Kyna Argyris Archer
This is a pack meeting set to discuss small numbers moving into fall and a pack hunt.  There will be three rounds so we can make this as quick and painless as possible.  Please post by Oct. 26th.  @Greer  @Revon  @Tinley  @Abaddon  @Pyriel  @Eirian

The loss of all three of her founding members did not go unnoticed – but what was Kyna to do, exactly? Ember had told her exactly what she intended, and she could not fault her friend for seeking out her sister. Heigen had wandered off with no trace around Aurora Heights; but she hadn’t expected Iyes to do the same. Maybe it was those wandering paws – something Revon seemed prone to, as well. It made her chest hurt. The alpha heaved a sigh and shook out her thick coat, ready for the winter as she made her way to the center of the heights and tipped her head back, calling to organize the rest of her pack.

They were small in number, but they would be alright.

One by one they entered, and Kyna greeted them all. There were a few benefits to small numbers, she supposed. Once they had all arrived and settled, Kyna began to speak – perhaps she should have had a word with her mate first, but Greer wouldn’t have been interested in speaking with them all like this, anyways.

“Thank you for coming. We have a few things to discuss with the coming winter – as you can see, our numbers are small, and some members have…disappeared. For safety’s sake, I would ask that you all tell someone where you are going if you intend to be gone for more than two days; I would hate for someone to be in need of assistance, and no one know where to look.” She sighed softly, hoping ill had not befallen either Iyes not Heigen. “Outside of that, I think we do our best to recruit more wolves. And, on perhaps a happier note, have a pack hunt. Find something large to start filling out caches, and start to teach Revon, as well. How does this sound?”

Abaddon
She hadn't strayed in some time. The Heights had almost everything she needed. Not to mention she had a rather lofty and comfortable position. Far better than the one back home at least. It was no top-dog, call the shots kind of seat but it was close enough. If anything she had a narrowed gaze on the skinny sack that led by Kyna's side. What kind of leader was he? Had she even heard him speak? A sour taste built up in her mouth but she held it back for now. She wasn't ready to stir the pot just yet.

The large female settled her mind soon enough to hear the gingery female began the meeting. Having to tell someone where she was going? She wasn't a child but she could play along. If she did start traveling far again she'd keep her mischevious trips under two days. Might be calling it close to home but she was good at cleaning up things. Dread had never come around after all...maybe he really was dead next to Heigen.

A hunt. Now that was something tantalizing and of interest. The ebony female couldn't lie that a little feast would be nice to have before things got tight. She had experienced winter conditions on a mountain before. It was never easy. So she casually nodded her head, assuring Kyna she was all for it.

A greeting was given to the lead female as he arrived on the scene of the meeting. These sorts of things weren't new to him and usually bored him out of his mind but he'd become good at pretending interest. He also gave a small greeting to the female that was also there before finding a place and stretching out. He hoped this meeting wouldn't take long as he much rather be out patrolling or hunting, he couldn't very well do his job if he was stuck here all day.

When the meeting started he was thankful they didn't have to wait any longer, the sooner they started the sooner it was done. However, the first bit that the lady in charge spoke about he was none too pleased about. He was a warrior with the kind of training that would get him through anything. He supposed though that as second he needed to set a good example for the rest of them so he didn't figure he had a choice. So if he thought his trips were to be longer than two days he'd tell someone.

The next bit about a hunt caused his ears to perk, that was something he was interested in. He preferred hunting over most every other job he did in the pack. He gave the woman a nod that he was in agreement with the suggestion.

Greer, too, had noticed their dwindling numbers and it did not sit well with him. Three founding members had disappeared, leaving the pack with an array of new faces—unfamiliar faces. He tried to get acquainted with them, be a good leader, but his socialization skills were not on par. The shadow preferred to be alone, slinking along the borders of Aurora, ensuring that the markers were in place as he sought out potential recruits on the outskirts. The winter was an ideal time to find those seeking refuge; however, most shied away from the mountain range, as the weather was both unpredictable and daunting.

But Kyna was right—they needed to recruit. Otherwise there would be no hope for the small pack.

He had settled beside his scarlet mate, his silver eyes falling to the wolves before them as she began addressing them. The shadow did not mind that she took the reigns in these types of situations. He was the runner; the hunter. Despite his slender frame he was the brawn and she the brain. He kept an eye on the borders and made sure the caches were full. A silent partner. Sort of. “Goat trail north,” he commented, his nose tipping toward the fiery-eyed matriarch. “Deer too.” He and his second, Pyriel, had followed both trails a few weeks prior. They had abandoned the goat for the more accessible deer, but that did not mean the goats had strayed too far…

Revon Argyris Archer

Uggggghhhh! Meetings were so boring and lame. The little fox wanted nothing to do with the adult gathering but she knew she had to stay. Mother and father would not be pleased if she decided to ditch the meeting for another adventure, especially when she was already testing her luck with the frequency of her wanderings. With a small frown the girl situated herself to her mother’s side, her rump pressed neatly atop the cool stone as she watched the other wolves arrive, one by one. Part of her hoped to see the inky figure of her Auntie Iyes appear but she knew it was nothing but wishful thinking. She had abandoned the Aurora wolves, for whatever reason. Not like Revon had gone looking for her or anything. Attempted to follow her trail… gotten temporarily lost along the way… nah. She didn’t care. Not one bit.

Her ears twitched as her mother began speaking, her scarlet eyes fixated on the redhead. She addressed her subordinates with the same authority Revon hoped to possess one day. Her father stood tall and regal-like by her side, his silent figure a threatening presence. However, she had been taken aback by the few words that tumbled off her father’s tongue, as she had not expected him to address so many wolves at once. One-on-one was more his style. Or just not talking all.

Keeping her thoughts to herself the girl nodded frantically at the suggestion of a hunt. She was being included!! Maybe adult meetings were’t so boring after all…

Thanks everyone!  This is everyone who's active/not away, so we'll just keep moving forward! @Greer @Abaddon @Pyriel  Please post by Oct. 31st!

Their numbers were still dwindling. She’d been so uncertain about Eirian – it seemed her concerns weren’t unfounded. The alpha hadn’t scented the male recently, and he didn’t answer the call; was he the next wandering paws had claimed? And Tinley, she was missing too – though Kyna had thought maybe the younger female hadn’t been feeling very well, and perhaps she was just trying to avoid infecting the others. Yes. That sounded good. She’d look for the Attaya later.

But for now, disgruntled pack members.

The alpha arched a brow at the various faces made at the request – really, it was only a request! “I am not telling you to travel less, simply inform someone if you are to be gone more than two days, and where to look. The mountain is dangerous; as none of you have lived here before, I expect you to take my word for it. I do not care what your business is, keep that to yourself. I simply wish to know where to look for a wolf who’s fallen and can’t return home if you go missing.  East, west, north, or south will suffice.”

Perhaps a bit of Aponi shone through her just then, lifting her jaw as she glanced around the small group. Honestly. They could come and go as they pleased, do what they pleased outside of Aurora Heights. Complaints – silent or not – were poor form.

But on to better things.

“The goats are closer, but likely harder to catch. They understand the slopes more than the deer…but we also won’t have to move our kills as far. What are in you favor of? Pyriel, Abba – are either of you interested in teaching or advising in the future?”

Abaddon
Abaddon

She bit her tongue while listening to Kyna's words. Abaddon was good at keeping her business to herself because it was what she had always done her whole life. Vague directions, well that was easy information to pass out to someone because it was vague. East, west, north, south just like the fiery woman had said.

As they moved onto other topics, the large ebony female showed a bit more interest. Chatter of hunts and roles. Advising had always been of interest to Abba. She had been groomed into a fine right-hand even if she didn't have the typical age of an advisor figure. Even if she felt ill towards her family they had set her up with fine life skills. "I think goats would be a fine hunt. Just need a clear approach so they don't escape." She chimed softly, rembering how the goats scaled the hills and mountains back home. They had been such pesky creatures.

"Also, I would find it pleasureable working towards an advising role." Abba knew it would mean having to be more social and opening up to her leaders but she could do for such a nice title. Her gaze briefly flickered towards Pyriel, wondering if he might have something to say about advising or teaching.

The pale agouti took notice that his partner had not arrived at the meeting and her scent had faded from the territory. He had become increasingly worried about her and any searches he'd made toward finding her had come up empty. It bothered him to no end that she it seemed she had abandoned him with this pack once again. He didn't know if he should follow as he had done once before or let her go and make his home here with this pack.

Just like in the blood breakers the lead female was requesting that they inform someone if they were planning to be away more than two days. After leaving his birth pack he'd been hoping for more freedom. He shrugged at her words, if she insisted on being informed then he would do so though not because he wanted to.

Hunts and roles it seemed were in next on the agenda and it was a decision between the goats or the deer. Abaddon seemed to like the idea of goats and Pyriel had been waiting for the chance to hunt them. “I'm in favor of the goats,” he put his two cents in. Then there was the question of which role he would like to have and it was a toss up. His days in the blood breakers he'd done his share of training and teaching. He felt he was surprisingly good at teaching so perhaps that was the role for him. He looked to Abaddon as she spoke of having interest in the advising role, “And I will go with teacher,” he said his gaze lingering on the female for a moment before he turned to look at Kyna.

The request of asking the subordinates to share which direction they were headed in was fair. Since the creation of the pack they had seen a number of wolves leave, without a word or an explanation. None of the original members remained, aside from Kyna and himself. But they were still a family, regardless of the new faces among them. His nose wrinkled as he realized that there were two missing—the new male he had caught wind of, but never properly introduced himself to, along with Pyriel’s companion. The former was not a surprise, for the wolf had kept to himself since Kyna had accepted him at the borders. It appeared Aurora was becoming a stopping point as wolves headed over the mountain—a place they could get a few meals and some quiet nights of rest before moving on to the other side.

It made his stomach tighten, a dark line forming between his brows.

Both wolves standing before them seemed keen on tackling the herd of goats in the north and Greer nodded to show that he was in agreement. He had seen Pyriel’s hunting abilities and had faith in the agouti. The five of them (along with Tinley, if she was able) would be able to take down a goat if they moved quickly, with precision. “Scouted with Pyriel. Short trek north. Some weak.” Like Abbadon had mentioned, the pack just needed a clear approach in order to come out of the hunt successful.

The roles chosen seemed to suit the wolves who had claimed pursuing them, so Greer was happy with their decisions. He glanced over at the scarlet cub, to see whether she was still paying attention or not. It was a lot of information to process—and not necessarily exciting information. For a puppy, at least.
