It had been some time since Rayne had last been here, at the hot springs as he wound his way between the trees. In fact, it was when he was speaking with Silver about joining her pack. But he hadn't seen her since really, only glimpses here and there. The pack wasn't very big and though it would be easy to avoid each other, it seemed one would still glimpse the other. Rayne wondered how she was going, if she still wanted him to prove himself but he supposed that their not meeting at all was his fault. Even after joining the pack, he still felt a little ashamed and guilty for leaving without a word to her and hadn't wanted to show his face to her. But a sadness also settled in his heart, for he felt he had left whatever it was they had fester until it slowly faded away into non existence. Silver deserved better, deserved more then him and if she had someone who loved her and that she loved well, who was he to stop her?

Settling at the edge of the hot springs, Rayne stared into the water and wondered what it would be like to just...disappear, to evanesce away on ebb and flow of the water. What would happen to him if he did? There was no one on the mountain that he knew personally, no one who cared for him and would care if he left. The water was hot against his skin as he treaded carefully into it until it was up to his chest, leaving him to look curiously into the water. The water swirled gently around his legs and tugged softly at his fur, taking away the dirt that had accumulated over the course of the past few weeks. Oh, he had eaten and slept but he had slowly stopped caring about his appearance, slowly letting it go and letting his coat match his sister, Senka's normally disheveled coat, though it was far beyond what she would let it.

For whatever reason, Rayne didn't feel like himself. After all that had happened since he had arrived here-the fights with the mysterious dark male who had hurt his leg almost beyond repair, his sister, Neoma having ordered the second attack that nearly took his leg and feeling as if he had lost Silver and he had no idea if Senka was still around or if she had grown tired of the land already and left it, he wondered; Would anyone notice if he left too?

Ace Caravello

For all the time he has spent living in the foothills of the mountain, the Silver Male had yet to explore the inner workings of Lost Lake. It was mostly because another pack lived there and he had absolutely no intention of starting an accidental rift between the two packs, but this day he felt like going closer and finding out what lay near the lake. Padding up the not-so-steep incline through the layer of freezing and slushy snow, Ace kept his guard up and on the lookout for other wolves. If he met one of the pack wolves he'd rather know it beforehand rather than bumping into them and provoking something. It was always good to be wary about wolves in another pack as one had no idea what they were like.

He smelled the rich scent of a hot spring long before he saw it, and upon reaching the crest of the incline and paused, his silver eyes scanning the area. The hot springs were surrounded by partially melted snow from the heat rising from the water, but that wasn't what caught his attention. A large russet male up to his chest in the spring did, and one that held the thick aroma of the other pack. Ace was not sure if the other male had seen him yet, and he would like to start the conversation on friendly terms, so he woofed loudly to announce his presence. Padding closer to the spring, the Silver Male stopped at the very edge, feeling the warm water soak his nearly numb front paws. The large russet male's coat was disheveled, not disheveled as in just a bit dirty, but as in he had stopped caring about his appearance. "Hello?" Ace called out to the male, his tail swishing behind him amicably and his stance neutral. They were closer to the other male's pack, and he would rather be more submissive and have a friendly interaction than leave on unfriendly terms. "My name is Ace Caravello, Second beneath Phineas from Silent Moon Plateau. Who are you?"
