The scent of other wolves was relatively strong within her nose, but she felt at ease. These were their allies, so she'd been told, and the home of @Cernan and @Neha, those pups she and @Arion had run into back when they were all just kids. She'd always wondered what it looked like, that terrain they'd described which had seemed so strange to her. Now that it stretched before her, nestled in the mountains that she had never expected to love so strongly, Ember thought it was breathtakingly beautiful.
She leaned her long neck down to lap at the frigid water, broken chunks of ice beneath her paws from where she had broken through the casing. Almost there, she was almost home. Home, it still didn't match up right in her head, but she kept saying it to herself all the same. The adventure was all but over, and that made a part of her sad. But! That also meant she would see @Arion, who she had certainly missed these two weeks she'd been gone, and she would go back to having regular meals and be able to give her aching paws a rest.
There was always an upside, and Ember would never fail again to spot it.
