He'd been given plenty of shoves in his time and he'd turned out alright.
"I'm sure they'll love you," he didn't need the girl to know his own doubts. "Oak Tree Bend is in the Spectral Woods, which is dark, but not so scary," or at least he'd never thought it was so scary. It took a bit of figuring out, but the same could be said for any new home. "There are two leaders, Serach and Spieden, and plenty of puppies to play with."
He wanted to warn the girl of how full the pack was, or warn her that they may not want another yearling -- much less one that wasn't a good rabbit catcher or a decent pup sitter -- to join. But, as Larkspur was want to do, he decided to just ignore those problems. Tomorrow would be a good day to worry over them.
Because now, as the two walked, he could see that white wolf in the corner of his eyes. Always in his peripheral, but disappearing when he actually looked. His gut sank a bit. Lark gently nudged her forward. "Let's go, we'll need to find a good place to sleep before it gets dark."
