It had been early that morning when a sound had disrupted her slumbering. She had heard it once before but not so loud and so many times. The young girl pulled herself away from the warmth of the den floor and clambered on disproportianate paws to the mouth of the den. She yawned as her front end met the earth in a stretch. Hawthorne knew she was getting bigger with the days passing. It had become obvious in her too large paws and large ears ontop of her large head. She felt a little awkward when running about but walking was mostly becoming a breeze. Not to mention she could also understand some words better, along with expanding her own vocabulary. So it should have came as no surprise when she shouted the first that came to mind as her puppy blue eyes saw the group that had been making a ruckus.
"Burdses!"
Without a second thought she bounded forward where the large flock of black and white birds had gathered. Some of them scattered as she came crashing in but others seemed content to merely hop around and give her angry caws. "Yaa! Yaa! Yaa!" Hawthorne did her best to mimick their sound as she burst with laughter. She had no idea where all of these burdses had come from but she was glad they were here! This was way better than sleeping in late.
