The downpour that had caught the two wolves unaware and sent them to find shelter had finally abated, leaving Spectre to wake at the sudden sound of silence. It was a far different cry than the thundering roar of the rain pounding against the bark of the hollowed tree. Frowning, the pale creature pulled herself from the world of dreams, unable to hold on to the dream she'd been having. It slipped away as if in a fog she couldn't hold onto. Ice blue eyes blinked blearily as she yawned, feeling her jaws crack with the gesture. Spectre looked around and realized quite quickly that she was not in the pack den, nor was she alone. A faint blush crept up her cheeks, hidden by her fur as she realized that with the cramped quarters, she had become quite comfortably nestled next to her alpha.
Frowning, Spectre made a move as if to rouse the male from his slumber so they could return to the pack, but paused when she saw the line of mixed fur where their sides touched. It was...oddly entrancing to stare at the furs resting against one another. A soft exhalation of breath from her lungs sent both dark and light hair ruffling, mixing into shades of grey. She felt the smile stretching her muzzle and almost rested her head back on her paws to take advantage of the comfortable sleeping arrangements, but her conscience got the better of her. Sighing, Spectre shifted, nosing Shade's shoulder before she disengaged herself from their puppy pile to stand, stretching stiff limbs. "The rain has stopped, Shade.. We should return to Pitch Pine."
