AW - hoping for a couple of WFN woofs <3 Set September 5th, midday.

Her conversation with Odin up at the antlers had left Kip more curious than anything, and instead of going to see the Monadnock, the girl had retraced her steps. She'd kind of breezed by this place on her way north, and hadn't really gotten the chance to stop by and see some of the sights. Besides, it'd be nice to familiarize herself with the land, even if she did end up going back toward Whitestone Monadnock again eventually. But really, thinking about joining a pack gave her anxiety. Perhaps she was just worried things would go back to the way they were back at Kipley Mountains.

Travelling like this helped get her mind off of it.

This place was beautiful and calm. It was rather difficult to get to, but eventually her nose did lead her to water. The spring reflected the trees and clouds above, and Kip couldn't help but try and imagine what it would look like at night, with the stars reflecting in it. Perhaps it would look as though someone had spilled outer space on the ground. At least, that's what Kip's overactive imagination conjured up.

Dipping her head down, the girl took a long, satiating drink from the cold water. It was so nice, after a day or so of travelling, to finally get to relax a little bit. Especially with nice, fresh water on paw. The yearling settled down on the bank, watching a few minnows dance close to the surface. They weren't big enough to eat, but it was kind of fun to watch them.

The pale healer had finished his morning duties and wanted to do some herb collecting. After treating Tyne he needed to restock some of the supplies rust had been depleted. This was the first chance that he was able to get away from the notch in a long time.

He was sad though as he didn't have his patrol companion with him, Hawthorne was away with her mother. As much as he hated the idea of the child being with that…,well the words he had for her weren't very nice, he hadn't been able to tell them no. Still he worried, Sylva had disappeared before and gotten herself pregnant, he wondered if she would disappear again and take Hawth with her. He wondered if he would ever see the girl that was like his one daughter again.

The plan had been to stop at the spring before he headed out to find the plants he needed. What he wasn't expecting to come across another wolf at the spring. He watched her for a moment from the shadow of the trees to see what she was up to and when she settled in the bank he finally made his way to the edge of the water. At first he didn't say anything and instead lowered his head to drink the water. Finally when he had his fill he lifted his head to look at her, his ice blue eyes studying her. “How did you find the water?” He asked. Not a normal question but perhaps he needed a little change.

Fortunately, it did not seem that every wolf in this place wanted to sneak up on her. Sure, the ghost that approached was quiet, but he wasn't behind her, and she wasn't so lost in her mind that she had forgotten to be aware of her surroundings. Instead, she was calm as the bigger white wolf approached, glancing up and studying him as well until he spoke. It was an odd question, but she was beginning to believe that none of the wolves around here were anything near normal.

"Followed my nose," she responded evenly, ears angled forward. The girl wasn't afraid of the man, but she wasn't letting her guard down, either. Of course, he didn't seem threatening or anything. But a quick test of the air told her that he smelled of many other wolves, and she wondered - vaguely - if she had accidentally wandered onto someone's territory. But she couldn't remember any scent markers, so perhaps that wasn't the case.

The girl raised her head a bit from the water, still paying full attention to the snow-colored man. "Is this yours?" she asked, gesturing to the clearing around them.

The response she gave to his question made it clear she hadn't understood what he was asking. He had always thought the water tasted a little better tamjan some of the other sources in the lore. Though he could be a little biased considering the spring was part of his home. While not actually in notch territory it was where he often came to drink. He supposed it was an easy mistake to make and moved in from it.

He was more interested in what she was doing there, it was clear she was in her own. Something he knew a little about even now having been a pack wolf for almost a year now. The pale leader sat back on his haunches as he looked the girl over, she seemed to be doing well for herself.

His gaze met her once more as she asked a question about the clearing they were in, was it his? “No, however it borders my territory,” he replied, “The border of White Fir Notch is just over there,” he gestured with his muzzle. She had not gotten too close to the border so there was no reason to treat her as such. Being a loner though he wouldn't mind getting to know her a little better.

“Have you been in the lore long?” He asked out if his own curiosity. He did wonder how long she had been in her own as he knew most wolves weren't like him.
