Borden Lyall
June 28th; Late Afternoon; Partly Cloudy; 71 ° F, 22 ° C

Napping in shade for only minutes at a time had done little to figuratively charge the Leader's rusted batteries. Even if the sun did not beat down on the Lore as it typically did at this time of day, Borden found that it was still much too warm to be up and about. He had forgotten Rook's name the other day and it had unfortunately sent the youth darting in the other direction out of remorse and an obvious need to stay out of his father's way. This had left the aging patriarch with only his own company to keep; and, knowing better than to run off towards the borders to patrol and visit all the landmarks that were once familiar, he retreated to the old half-tree.

Scents were strewn about the area, heavy and thick as each one in turn visited the site here and there throughout the day. It brought him comfort and a small smile on his silvered face - and for now that was all the Lyall needed. His heavy paws brought him to the entrance of the underground burrow where the dry gnarled roots framed a wolf-sized entryway. Had he been a bit more nimble in his advanced age, he might have retreated inside but his old injuries prevented him from doing so. He settled for laying just beside it, sprawling out on his side to relax the rest of the day away and keep at the back everyone else's minds. If anyone thought to seek him out, he would be here, keeping on his best behavior...

Titan Thorben
August 13th, 2015

Titan had gone around taking stock of the herbs growing in the territory and within the packs storage area. The herbal den smelled strongly of another male and of herbs, and this made Titan wonder if there was another healer in their ranks. He would have to seek out the male and chat one day when he had time. Right now though he was making rounds through and around the territory to make sure everything was all okay. The scents of Ryvet, Rook, Cinder, and Quil spread out like a map around the landscape. Even the scent of a pup graced his senses making Titan ache. The dark Thorben had promised to help Rook with his father, though it was becoming more and more apparent that Borden was going down a slippery path that ended in his death. Once Borden did pass on, Titan was not sure what he should do. Danica had told him about Daniel, and Titan didn't want to be like his won father. He wanted to be there for Daniel, even if he wasn't a leader. he just wanted to be around. To just be liked by his son was one of the goals Titan had gripped onto. However it was hard to be there for the dark child. Going back and forth from one pack to another just to visit and bring gifts was very hard to do, and it took away from the time he should be working on Borden and making sure the elder Lyall took his medicine.

Titan now ventured to the main den with his mind whirling. The scent of pup grew stronger, and for a moment Titan thought that the little Attaya-Lyall would be around. However as he entered the den it seemed that @Tomen was around at the moment. Titan smirked remembering the adventures he had gone on as a pup. Those adventures had given his mother a heart attack more than once. The dark Thorben figured that Quil or Rook probably wouldn't want their child out and about wandering on their own away from the den, so he moved to investigate the scent. Then his tail wagged a bit as he found @Rooks scent crossing over Tomen's. It appeared that Rook was either taking the pup out for a walk or was following the child to keep an eye on him.

The tranquil picture of a father keeping an eye on his son, plus the knowledge that Rook still had Borden around overwhelmed Titan for a moment. He felt torn and sad at the same time. Deep in his heart he wished that his own father had stayed around. Despite being true to his word and helping Rook with Borden, Titan really really just wanted to be with Danica and Daniel. However that would be truly dishonorable, and Titan knew that he couldn't do that to his best friend Rook.

Veho Macieo

It took a day or two for his snout to heal enough to use it, much to Veho’s utter chagrin. Were he his own patient, he probably would have insisted the wounds could use another day or two of rest. Only just closed, he risked opening each wound every time he used his muzzle – the wounds themselves were not wide or long, but deep, very deep, puncture wounds as a last parting gift from that damnable porcupine before he had left it sleeping on the river banks. Idly, the male wondered if he should have eaten the body, if only to spite the animal further. (That, and he was dreadfully opposed to waste.) Neither reason seemed to encourage him, however, and now that he was feeling a bit better, the male made his way to some of the common grounds among Grizzly Hollow’s land.

Unfortunately, the rodent had made quite a large dent in the pack’s stockpile before the medicine man had found him and pulled the invader from what little was left of their stores. @Titan had done a fine job reorganizing the disarray while the older medic was still healing, and though they’d yet to build any sort of barricade to keep any other greedy rodents out, Veho knew they had to replenish their stocks as quickly as possible. Winter was coming, and they did not have long before everything was wilted and dead, too far gone to be dried and stored properly. Lifting his head, the man put up a call for any local packmates. With another pair or eyes or two, they could work much more quickly, and better prepare themselves for the coming winter.

Hocus Lyall
'jess tryin' to make the AC lol
There is an active change in the Northern Lights! The sky lights up in greens, blues, and even shades of purple.

Normally he was not out this late at night. He practiced a very tight, god-fearing schedule in which he rose and set with the light of his Lord. But he could feel the energy out in the wild air of Relic Lore tonight. His own home back in the Meadow was too out of the way for a thing like this, but Hocus, reaching back into his childhood, tasted the familiar memory on the tip of his tongue. He could remember with clarity the crackling, shimmering lights in the sky beyond the clouds. It had been, perhaps, his first brush against the pelt of his God. For who else could tear apart a rainbow, twist it stretch it, to wave it about like some artful snake in the sky? Surely there had to be a reason for this, a reason for everything

Instead of naive awe, the man gazed up into the brilliant display with respect. Maybe a little fear. Because if God could pull apart a rainbow then, certainly, he could tease apart all matter. Everything was broken down. All matter existed only for God, for God's plans and intentions and enjoyment. He felt honored to be a witness to God's more playful, more joyous attitudes. A sigh slipped from his mouth.

He wished he could share it with Piety.

He wished he was any closer to solving the mystery. Any mystery.

Titan Thorben
Titan wandered near to the pack's den wondering if Rook was nearby. The young Lyall, his friend and once his alpha, had been odd for a long time now. Titan didn't know what to think of it, but his unwavering loyalty kept him rooted in this forested place. Without Danica in his life, and his son Daniel, Titan had nothing else to do with himself. He had no dreams, no hopes, and nothing else to strive for other than loyalty to his pack. He had completed his duty and finished helping Rook with Borden up until the Lyall patriarch grew too old and sick to continue living. Now that Borden was gone his connection to Rook was severed. Though they still remained friends, or at least he thought they were still friends; Titan felt nothing else keeping him attached to this pack and place other than the morals and rules his mother had beaten into his brain.

"Loyalty to your pack is of the highest priority..." He always remembered her saying. Especially after the whole Minka, Inali, and Tokino conundrum. Narime had taught her children that the pack came before everything else, even your friends and family. If there was one thing he had learned from his mother it was loyalty to Grizzly Hollow pack even when no strings kept him attached to the place anymore. He would stay, and simply live, until something came along or happened that helped him to feel as if he truly belonged here.

Tomen Attaya-Lyall
It was a strange thing but he found he couldn't help it. There had just been something about the way one of the morning birds had rocked out a beat that had been stuck in his head all day, and as Tomen moved towards the den, a thin woodchuck in his mouth and a spring in every third step as the tune ran through his head over and over. Surely he would get bored of it soon! ... but it hadn't for the last three hours so who knew. At the very least he had promised not to inflict the ear worm on anyone else, but he was unconsciously humming it as he walked.

"Mmmmh!" he said in happy surprise as the dark form of Titan came into view, until he remembered the animal in his mouth and that those hadn't actually been words. Trotting over to the den, he tossed his catch inside (secretly deeply deeply proud of it but he didn't like to gloat) and turned to his large packmate, the rhythm travelling to the beat of his tail. "Hey man," he said, not really noticing Titan's state of distraction. "What's up?"

Nauja Mizuno
attempts to make the ac

She was not really interested in meeting the new wolves in the territory. Never in her life had she been so clingy, but she tried to cling to @Niq'x, to @Pip but both of them tired of her presence quickly. As a result the black gull was left to prowl the cedars alone, looking for a source of water but finding nothing but snow puddles. Fog wrapped itself around her, but it was so light compared to the mists of her home, full of salt and thicker than seaweed most of the time.

With every paw step she told herself that she needed to get over it, all of it. There was nothing about their situation that she had an impact on besides her own sour attitude. And frankly, she had never been so sour for so long in her life. This was not who she was, nor who she had ever wanted to be. And things needed to change. She needed a job, she needed some water. Fish. No, she needed to find something knew, something about this place that she could love. Nothing could make her forget Bella Coola, but at the very least she needed something to distract her from the constant pining. She needed some fun in her life again.

But what? And where?

Nineva Hervok

oh yeah your skin and bones

She wasted no time in hunting @Veho down, and luckily the man was easy to locate. Nineva found him about the main den, and an excited chuff was sent his way to get his attention. Everything about her posture showed that she really, really wanted to share something with him.

"Veho! Veho, I just," she called out, voice slightly breathless from the sprint through the territory. When she was close enough she came to a stop and took a few breaths. "I just ran into Deacon. Deacon Lyall, uh Archer-Lyall. He used to live with me, when we were at the Caverns. He wants to visit the Ridge, to check up on his parents, and he invited me to go. And I, I would really like to. Elettra used to be allied with my parents, I've wanted to talk to her for some while, but I know that... I mean we've seemed to always be pretty unclear on where we stood with them? I thought... Veho, I'd like to do this as a scouting mission. Maybe... well... what do you think?"

It was very likely there was plenty of information she didn't know about the tensions between themselves and the Ridge wolves, and perhaps Veho would be quick to shut down her proposition due to that. But what if it really was just a lack of communication keeping them at this stand off? What if one trip with Deacon could help them all breath easier?

Veho Macieo
Veho had stolen a few moments to himself.  Now that the puppies were getting older, it was easier to tuck away for a half hour or so, be it for a quick nap in the sun or to allow himself a short session for meditation.  Those brief minutes of peace and reflection had done wonders for his outlook on life – but that ray of sunshine might have had something to do with Rook’s return from Renegade’s Reach, too.

“Nineva,” he greeted the younger wolf, getting to his feet.  His ears flicked forward, and before he could think to ask how she was or what she might need, the yearling burst into a small speech.

It took a moment for the whole cluster of words to process, the wolf blinking pale eyes twice as the gears turned.  Eventually, it did seem to click.  “Ah!  I am glad you have been out and about,” he murmured, a smile growing across his lips.  Ah, but what she was asking – that was a bit more ambitious, wasn’t it?  And he didn’t know this Deacon fellow at all…  The alpha hummed softly.  “You make a good argument for a trip, I suppose.  I would ask you use your best judgment in what information you share, given previous…issues with the pack.  How long do you intend to be away from the Hollow?”
