Lachesis is announcing the move of Hearthwood River. You can assume that he's already put some feelers out about the move~
It was time.
The tall, looming cedar trees had become more of a prison than a haven, filled with distant memories of wolves who had come and gone. There had been heaps of drama in the recent months, causing tension to grow between the river wolves. More specifically one river wolf. It made his heart ache, to know that a wolf he had once considered a daughter was now a stranger to him. He struggled to believe the words tumbling off her tongue most days and found it impossible to trust her, even though he wanted to.
After discovering the surging river nestled at the base of the mountain he couldn’t think of much else. It had consumed his thoughts and he often found himself wandering back to the forest to ensure no loners have moved into their future territory. He had discussed things over and over with his mate, to make sure he was making the right decision, for the last time he had suggested a move he had been greeted by backlash. But she, too, could tell that a fresh that was what the wolves of Hearthwood needed. There were too many ghosts among the cedars.
It was suffocating.
In the early hours of the morning he returned to the dens, his alabaster fur glistening with snowflakes. He knew they couldn’t stay—not anymore. The tension had grown thicker and he could tell that it was starting to effect the children, for they had grown more withdrawn and spent more time outside pack territory. Especially Risaela, who had gone on a little rendezvous to visit their western neighbours. He feared more members would continue to wander, as they did in the past, and Lachesis worried that their numbers would dwindle in the warmer months.
This move wasn’t just for him—it was for his family; the pack. Hearthwood had never truly belonged to him. Lachesis had been grandfathered into the position as a result of his friend’s death. He still felt as though he was trying to appease the fallen king,
Tossing his head to the pale morning sky he called for his packmates, announcing that it was time for them to leave Hearthwood behind. Without waiting for a response he began moving forward to their new home. Driftwood Surge.
