The small wolf laid just within the entrance of the den, the soft sunlight doing little to warm anything within, though that suited the medic just fine. Confined within the den until her fate was decided, there wasn't nothing else she could do but simply wait, anxiety pulsating off her in fear of the unknown. When would she give birth? How well would it go? Her thoughts drifted back to last year, to Raela and Gent’s first litter, the love between the two of them had been evident, and now it reflected in Emrys and Jynx, well when she had been able to see it, now all she felt was the silent anger directed toward her.

So badly, she wanted to be worth it, worth the pain and turmoil she felt, but slowly, she started to wonder if love really was worth it, did she even experience love that night? Or was it just raging hormones and a confused girl trying to sort her feelings out.  Now, new life was growing within her, but she had given everything up for it, the trust  of her pack, their ability to depend on her, even now, the moment her hind leg had been pinned by a tree to save a wolf of the pack was useless.

A soft sigh escaped as hazel eyes peered back into the den, here, this was the only safety and security she had, the plants that she had collected so dutifully, slowly wilting and browning, dying away. One of her worst fears realized, in here, she was truly alone. However she wouldn't be for much longer, a spasm of pain shot through her body, causing the young woman to tense and suck in a breath, the pain, like fire spreading under her skin caused her to yelp, her heart racing quietly as thoughts flooded her mind. Oh river...it’s happening. she stood slowly, eliciting another painful whimper, she paused, glancing out into the the pack's territory, hesitant to call it her own anymore, she didn't know what she was doing, unsure if anyone would even answer, silent for days now, a call went up from her muzzle, pleading for help.

Slowly,, tears rimming he reyes from the pain, Sylva limped further into her den, curling up in her nest, heart racing and breathing heavy, she had to be strong for this, even if she did end up being alone for it.

The anxiety over the birth of his pups drove the healer to work continuously to make sure that everything was ready for when his mate finally brought their children into the world. The anger he felt toward Sylva for her betrayal was what had been keeping him up at night. Often he would find himself outside her den listening making sure she didn't try to slip away in the night. She may have betrayed the pack but he didn't plan to let her off that easy for an example had to be made. With the leadership of the pack now in his and Jynx’s paws they needed to know that the rules were their for a reason and any breaking of them would be punished.

Sylva's punishment had not been set because he wouldn't allow a woman about to give birth go out on her own. It would be wrong and he did not need the guilt on his shoulders if something happen to mother or pup. Confinement to the infirmary den seemed the best course of action for the time being but he had not made the she wolf any promises as to what her future held. It did not look good for the young mother to be as far as he was concerned.

He had been resting in the den he shared with Jynx half dozing when the call reached his ears. Immediately he knew what time it was. Sylva had gone into labor. As much as he was angry with her and wanted her out of the notch he still had to help her through the birth of her first litter. How could he not when his mother has taught him to help all who need it whether they deserve it or not. From the day he was a pup she had said that and now his anger toward the she wolf had to be put aside.

Quickly he fosd to his feet, grabbed just enough Sweetgrass for her and left the den. Looking over to the infirmary den he slipped inside and found Sylva on her nest in obvious pain. He dropped the sweetgrass in front of her, “You need to eat this now so it can take effect,” he told her gruffly.

The agonizing pain made the mere seconds feel like ages before the white fur of Emrys appeared, plotting out the dusty light that did make it into the den. Sylva couldn't bring herself to look up and meet his blue gaze, nor could she bring herself to protest, she knew about the sweet grass and it’s effect, though no was not the time to point out that all of Gent’s training was going to be pointless with her fate undecided, though she was positive what direction it was heading in.

Another jolt of pain and a yelp escaped as she quickly worked to swallow the herb, trying to remember everything she had been taught about giving birth, the medic’s usual good memory was proving to fail her under the stress and anxiety of it being her giving birth. As the pain settled just long enough for her to take a deep breath she spoke “I..don’t remember what i do.” the fear laced in her voice was evident, though she did little to try and hide it. Thankful though that she wouldn’t have to figure it out on her own, nor would she be alone in the delivery, in her heart though, she had wished @Zilas was here for his own daughter’s delivery, or that he even knew he had one.

As a healer Sylva should know what sweetgrass was, how to use it, and why it was so important so Emrys didn't bother explaining it. It was also up to her if she ate it or not, he had merely come to make sure she didn't bleed to death. Of course things didn't always work out how he felt they should as pain shot through the soon to be mother and the yelp escaped her. He wasn't so heartless he could let her go through this completely alone. The healer moved in closer as she tried to swallow the herb.

He gave her a few moments before looking her in the eye, "You need to forget everything thing else and concentrate on getting these pups out,” told her knowing the fact that a decision had not been made had to be on her mind. His tone had grown softer as he kept her gaze, “You can do this,” he encouraged hoping it would be enough to get her started with her part in bringing the pups into the world. It wasn't enough of course because the little she wolf informed him that she didn't know what to do. The healer crouched down in front of her, “Listen to me Sylva, you need to breath and push. Listen to your instincts they will help you now.” He gave her a nod and a smile that he hoped would help to encourage her to get through this. “Breath and push,” he repeated hoping she would pick up the little mantra and say it to her.
