'd first seen them.

Guiness Thorben

He remembered this area quite well, as he had been on a stake out for a few days due to Narimé being caught in these very caverns. The Guard had been quite worried and with undying loyalty, had remained near her until she had finally found a way to escape. If he had not been there, he did not know if there would have been a way to survive. He had hunted for her and made sure that she had been fed, thankfully, it had been enough to save her life. Considering that she was Sloane’s mate made the deed even holier in his mind. She was family to him now and everyone knew quite well that Guiness was completely devoted to his family. It was what made him so good at his job sometimes, but that did not go without saying that he was sometimes with fault. He did his best whenever he could to make those around him happy, but today, he was going to be the one that was made happy. He became slightly squeamish once they neared the birth den and Gui couldn’t wait to see his niece and nephews. When they approached the den, Narimé turned to him to make sure that he would not be too loud.

For some reason he found what she was saying quite amusing until he realized that she was being serious. If she honestly thought that he would have a problem with being quite than maybe she was not feeling as well as he had originally thought she was. He didn’t say anything though and found himself sticking his large head in the den to see the three balls of fur that his brother’s lover had mentioned. He was sure that he could easily pick them out just by what he had been told. He was assuming that the little boy that was away from the princess, who was obviously Malia, and another male, who was bigger than the gray boy. Remembering that he had been told of Yuka’s nature, he assumed that the pup that was away from brother and sister was Yuka, where as the one that had his jaw open as he lay next to Malia was Titan. The pups were very cute and he found that they already had a warm spot in his heart. Upon further examination, his eyes softened from their hard exterior. Each one of them had their own coloring of Thorben, while Narimé was certainly in them as well. Yuka just proved as much. Retracting his head from the den, he turned to Nari, an approving, low, rumbling growl escaping from his throat. It was low enough to where it would not wake up the children though.
