She struggled until she couldn't breathe anymore. Until black dots clouded her vision. Until her mind grew numb and no more thoughts could drift into her head because of her lack of oxygen. Until her body grew limp and she was simply at the brink of death. Darkness was clouding all around her and she was loathe to embrace it but there was no other choice.
Inali didn't wake up until much later. The scout woke up with a gasp and then proceeded to practically cough out her lungs trying to take in as much air into her deprived lungs and brain as possible. Once she recovered from her fit and could breathe normally again, her mind fuzzily brought back the images of what happened. Yuka choking her. Not stopping. Her almost dying. His last words.
He actually tried to do it. Yuka almost killed her. She didn't think he would actually go through with it. Still, she didn't think he was a monster. Yuka was a troubled young man, and she was determined to lead him out of the darkness. But, just because she was determined to be the light in his darkness, like her mother had been to her, didn't mean she was pissed. The boy actually tried to fricken kill her! Huffing angrily, the small woman stood on all fours and headed back to her lands. No one would know of her visit and hopefully Yuka would keep his trap shut. She would be back, and since he thought she was dead, this could very well work in Inali's favor.
