Aestyn’s counterpart cohort seemed to be vexed that was definitely obvious to the naked eye. Foxes were bothersome and she had never actually encountered one of the wretched flaming orange creatures; that ever liked to play by the food chain game. Though, the irritating foxes were much smaller than most wolves they were wily and devious. Most were unafraid to make bold choices with their nippy little feet and sharp little incisors. Being as Aestyn bared the similar hoyden behavior traits of a daring fox minus the annoying tendencies; it caused her to have an advantage over them besides her sheer size. She knew how they thought. An oversupply of a smirk seeped unto her previously solemn glare. The beady eyed fox stared straight at her; maybe it sensed her fox-like persona? Being the comic that she was, her smirk disappearing as her ivories snapped to attention.
Aestyn’s daggers bore keenly as an unexpected pointed bark startled the fox as it ducked behind its protecting timber. A muffled huff hung in the atmosphere in amusement. Jester had clearly stumbled upon this orange puff before now. ” Ahh, so you know each other? Not to worry, I can get rid of it.” her gaze shifted back hastily back to the fox who now was lurking closer to them coming away from the protection of its tree. Jester was positioning himself to pounce. She mimicked his actions as her haunches hunkered down. Suddenly, he turned back behind him as his laugh slipped past her ears. Wondering only for a second what the laughter was from until he answered her silent question. ”I could always go back for seconds.” she spoke in a whispering hushed tone. Jester crept forward slowly as he circled around one of the first trees in the obstacle course. Aestyn stayed behind for back up waiting until he cleared the first timber. Suddenly, in utter shock Jester jumped back nearly toppling on top of her. The fox had snuck up on them both while they were distracted.
”Smooth move, Fox” her vocals were laced with venom. The fox now headed straight for her head on. Her crouching arrangement remained steadfast as her instincts overwhelmed her as the blades protruded bearing once again but, this time it was carried out with a forceful snarl. One opportunity laid before her she had one chance to make a deadly head on ambush with the fox. Heavy tensions from her haunches were released like springs as she attacked; suddenly hopefully giving the fox no wiggle room to have escaped from her pounce. She was successful but just barely. Slicing daggers gripped one of the flame colored ears as she gave it a hard tug. The fox screeched as it twisted it’s torso around and clenched onto her left paw gnawing on it with his wielding and jagged teeth as the game dropped to the draped forest floor. Hoping Jester had recovered from his recent scare, she glanced in his direction wincing as the foxes ivories sunk deeper into her padder.
