Kajika Tallis

The beta had to frown at the description of a pincher that he had given, he did not believe that it was the best description to give to a pup. The problem was he didn't know of any other way to describe it since it was exactly as he had said. Still he could only imagine the picture that was put into the child's mind. Well Chan would find out soon enough what a pincher was since they had reached the water. Kajika didn't expect his godson to catch any crawfish on his own, they were quick and the pup lacked experience. This however would be a way for him to practice and understand fishing. With a smile he upped the Child's excitement by asking if he was ready to see one. With an affirmative answer from his God son Kajka stepped up to the water.

It wasn't often that he hunted crawfish but he wasn't inexperienced either. Just like with every other time he had fished he positioned himself just right before turning the rock over. The beta knew he would have to be ready if he was going to catch one. They were fast and they swam backwards which made it just a little more challenging. The experience that he had allowed Kajika to catch the one that he'd found under the rock and toss it to the shore for little Chan to finally see what a pincher really was. Leaving the water he coaxed the boy to investigate.

The dark man made his way over to where the Crawfish was flipping its tail and Chan was barking at it. This he expected because it was a new and strange thing for the boy. He should have expected what happened next as the child got just a little too close to the pinchers. The yelp echoed through the forest and Kajika moved to help Chan get the crustacean off his nose as the boy cried for him to get it off. He took the creature in his mouth and pulled gently a few times before it released his godson. He then dropped the crustacean on the shore once more before looking at Chan’s nose and giving it a lick, “Well you found the pinchers, does your nose feel alright?”

Chan Eastfall
The crawfish clung to the boy's nose like there was no tomorrow. The young Eastfall whined as he tried to get it off but he wasn't very successful. It wasn't until Kajika grasped it in his jaws and pulled did it finally release its grip. Brown and cream cheeks were now wet from tears that flowed from his eyes. His coral tongue gingerly licked his injured appendage. Small whimpers escaped his closed maw as his godfather tossed aside the crawfish. Chan looked up at the dark man as he licked the boy's nose. Uh huh. Not nice. He said as he stuck out his tongue at the red crustacean.

Cans we's eats it? Chan asked curiously, why else would anyone catch them? Playing with them wasn't very fun. But how does one eat a crawfish? It looked impossible with its shell. Surely Kajika would know the answer, he knew everything!

sorry for the short post DX

Ooc: No worries! :)

It was bound to happen, the Crawfish attaching itself to Chan’s nose. It was a lesson for the child but the dark man had not quite expected things to go as they had. He'd gotten the crustacean off his godson and licked his nose but there were still the tears that had flowed from the boys eyes. Kajika licked those away too as the boy declared the creature “Not nice”. “No, it's not nice at all,” he agreed happy that Chan had not been hurt when the Crawfish had clamped down on his nose. He comforted the boy a little longer before he was asked a question.

“You can eat them which is all the more reason it's important to learn to catch them.” Of course they didn't fill a belly like a fish would but like mice they could at least take away the pains of hunger. The last thing he wanted for Chan was to feel hunger like he has had in his life but Kajika had learned that the future couldn't be foretold so it was always best to be prepared. “Would you like to try and catch one?” He asked since he wasn't sure how Chan felt about it now.

Chan Eastfall
Triumph filled the boy as his god father agreed that the crawfish hadn't been nice at all. Humph he snorted as he turned his nose up at the crustacean. The perfect idea crosses his mind at revenge. The pup asked if they could eat them. To his happy satisfaction Kajika said that yes they could eat them. Chan danced in his place at the idea of snacking of the mean fish. "Ha! Ima eatchu! He said to the struggling crawfish. His Idea though would have to wait as his teacher said that it was important to learn how to catch them and asked if he wanted to try to catch one. Nodding vigorously little Chan yipped happily.

"But h-how we cach 'em?" he asked with an adorable puppy head tilt. How was he gonna catch them with them pinching his nose again? Maybe if he was big and strong like his godfather then her could! With his whole rear end wiggling Chan followed Kajika to the water to watch him catch a crawfish again. The small Eastfall had been too far away last time and even if he had see how to do it, he long forgotten how.

Kajika hoped that him agreeing the crustacean was being mean was a comfort to the child, of course the dark alpha knew the Crawfish was only doing what was natural. However, the question about eating them was was one that was easily answered and what came after, little Chan's response, it was hard for the dark man to keep a straight face. That Crawfish was left to struggle in the shore as both he and Chan moved back to the water. The question of whether the pup was ready to try and catch one for himself was asked.

“You have to be quick and grab them in your mouth so they can't pinch you,” he explained as he stepped into the water again. This time Chan was on the shore close to where Kajika was ready to flip another rock. “They will swim away from you and hide under other rocks so you have to get them before they do.” He then gave the boy on last look to make sure he was watching before he turned the rock he had his paw on. As another crawfish started moving away Kajika lunged forward grasping it in his jaws and flinging it to the shore. It landed a short distance from the other one. “Do you think you can do that?”

Chan Eastfall
The water danced at his toes as he watched his godfather bravely hunt those mean red fish. The boy did his best to focus by ignoring the tickling at his feet. Kajika had told him that he had to be quick to catch them and not get pinched. Got it, be quick. As the dark man moved into position he said that they will hide under rocks and swim away from you. The small brown boy nodded in understanding.

Then it happened. His godfather did the impossible. He shot into the water and flung another crawfish to shore without getting pinched. A wide smile spread on the child maw as he watched with wonder. "Ya ya!" He barked excitedly as he was asked if he thought he could do the same. Of course he could! He wanted to be just like his godfather! Anything he could do Chan would do too...eventually.

Large puppy paws splashed water around as he bounded into the lake. He stopped elbow deep and began searching for rocks to turn over. It wasn't until the water calmed did he see one. Getting excited he flipped the rock over and shot his head down. Small jaws clamped in the water but came back out empty. Shaking the water from his face the pup looked back into the water. There was nothing there, there hadnt been a crawfish under it. With a frustrated snort Chan moved to another rock. This time he waited a second to see if there was something under it. Sure enough there was. A red crustacean swam backwards away from him. Shooting his head down again the pup grabbed at it, but with no avail. He came up empty handed again. His ears fell flat at the failure as he plopped his butt right where he stood. Kajika had done it on his first try...why couldn't he?

Kajika Tallis

Stepping into the water Kajika was careful to not cause too much of a ripple across it. That wasn't as important with Crawfish as it was with fish but it had become a habit for the dark man. He searched for the signs of what he was looking for. Meanwhile he gave young Chan instructions that he hoped would help to guide the child when it was his turn to try and catch the crustacean's. They were tricky but with a little practice he was sure that his godson would be good at it in no time.

Without warning Kajika caught sight of his prey, turned the rock over and soon felt the flipping tail of the Crawfish in his mouth. Without giving it time to get it's pincers around his lip or worse his nose he flicked it into the shore next to the other one. Like the other one it flipped around trying to get back to the water.

Then it was Chan’s turn to give it a go. Being that it was the pups first time ever Kajika didn't have any expectations. This was just a first lesson a chance for him to get the idea so that he could practice later if he wanted. As Chan bounded into the water Kajika moved to the shore to observe. The boys enthusiasm had caused him to stir up the water do he had to wait for it to calm. The first attempt went badly which was to be expected. The second attempt however went better. Chan seemed to see the Crawfish before he tried again. He didn't catch the crustacean but that was okay however Chan wasn't very happy. Kajika took a step toward the water as the pup plopped himself down where he stood. “You must not be discouraged Chan. I know it's disappointing to have not caught it but you're just learning. I can assure you when I first started I didn't catch any at all. It took a lot of practice for me to be able to catch them.” He spoke gently and did what he could to encourage the boy.

Chan Eastfall
Water splashed his brown and russet back as he sat in the lake out of frustration. Why was it so easy for Kajika to do it? Had he not done exactly what the older male had done? A snort blew from his nose causing ripples in the water. The pup looked to his mentor as he stepped towards him. He was told to not be discouraged for even the dark man hadn't been able to catch them at first. "Rewlly?" The boy asked feeling a bit better. Maybe he could catch them then.

Standing once more Chan looked for another rock to over turn. Finding one that was to his liking he prepared himself to turn it over. Once in position the young boy tried his luck once more. He flipped the rock over and watched the red crustacean swim away from him. He reached for it with his mouth but missed once more. That wasn't good enough though so he began to chase after it. Snapping and snapping he continued to only grasp water. The final time he reached though his whole body disappeared. The young Eastfall had unknowingly stepped off the ledge in the lake.

Panic flooded him as he realized he was no longer touching the bottom. Kicking hard he was able to surface and take a breath. The panic he just felt began to dissipate as instinct kicked in and he swam back to the safety of shallow water. Once his oversized paws touched solid ground he began to cough and made his way over to where Kajika was. Surprisingly the boy wasn't as shaken as one might expect, he could have even called it a bit of fun.

Kajika Tallis

His godson was clearly discouraged after he hadn't caught the Crawfish on the first try which Kajika didn't blame him. While he was learning to catch the crustacean's there was another lesson that Chan had to learn too. That he couldn't expect to do everything perfectly the first time. So the dark man offered some words that he hoped would encourage the boy. “Yes, it has taken a lot of practice for me to be able to catch them so quickly. All you need is practice but remember this Chan. You're going to make mistakes and you're going to fail but one day you will be good at it.”

It seemed his words had done their job because the next moment the pup was up trying again. Kajika watched from where Chan had left him just as he always did when he was teaching. The child quickly found a good rock and flipped it before he was soon chasing after the Crawfish he'd found. Chan wasn't giving up this time, at least he wasn't until the pup disappeared under the water.

Kajika rose to his feet and started toward where Chan had disappeared under the water. Moonshadow would kill him if he let something happen to her son. Without warning the pups head appeared above the water and with a few puppy strokes he'd made it back to where he could touch the bottom again. Kajika was at his side to help him. “Are you okay?” He asked his tone full of worry. He immediately started checking the child over for any signs that he was hurt.

Chan Eastfall
A few coughs dispelled any water that may have found its way into the boys lungs. Once standing on solid ground he gave his soaked pelt a shake sending even more water flying. Kajika made his way to the child's side, his coal nose checking him over for injuries. When the older mans words reached the pup's ears a giggle was released. "Uh huh!" He actually thought that was fun and wanted to go again!

"Go again!" He beamed up at his godfather hoping that he'd say yes! He didnt know what he had just done was swimming but that didnt matter, he enjoyed it nonetheless. Puppy blues looked up pleading! He had completely forgotten about his fishing lesson. The mean pincher red cabfish were no longer a concern. The excitement of moving through the water without anything beneath his paws was at the forefront of his mind.

Chan wiggled in his place sending ripples of water to flow outwards from the pair. He waited hungrily for his teachers answer. He hoped with every fiber of his body that Kajika would say yes and he could walk through water again! That would be the absolute best!
