A soft grunt escaped as silvery eyes slowly blinked open, snow crunched as he shifted within the baren underbrush. Nestled among the roots of the large tree, the pup pulled himself to his paws, his thick silvery black pet speckled with the dusty snow. He blinked slowly, his vision becoming clear as his mouth parted, a yawn escaping and causing the wolf to give himself a good shake as he tried to wake himself up, the dryness in his mouth reminded him, he needed to get something to drink. He glanced around, the other night he head heard something, it sounded like a rushing river or stream, maybe a creek. A small smile formed on his lips, the thought of a cold, refreshing drink motivated him, his ears straining as he started off down the loose trek toward what he hoped was the source.
Eventually he caught the sound and started off quickly, the sparse trees becoming thinner and thinner until the young wolf only stood on a rolling, snow covered hill side. He sucked in a breath of awe when he looked up, a jagged, meandering stream cut through the dusted hillside. The easily impressed youth smiled softly as he looked down, spotting the edge, he made his way down to the water’s edge.
Daesamar took a moment to look at his rippling reflection, shifting with the current, the young wolf smiled happily, his bushy tail wagging as his jaws parted, a playful growl escaping as he splashed his muzzle into the water and pulled it up, giving himself a shake as the chill hit his fur “brrrrr!” he said quietly, shaking his mane out and glaring at the water for just a moment before splashing a paw into it.
