Piety Santoro
kinda meh but wanted to get pi in so i don't hold yall up

Even when the male addressed that he hadn't mated with the shy Anaia, Piety was still wary. If they had just met and nothing frisky had happened then why did she cling to his flank like a damned leech? Then the truth came forward. Anaia wanted to leave. A lame excuse of not fitting in. Maybe it was because she kept to herself and practically pissed herself at anything she saw. Piety's face was obviously upset with a hint of disgusted. To think she had extended her paw to help her and was now having this news thrown at her.

This was all going south the more they spoke. Any trust or faith she had in the pale girl was thrown straight off the monadnock. Her eyes narrowed on the both of them. Had it not been for Morganna's presence the pale second might have taken it upon herself to run them off. Her muddy eyes locked onto the duo before them. Piety's tail lashed about as a silent warning to them.

She watched them smartly take their leave and leaned into Morganna's flank. "A damn waste of our time." Her voice was low and rough, an unusual tone for the Santoro. Granted nothing she ever did around Morganna was considered usual for her overall personality. "Ready to start heading back up?" She asked in a whisper as she pushed her nose into the dark Archer's fur.

OOC! AH sorry you guys

-------------------------------------------------------

Word Count: 242

She could feel it building, the guilt and fear.  She felt like there was no way for her to make the right decision here.  If leaving with Kajika was the right choice, then why did it feel so wrong? Why did she feel so terrible? She knew if she stayed nothing would change.  She would be frightened for her life every time she turned around.  Could she grow out of that?  Her packmates’ defensiveness on her behalf had been unexpected.  Maybe they weren’t as frightening as she’d thought.

But Morganna’s reaction had been final.  She couldn’t risk staying here now.  She felt the need to defend Kajika – he wasn’t stealing her away, she was leaving because she wanted to. But she couldn’t bring herself to open her mouth again.  Doing so might bring down even more wrath upon them.

She could see the betrayal and anger in Piety’s eyes.  Only yesterday she’d offered the girl her help, and now she was leaving.  Anaia tried to catch her eye, silently apologize, but she knew nothing would make up for it.  She was betraying them.  After everything they’d done for her, after all of her promises, the northern girl was leaving them without following through.

She didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye to Sara.

With a somewhat mournful glance back at the territory, Anaia turned and silently followed the dark wolf she’d thrown her lot in with.  Once again, she was lost.

Morganna Archer-Lyall

Some concerns. Concerns that she couldn't raise with members of her own pack? The wolves that had taken her in from the tundra, wounded, and wasted precious resources healing her? The wolves that had taken food out of their own mouths to put into hers, and what had she done for them? For a moment she reconsidered pausing where she stood, the urge to give chase coursing through her veins. To give them both something to remember them by, but what good was there in undoing all of Lorcan's hard work? That would only reinforce what a waste it had been, one that resulted in her needing to send her own son away to get what he needed most. This was surely a fact even @Anaia knew. Was it any wonder Morganna would not hear them out?

The warmth of @Piety at her flank was all that held her where she stood, a low growl still echoing after the retreating wolves. Her question met with a snort, her answer hopefully loud enough to carry to the deserter and her companion, "Yeah. We'd better let'er sister know. She'll be so disappointed." Unless they had been in cahoots all along, then perhaps Anaia would be seeing @Saradathia sooner than either of them could have expected.
