@Miccah There are an unusual number of foxes being sighted around Relic Lore. Foxes are attacking Ashanti. There are three of them and she has one of them by the throat while one is biting/tearing at her back and the other got thrown off by about three feet. <3

She had been peacefully collecting herbs, still recovering from the fight with Kite for the rank (results still undetermined). She hadn't even noticed the scent of the russet brown creatures through the musky scent of all the different medicinal tools she had collected until the three of them were right in front of her. "Oh shit." She cursed as she slowly started to back up. "Fuck. Fuck." She stated again with her eyes wide. One fox, she could handle. Two foxes, it would be highly difficult but she could still manage to stay intact. Three foxes she definitely couldn't fight alone. Her eyes would not reflect her fear but her sheer will to survive as she let out a yelp.

One of them had lunged forward at her and bit her in the upper right leg. "Help." She called out as she prepared to fight. She would snarl as loud as she could before launching at one of the foxes, the one who had bit her, aiming right for the jugular on it's beck so she could rip it's throat out. The other foxes leapt at her, tearing at her back near her shoulder blades and she bit back tears as she tried to shake them off. She needed help fast or it was quite clear she would not make it out of this. Her herbs were scattered across the ground now as she had dropped them to defend herself from the attacking predators. She would exhale and inhale deeply and loudly as she managed to shake one of the foxes off.

Miccah was at the borders, like usual. But this time, he was simultaneously leaving his scent while trying to track down the vermin he had sworn he had seen too many times already in his lands. "Stupid foxes," he murmured. Continuing on his border patrol, he saw another streak of red and that's when the ebony alpha thought enough was enough. Abandoning his border patrol, for their were two other guardians to protect the lands for a couple minutes, Miccah made it his mission to exterminate these vermin once and for all. At least for now so he wouldn't have to deal with them the rest of the day. Hopefully. With surefooted steps, the male kept himself to the shadows and his muzzle to the ground. He caught sight of a fox and immediately burst into a run, determined to catch at least one vermin. He could worry about the others later.

That's when he heard her.

Miccah whipped his head around, his body immediately becoming tense. Running to where he percieved her to be, he heavily depended on his sense of smell as he continued to follow Ashanti's scent. When he came to the scene, a growl ripped through him. He didn't think that he had been avoiding her for a long time now. He didn't think that each time he was near her, it was like multiple stabs into his heart, He didn't think that though she didn't remember him, he still remembered her, and he loved her just as strongly as when he had first laid eyes on her when they were children. All he thought about was that he needed to save her, or she would die.

Quickly his eyes roved over the scene, noticing that she had one in her jaws, there was one on her back, and one toppled on the ground nearby. Wanting to go straight for the one at her back, the ebony male restrained himself. He had to be smart. Heading to the one nearest him, the fox on the ground, he worked it to his advantage. Swooping down, his strong jaws were wrapped around the vermin's neck and in seconds, he had gotten a firm grip and snapped it's neck. Immediately he let the dead fox fall and ran towards Ashanti, grabbing the fox on on her back by the hind legs. With a firm grip, he tugged strongly and he heard it's pained yowl as one of it's legs broke. Distracted, the fox stopped attacking and Miccah easily removed it from Ashanti's back. The vermin would breathe his last for hurting his past beloved.

She was relieved beyond belief when Miccah showed up and quickly disposed of the fox on the sidelines while trying to get the other one off of her back. Blood seeped out of the wounds and she hissed as she quickly snapped the neck of the last red fox that was lurking about. It was the one she had by the neck and she had killed it. She looked over, the wounds stinging slightly as she turned to see that Miccah was quickly dealing with the last one. The man who had avoided her for so long, the man she was starting to remember, he had been the one to answer her pleas for help. It had not been Nina or any of the official pack guardians. It had been him.

She had started to remember bits of her childhood though only the peaceful stuff. There was a memory of her running into a jet black pup of her age at the borders. A pup who would grow to be her best friend and perhaps even more. It was different then the memories she had recovered in her fight with Kite. They were happier. In her fight with Kite she had remembered Nina comforting her... a lot. There was one of her curled up on the borders in a ball and Nina trying to calm her down. There was a black wolf next to her, she remembered that, but it wasn't Miccah. Then there was the memory of her her finding Miccah, or more of Miccah finding her, again. She had remembered that too.

Aideen had told her about her son and Ashanti was partially scared that she was going to recover memories of her incident. She just hoped it wasn't true.

She turned to him, the man she realized as she went on that she loved. Not that she did love or had loved, but she loved, and managed to croak out a few words as the wounds on her back stung a bit more. "I remember you." It was all she could say. The only words that she could manage to croak out as she had a desperate and needy look in her eye. She needed him to know that she remembered.

They both made quick work of the foxes and as all of them met their death, Miccah moved to dispose of them. As he worked he could feel Ashanti's stare, and he hated every second of it. Now that he was thinking clearly, the pain came back to him with a vengeance. The constant onslaught on his heart was getting tiring. He wanted to leave, continue avoiding her like he had been doing for the past couple of months. As he turned to leave, not even wanting to acknowledge her presence with words (for it hurt too much), her croaked words stopped him dead in his tracks.

"I remember you."

Before he could force his body not to, his large frame turned quickly as he faced her. He could see it, the truth in her eyes. Her beautiful, light blue eyes. Without realizing it, his guard had come down. His walls, which he had worked so hard to construct, crumbled with three little words. He didn't want to think of what her words could mean, though he could see it in her eyes. Warmth was in his gaze and he even took a small step forward in her direction with a shaky breath of what? Relief, happiness? That's what snapped him from his daze. No, he didn't need this right now. This was nothing too be happy about. He was no longer a lovesick pup nor a grown lovesick fool searching for a dream that would never happen. Life had bowled him over too many times now. He had become slightly cynical and he didn't want to think of what Ashanti's words could mean for them. He almost recoiled. There was no them. And there wouldn't be. Like shutters, the emotions once present in his eyes closed shut. His features were once again an emotionless mask. "You're wounded," was the only thing he rumbled with no trace of the storm raging inside him. It was just a simple statement. Not looking at her, he moved with steady steps and gently gathered her herbs together. It was the least he could do.

He ignored her words, letting his guard down for just a moment before it fell up again and it ached. It had stung because she actually knew why he had been avoiding her for so long. He made a blank comment about her being wounded and started to pick up her herbs. She sighed, the pain evident in her eyes as she leaned down to aid in the recovering. She didn't know how to move on so when she had collected the rest of the herbs she looked at him, setting them in a pile below her. "Why are you constantly avoiding me Miccah?" She asked with the pain hidden within her eyes. If he was going to shut himself out from her life because of something that happened beyond her control then she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of letting him know how much it hurt her.

She started to ignore the pain in her back because it was nothing compared to what she had been feeling for a while. She felt alone, more alone then ever despite the fact that she was surrounded by friends and family. She close her eyes, fighting back the emotions that were trying to make themselves known as she looked at the ground. "When I came back, I found this place because of you. I... I started to remember. I remember when I first met you, just pups along the border. I convinced my mum to take you in because you didn't have a family anymore. I don't know what to do anymore." She started, her voice shaky as she looked at him, letting the pain show. Sure he had glanced when he let his guard down. Now though... He wouldn't even look at her. He didn't care.
