Fireweed Rise Troublemaker

The fae had been stalking, not pups as she was now, but had been stalking nearby herds to study their patterns so as to better hunt them. The leathery nose had not just picked up scents of deer and hare and other creatures, but the scent of a pup who should not have gotten so far from home. Who was supposed to be watching them?! Where was Keith, where was Simaea, Sloane, Narimé, Anglo, how was everyone so busy that a pup could just wander out of the territory? What of the other two? Had Titan and Yuka stayed home while their sister practically ran away? A million thousand horrific scenarios ran through Minka's mind as tawny legs pushed faster and harder than ever. It was like a thousand burning embers filled her muscles but still she pushed one as branches lashed out at her muzzle and body and legs, threatening to tangle her and slow her down.

The howl that reached the femme's ears did nothing to calm her, it called for Narimé and Sloane, but the voice was of a stranger. A stranger had Malia and who knows what he had done to her, who knows what scene she would find when she finally reached the pup. Frantically Minka burst through the tree line, the red in her pelt matching the tall flowers that surrounded her. The golden eyes hysterically sweeped the area while her voice rang strong, displaying nothing but fierce determination, "Whoever you are, you had better step away from that pup or so help me god you will hobble for the rest of your god forsaken life." The words were a threat, poised through snarled teeth as hackles rose high and muscles tensed for strike.

The gaze settled down upon the rusty pup who was surrounded by two, who she originally thought would be strangers but Minka realized with a jolt she knew the woman. Stepping forward her head held high, it was clear they would surrender Malia to her without fight or the fae would fight to the death protecting her. Stern eyes looked upon the puppy, her mother would probably lecture her later, Minka's place was only returning her home safe, "Malia, get behind me now." The golden eyes flashed up to the other two, her expression clear, they would face her wrath should either of them lay a paw on the puppy.

Note to TABs and Alanna, Ghost and I have planned for Jessie and Minka to have a little scuffle. <3 So sorry if we skip you. <3 Also, PP was allowed on both of our parts.

The woman almost enjoyed the little bickering going between her man and the little ball of fur in front of them, who easily seemed to try to make herself look bigger in front of them. She remembered when she had tried to look the same way when she had been smaller, but within her she had always known that it was no use and that she would always be tinier than those older than her and now even younger than her too! She was pressed against the side of her love as the small pup in front of her, as she had guessed, turned her attention to more serious subjects concerning…her of course. A small smile was covered beneath her layers of masks, but when she heard Hotei speak up and the sudden interest she was sure that he had found there, she turned her head so that her jade eyes could look into his beautiful yellow ones. Usually the one to break contact because of the intensity of his gaze, she was surprised when he had been the first one to look away. Feeling a flush coming to her skin, she also looked back towards the little pup, curious to hear her answer.

Jessie had never really had any contact with her siblings, preferring to be the secluded one and found she fit in much better with the older, much wiser crowd, which she too also ended up pushing away once her older sister had left. The only one who had gotten her back on her feet had been Brenton. At the thought of her friend…or past friend, who had deserted her; she tensed right next to Hotei, her nails digging into the soft dirt beneath her paws before relaxing. That all changed when a bellowing voice reached her ears. Instinctively, as if in second nature, she stepped protectively over her friends’ pup, her lips instantly pulling back to reveal her teeth. Whoever this voice was wasn’t Narimé or Sloane, though it did ring a bell somewhere in her brain. However, the threat that was screamed out to her and Hotei held more meaning to her scrambled brain and immediately upon recognizing her old “friend.” The thought that sent her flying towards the woman in front of her was that she wasn’t going to touch what was rightfully hers, which happened to be the man that was standing behind her. All sense of self control was blown out of the forest then as she felt down the form of the other woman who she had once been on good terms with, "Listen to me, you little bitch! I don’t know who you think you are, but you have some nerve threatening my mate and I! We came here to safely return what ran away from you. If I were you, I would be keeping a tighter grip on the PUPS around you!" She spat in the woman’s face, determined to hold her down for as long as she could, the safety of her friends’ pup long pushed out of her mind.

Jessie flew towards her and Minka instantly braced herself in a defensive position before the collision. Dirt infused itself with the tawny fur of her back as they skidded across the grass slightly from the impact, a tangle of legs and teeth and claws. The woman was pinned but she refused to be defeated, the insult was slung but her own words were fast in response, "Your mate?! He smells of the neighbouring pack and yet your home is far from here, he obviously can't stand being around you can he?" Fore pay flung towards the woman catching her in the silvery jaw, Minka put all her force behind it and managed to force Jessie off of her.

Now the tawny fae had the upper hand as they rolled into opposite positions, teeth barred and jaws snapping. Growls ripped from her throat as she pressed down upon the woman, all she had wanted was the pup but she would defend them to the end if that was what was needed. Snarling down at her Minka threw her own insult into the woman's face, "A wolf with any brains in its head would have returned the pup back to the territory immediately instead of waiting for its parents to find you." Snapping her jaws once more she leapt off of the woman below her, she would take the pup now and leave, she wanted no more trouble.

Foolishly Minka turned her back to Jessie so her eyes fell on Malia once more, "Malia lets go, we're going home now." Narimé would be sure to kill her once they returned, she hadn't been in charge of watching the pups but that meant little. The whole pack was responsible for the pups all the time not just when you were assigned the task, which meant all the pack was responsible for Malia wandering so far off territory. The sooner they returned safely to Whisper Caverns the better, the puppy had to be returned safely, if a single scratch was laid upon her the whole pack would be as good as dead.

Asterion was doing his very best to settle into pack life. It was strange being around so many new faces, and having things expected of him. Before all of this he had been used to a free life, traveling when he pleased, and hunting whenever it felt right. Here things were different but to be honest they weren't as strained as he originally imagined them being. Sloane's rule was nothing like what he had expected, and for that he was grateful. The dark male moved forward, toward the caverns that the pack members slept in. He was intent on finding Minka, as per usual, which only added to the strange sense of danger that came with her scent trail. It was not heading back to camp, nor was it alone. One of the pups was unmistakeably with her, which immediately shot panic through his veins. Asterion was not the type to let favors go unpaid, and he owed Sloane. In fact he made it his personal mission to see to it that no harm befell the pups until they were old enough to handle themselves.

Nose to the ground, he moved over the terrain. It wasn't until he neared them that the extent of the situation hit his eardrums. A voice he had never heard before broke through the silence, quickly followed by Minka's angry tone. Afraid that a fight might break out, he picked up his pace. He laid his eyes on the Whisper Caverns pair just in time to see Minka turn away from the wolves who seemed to be causing the commotion. An internal huff sounded throughout his head. The first thing he had ever been taught about fighting was to never turn your back on your attacker. It made you weak, as you couldn't see them coming. It was the cowards way out, sure, but many took the chance. On more than one occasion his own father had done the same to him. Continuing forward toward his female, he kept his eyes glued to the scene before him.

The young woman could already see herself pawing at death's door. It would happen quite literally soon enough if she didn't find that sneaky rascal!

For the past 10 minutes she had been running around Whisper Cavern's territory, her muzzle practically glued to the to the ground. One simple thing. One. Her life practically revolved around keeping Nari's pups safe and out of trouble. And she couldn't even manage that.

The young woman winced as she imagined her alpha's anger pouring down on not only her, but the whole pack. And she didn't even want to think of Sloane. With renewed fervor, she continued to try and find Malia's scent.

A loud sigh of relief heaved through and out of her petite form as her muzzle breathed in the princess' scent. No time for dilly daddling, her long legs immediately followed the fading smell. To her surprise, not only did Minka's scent mix in with the young girl's, but Asterion's also.

Pushing herself to go faster, the scene that she arrived to not only surprised her, but angered her as well. The direction that she had been running from made her appear right behind Asterion. But back to the point, who did this stranger think she was to attack her friend?! Fortunately, Minka could hold her own.

Ever since the young scout was a pup, she had learned to never jump into someone else's fight. It didn't matter if they were friend or family, when you were in a scuffle, you were on your own.

The girl watched as her friend turned around, heading toward the girl that had escaped all of their sharp eyes. Inali flicked her tail irritably, and walked up beside Minka's mate, or whatever they were. With a flick of her tail, aiming to brush against his own, she announced her presence. But her blue orbs were flicking back and forth, between the stranger and Minka.

She asked herself, why did she turn around?! That was the stupidest move you could make during a fight. It left you vulnerable, unprotected. It was like handing a wolf a freebie to easily catch you off guard and go for the kill.

I couldn't restrain myself and wait for the roll, hope this is okay. <3

When the bitch’s insulting words were thrown into her face, her lips pealed back to reveal her teeth which were now dripping with blood thirsty saliva. The woman could not remember the last time she had went on a hunt and the thought of sinking her teeth into another’s flesh was…intoxicating. Before she could make any move to do so though a paw hit her forcefully in the jaw, causing her to knock back and for the woman to end up on top of her. At the words that were spoken even more rage filled up within her as she snapped her powerful jaws in the woman’s face, "What the fuck do you think I was doing, dumbass!? " Pushing her off of herself, she watched as Minka turned her back on her opponent and towards Malia. Jessie of course, wouldn’t have it and immediately jumped in the way, shoving Minka’s body out of the way with her shoulder so that she could protectively stand over Malia, her stance screaming protection.

A menacing growl erupted from her muzzle, her stance low as she hovered protectively over the child, just like a mother would her own. "You are neither Sloane nor Narimé and I suggest until one of them get here you need to get the hell away from me and Malia." Her small body was enough to cover the small pup, but at the same time, she kept her jade eyes alert on her surroundings, suddenly noticing how two other wolves from their “pack” had followed up. Maybe they really were trying to kidnap the poor pup and gathered the others, but when they heard her call, had come to investigate what was wrong. Jessie trusted none of them, and her bared canines and defensive, aggressive posture proved such. Hopefully, Minka would have enough sense and respect to back down from a fight that both of them could avoid. It was obvious that Jessie and Hotei weren’t leaving anytime soon, at least not until Sloane or Narimé came to collect their child. So far the only thing that had proven a threat to Jessie had been the woman in front of her, and if it meant defending her friends’ pup until she knew for sure, then that’s what it is going to be.

Oh so much happened in oh so little time. Kasai had been waiting for the pup to answer him when another scent crossed his nose coming from the direction of Hush Meadow. The dark male recognized Whisper Caverns pack smell. He watched a red hued woman hurry towards them and realized that her body showed stress and aggression. It was clear that the stranger had scented her packs pup with them.

Shifting himself into a submissive position Kasai was about to flick Jessie's side and gesture for them to leave. Now that the packs here we aren't needed. However the stranger loudly threatened them to get away from the little pup. Kasai lowered his head happy to leave Malia with her pack mate. However to his right Jessie snarled back at the Whisper Caverns wolf stepping over the pup protectively.

"Jessie it's fine to-" The dark male was cut off by the she wolfs words being thrown back to the red hued woman. Mate? He thought somewhat quizzically. Then after a few seconds of thought Kasai remembered that he had claimed her right in front of the Sloane Thorben male. Shrugging to himself and a little proud of the new title "mate" Kasai watched the two woman attentively

Then the red female flung an insult back that made his lips rise into a menacing snarl. His jet black fur prickled raising along the burnt mans spine as he stood watching the ladies little dominance scuffle. "It's not like you are the girls parents either now are you?." The Willow wolf growled deeply towards Minka but did not make a move towards Malia. Even if he hated the way the red woman was acting Kasai knew that she was Malia's babysitter. She had every right to be protective over the pup.

His eyes dashed to the form of another wolf appearing out of the woodwork. A male this time. Instantly Kasai moved away from Malia and towards Jessie raising his head and tail watching the other mans movements. Kasai would let Jessie fight her own fights, but he would protect her with his life should another wolf try to jump in the pair of she wolves scuffle.

"Stay where you are." Kasai ordered the Whisper Caverns male while throwing up his ears towards the man in his own display. The burnt man stepped between Jessie and Asterion protectively then stood and waited tensely for whatever might happen around him.

Out of the corner of his yellow eyes Kasai saw his woman step back and stand over Malia once more. Sighing to himself and shaking his head the black wolf looked back to their opponents noticing that a third Whisper Caverns wolf had arrived. "Jessie.. Think about it. Three on two's not good. Besides they are Malia's pack mates even if they are not her parents. I'm sure she'll be safe with them.." He tried to keep his voice deep and calm in order to help calm his gray little spitfire woman standing just behind him. She didn't seemed to be thinking too well at the moment. Is it because a child is involved? The male wondered if Jessie's mothering instincts were making her more overprotective of a pup that wasn't even hers.

Malia was about to reply to the affirmative that yes, indeed, she was "top dog" around her brothers because they were such pushovers, when something happened that the small pup was certainly not expecting. Scents of a pack mate flooded her nose and Malia knew she had been found out. It was probably because this Kasai guy had howled for them, and the girl could not help but shoot an angry glance towards the large male. However, he did not seem to be looking and was instead focused on the argument that was now occurring between Jessie and Minka, Malia's own packmate. The pup could do nothing but watch as the two insulted each other, calling each other names that the young Thorben did not understand. At the yelling of the two, the Whisper Caverns wolf could not help but try to make herself smaller, so overwhelmed by this situation that had never happened before.

More and more wolves began appearing from the woods, coming towards the group. These were all her packmates also, she knew, and were probably in charge of finding her if they had noticed she was gone already. Jessie and Minka were still fighting, already past blows. They seemed to take turns standing above her as if they were momma- which neither of them were. A soft whimper escaped from the jaws of the adventurous character despite herself. For once in her young life it seemed like Malia had lost her voice. "Speech"

Tawny ears flicked backwards when they heard the sound of approaching paws, her nose confirmed that it was Asterion and Inali who had entered the clearing, but the sound of movement ceased and they came no further. Minka felt much more confident with their arrival, she had never been skilled in fighting but with the backup of her pack mates they were sure to be able to retrieve the pup without difficulty. Feeling the salt and pepper woman shove past her the fae's hackles rose and her teeth barred, but she made no movement forwards to strike, Jessie had gone too close to the pup for Minka to risk it. The man she didn't know spoke a voice of reason and the huntress could only hope the woman would be mindful of it, really this had all escalated so quickly, they seemed to be moving at breakneck speeds even at a standstill.

This all changed at the sound of the whimper, now all of Minka's senses locked down on Malia. The girl seemed frightened and overwhelmed, she had no way to know what was going on, this kind of thing would have never happened to her before. Golden eyes shot a look to the salt and pepper woman, clearly conveying that she was still furious at the situation but that they would be unable to continue with the pup still here. Crouching down the huntress brought her head down to eye level of the girl and did her best to smile a comforting smile, "Oh Malia, how about we go home to Momma now? Would you like that?" The woman smiled once more before standing, it was up to the girl now what they would do.

It seemed so reasonable, what he was saying behind her. She couldn’t shake the feeling of unease off of her. She even knew what it was that was holding her back….Rissa. Ever since Aiyana had returned to them and spoken the words…and then the body, the bloody body. She knew she couldn’t let that happen to anyone else’s pup, especially one of her own friend’s pups; it was also why she did not move from her position. Glaring at Minka, the continued to stand over Malia, the little girls whimpering causing her to feel as though she should have made sure she had not trampled the pour thing. When Minka tried to come closer the salt and peppered color woman sank further down, her lips peeling back at the subordinate in front of her. Her voice seemed sincere enough, but she couldn’t shake that feeling. Rissa had been kidnapped from Swift River’s noses and they had all suffered for it. Didn’t Hotei…or Kasai just understand? She couldn’t let that happen ever again, but these bitches were making it even harder. Where was Sloane or Narimé? Had they done something to the pups?

With a defeated sigh, she looked towards the other “pack mates” her position still weary and her eyes flashing back and forth between the pairs. Clenching her teeth she growled out lowly, but load enough for the rest of them to hear, a compromise, "Malia can be escorted back to her parents…as long as I come with you…I don’t trust you, and I’m not leaving until I personally see to it that Malia is with either Sloane or Narimé." That was the best they were going to get from her as she stood protectively over the child. It may have been motherly instincts within her, but she knew it was mostly because of what happened with Corinna’s last litter. Had they not heard why they had been in a war? Were they so foolish to think that she wouldn’t remember, and hadn’t she told Minka that something similar to this had happened not too long ago? Emerald orbs glared holes into the Cavern’s subordinate. Ever since last year she had learned extremely well not to take anyone for granted.
