Nauja Mizuno
@Tyne @Niq'x sorry for the wait e_e beginning of the week is a little hard
Tyne took a backseat to the proceedings. He wasn't family, anyway.

A few weeks? Too long indeed. Nauja's lips pulled back in a sneer, mirroring Niq'x own distaste for the idea. Land-dweller packs might suffice for Blitz and Kelp — who were both realists in a way— but what did they expect born and bred fishers like herself and her cousin to do? Starve to death? Nauja had no interest staying here any longer than was necessary to get her bearings and head west. "Agreed," the dark wolf mumbled.

And to the question Nauja sniffed neatly. "Last I remember I was down for a nap and suddenly I wake up here. With a headache." A small frown wore at the corners of her lips. More than anything Nauja wanted to be helpful, but it was becoming increasingly evident that there was nothing she could do. There was no way to riddle out their situation when her brain was as swirled as a tidal pool. The only way for her to help was to get them all back home as quick as she could. Her limbs stiffened with frustration.

She sent a vague glance in Tyne's direction, wondering if he had anything else to offer but doubting it all the same. Her eyes slid back to her cousin, "And what have you been doing, if not looking for a pack with your brother and his friend?"

OOC: @Nauja Its all good, totally understandable :)

He didn’t know the dark female very well from home for a couple of reasons; one being that she was a year older than he and the fact that she was a fisher and he was a hunter. Despite their new acquaintance Tyne couldn’t help feel like she didn’t really like him all that much. He didn’t understand why she would feel that way towards him, he hadn’t done anything. The agouti male decided that his feelings couldn’t possibly be right so he decided to not pay attention to any of it.

Niq’x seemed to be excited they were there however whatever pleasant feeling she had quickly dissipated when she began talking about this new strange land. She had been here for a few weeks with her brother. “The last I remember was hunting for the packs cache when I heard commotion on the beach. When I got there everyone was running, so naturally I turned tail and ran too. Then I woke up here”. Nauja looks at the yearling vaguely before asking Niq’x had been up to with her brother seeking a pack. Seeking a pack seemed like logical step naturally but both women were highly against it. Tyne understood their resentment to land wolves, even though he was a hunter, the yearling felt the most at home in the sand and sea foam.

The cold of the snow beneath his large paws and rear end began to seep into his awareness. He wasn’t use to this amount of snow. He fidgeted, trying to alleviate the sensation. His tail twitched behind him as one ear stayed pointed towards Niq’x while one rotated around as to catch any sounds coming from around them.

<3 no worries! also, we can wrap this up whenever you guys see fit :) can always get another thread going with what their plans are

At least her cousin was on the same page—she understood that fishers couldn’t be around so much grass and trees. Her brother, on the other hand, was a hunter just like Tyne. They thrived for this shit, whereas her and Nauja needed to feel the water between their toes and the soft crunch of a fish between their jaws.

The sparrow-coloured female listened patiently as her cousin and the hunter explain what they remembered about that day. She shivered at the thought, her mind being haunted by the thoughts of her family shouting. What had taken them—and why? The thought irritated her the longer she was away from her home; out of all the places she could have been relocated to, it had to be this one? She exhaled sharply at the thought, her mix-matched eyes focusing on the pair before her. At least they had each other—that’s what was important.

Another question was tossed her way by her cousin, this time asking her what she had been up to instead of pack hunting. “Avoiding these tree-huggers,” she sneered in response with a playful wag of her tail. “Just trying to figure out how to get back to the coast… and attempting to keep Blitz out of trouble.” Her brother, the hothead—and she was always the mediator. “If we’re all here I’m hoping Pip is too; she doesn’t do so well on her own,” she added with a worried tone, her lips dipped into a frown as she studied her packmates.

yeah sure we can finish this one up and move to like...the lagoon?

A commotion on the beach? With some effort and some squinty eyes, Nauja was able to vaguely recall that she had been woken from her nap by the cries of her family. But if there had been trouble, why had she fallen asleep again? Nauseous guilt bubbled in her stomach and she felt vaguely ill. The fogginess in her head that had begun to dissipate began to cloud and throb all over again with the effort of remembering. Tyne had run. From what?

Nauja nodded, though she felt the need to insert her opinion in. "It might be good to talk to them, though, the land-dwellers. They might know a good way out of here." Nauja herself could identify east from west well enough. The problem was what if something insurmountable rose up in their path? Her eyes drifted slowly to the east where the landscape was dominated by some of the largest mountains she had seen in her entire life. If anything like that stood between here and the coast, she would very much like to know about it. Or any other large bodies of water that would be hard to get around. Though, this land looked pretty dry.

Her cousin had a point about Pip, though. As her other cousin-fellow-fisher, Nauja had plenty of first-hand experience with the tiny, easily frightened younger sister of Niq'x. With a tight-lipped frown on her face, Nauja nodded again, "I hope she was dropped with someone else from the pack. That would make things easier." If she and Tyne and Blitz and Kelp had come as pairs it was possible that Pip would have been paired with someone as well, possibly.

"Do you have a den?"

OOC: Sounds good to me! :D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could the land wolves really be that bad? Tyne had a bit more in common with them than the fishers. Maybe that’s why he was more open to the idea of meeting some than his two companions. The females both mention getting back to the coast, causing the males heart to leap. He’d love to get back to the sand and salt. His head nodded in agreement to Nauja’s suggestion about using the land wolves’ knowledge of the lands to navigate their way back home. His eyes follow their conversation as he feels like he isn’t much help to the situation.

His stomach growls again, a bit louder this time reminding him of the rabbit tracks he spotted a bit before Niq’x showed up. He looks around trying to spot them again. Finding them off to the right Tyne’s eyes follow the tracks in hopes that the rabbit has come into sight since the last time that he looked. He catches slight movement not far from where the tracks enter the elbow high grass. “Hey, y’all hungry?” interjecting himself into their conversation. “I'm gonna go catch a snack real quick, be right back” he said not waiting for a reply. The yearling stands and stretches to loosen up his muscles, he didn’t have any idea about the rabbits around this place and wanted to be prepared for anything.

Following the tracks was easy, but dealing with tall grass was a different story. It made it difficult to see his prey, causing him to have to rely more on his hearing and scent. His persistence paid off as he was able to finally catch the small furry creature. Carrying it in his powerful jaws he trotted back to his pack mates with a sense of pride. Setting his prize down he sits back on his haunches. Tyne has a goofy smile on his face with his coral tongue hanging slightly out has he pants. “These rabbits are fast little suckers” he chuckles.

When Nauja asks Niq’x if she and her brother had a den, his ears swiveled forward. Where could one possibly have a den in a meadow he thought, acquiring a puzzled look on his face.

sorry for the wait you two! we can wrap this up with both of your posts? <3

As much as she didn’t want to admit her cousin was right—the sea princess really did not want to talk to the land-dwellers—it would be beneficial for them to speak to the locals. Some may have migrated down here from areas close to the Bella Coola river, or even further north. Unbeknownst to the fisher, she shared similar thoughts as Nauja; the landscape here was far different than she had ever encountered before. Sure, she had run through the forests and meadows near the beach they called home—they were wolves of the Great Bear Rainforest, after all—but it was different than this… It was home. This place was far from what Niq’x would like to call home—this place was more like hell.

“I’m not sure if Blitz or Kelp have had any luck with the locals, but it shouldn’t be difficult finding one. Everywhere reeks of wolves and lots of them…” she responded irritably, her mix-matched eyes rolling as she observed the snow-dusted surroundings. Tyne—who couldn’t pass up an opportunity to hunt land-critters—announced he was going to find a ‘snack’ and disappeared in the brush. The sea princess understood that they were probably starving after being knocked out for however long and waking up here, but it seemed like a strange thing to do in unfamiliar territory. Especially when they had more pressing matters to attend to—like reuniting with Blitz and Kelp, along with any other Bella wolves that may be lurking about (which hopefully included Pip).

“Hopefully—she doesn’t do so well on her own…” she commented absently about her sister after Nauja’s comment. Aside from Niq’x, the other wolves had been lucky and found themselves with pack mates when they awoke in this strange land. Fortunately for Niq, her brother had arrived shortly after she had woken up… and she was capable of handling the situation on her own. Pip, on the other paw, was an anxious ball of nerves (though an excellent fisher). They needed to find her quickly.

She nodded quickly in response to her cousin’s question although a soft frown formed on her lips. “Sort of,” she started with a gentle roll of her shoulders, her youthful gaze falling upon the young hunter who had returned with a rabbit. “Kelp and Blitz are denning here—I prefer the lagoon nearby, much wetter.” The idea of setting up camp in the meadow baffled the water wolf—she couldn’t imagine being anywhere but where the land met the sea, or in this case, any body of water she could find. “Let’s find them first, and maybe the three of us can convince them to set up camp at the lagoon until we figure out what we’re going to do.” With a quick shake of her pelt, the girl motioned for her family to follow her so they could reunite the Bella Coola wolves.

Nauja Mizuno
sorry for the trashy post :X @Tyne play us out!

Convincing Niq'x — or really, getting Niq'x to publically agree with her was above her pay grade. If she wanted to leave the talking to Blitz and Kelp, that was all well and good to Nauja who intended to tag along with them. Someone would need to talk her brother and uncle away from joining, keep their mind on the proper goal. Niq'x could either help or just sit here and sulk. Didn't matter much to Nauja.

But while the ladies were talking this over, Tyne apparently had a different idea about motivation. Before the dark woman could even ask what he really intended to do, the boy was off. Confused, she tried to share a look with her cousin, but could not catch her eyes.

"Mmm," Nauja grunted accordingly. Pip was not a great conversationalist — having a voice that didn't go above a mouse squeak didn't really help — and Nauja was quite convinced that the only thing that was going to get them out of this mess was some good old communication. (Which, likely, would be hampered by the trouble her cousins had in getting along with her. But that much could not really be helped.)

The boy reappeared with a rabbit, and Nauja's brows flew up and she remembered the boy sniffing the air before. So it had been rabbit that he had smelled. Honestly, Nauja was trash at identifying the four-legged prey varieties. Wasn't really her speed. He didn't offer it to them anyway, despite inquiring if they were hungry previously. All she wanted was fish. The swimmers were the really fastest prey, requiring the most patience and the sharpest of reflexes.

"Anything as long as it leads me to some water. Show me the way, cousin"

Tyne Kersey
Hunting had always been Tyne’s way of relaxing. It allowed him to temporarily forget about any troubles he had.  He was able to focus on the task at hand and receive a tasty reward. The rabbit he just caught allowed him to be able to clear his head and reevaluate the situation at hand.

Upon returning to his packmates, the girls were discussing den locations. Blitz and Kelp had found a den within the woods but Niq’x preferred to be by water and it seemed like Nauja did too. “A den by a lagoon would be better than in the forest. It’s not as good as by the sea but it’ll have to do.” He stated with a wag of his tail. He looked at the rabbit at his feet then back to his companions. “Y’all can have some if you want” he pushed the lifeless heap with his muzzle towards them.

Once the snack was finished Tyne licked the blood from his cream joules. “Shall we get going?” He asked the sparrow colored fisher. With a nod Niq’x led the way towards where her bother and another known as Kelp had set up camp. The young male was hopeful that they all would be able to figure out what had happen and find more of their family.
