Oh, she just couldn't let it go, didn't she? She had to have a last word, last tease. But the male haven't minded that, as he had simply smiled in response. After all, he had just made her laugh with his joke - so it was okay. Both of them have scored a point in his mind, causing him to smile and simply feel comfortable. "No they didn't, but neither I have planned them to." He'd spoke after a short moment, tilting his head slightly to the side as they went down to business. "If not for certain occurrence, I would have come here with the first snow at the latest." The dark male stated, his voice thoughtful at the reminder of the events long past that have got so much out of hand. First finding a woman on the brink of death, followed by throwing himself and her into a nearest pack in order to survive the winter... Then the said pack crumbling down in almost the middle of it...
But he didn't regret it, he did a right thing. Besides, doing the right thing usually makes the life harder and the dark male knew that better than most. "However..." The male continued, as his eyes wandered a little towards her swollen belly. His gaze more thoughtful than anything else. "I believe that saving a life is as important as creating one." His eyes have slipped off her and gazed behind her left shoulder for a fraction of a second as the male continued, taking a few steps towards her. "And that's what kept me up north until now. That's what had me delayed..." Until the male found himself close enough to try nuzzle himself against her left cheek, just like she did to him moments ago. If allowed, the male would not push it far, just enough to appear affectionate without crossing any boundaries (if not, he would smile apologetically and would keep his eyes focused on her for the most part). His reasons for being modest have been quite different this time however, as the male had kept his cheek and part of the neck brushed against her. Blackmoore kept himself calm, despite that his eyes begun to trash wildly from side to side - inspecting the wood behind her. "I hope this doesn't make you mad though." The male muttered, the reason for her anger left unspecified.
From the outside the situation should appear normal, perhaps even pleasant and Blackmoore was well aware of that fact. That was his goal for now, while his eyes have locked on two, no, three silhouettes lurking in a treeline some distance away. "We're being watched. Keep calm." The dark male have hushed from behind her ear as the man's eyes narrowed as they sunk into study. Man's mind analyzing the perceived movement, size and colour of the figures he'd noticed. "Coyotes. Three of them some distance away. They look like trouble." He'd spoke, keeping his cool despite a few more mischievous gazes coming from the yote trio.
Blackmoore have pulled his head back, forcing a subtle but reassuring smile onto his maw as he proceeded to look down right into Ravenna's eyes. Their noses almost touching together, however the male have not even realized that, nor felt the usual sting in his chest that would normally accompany a situation like that. No, as his mind have been analyzing the current situation and had been consumed by it in it's entirety. He wasn't devout of emotions, as the male was being gripped by the ice cold paws of anxiety. Blackmoore however had kept himself off from showing it, as he tried to reassure Ravenna. "From what you have told me, Willow Ridge is close by right? I think we should go there..." The male smiled up a little, while his eyes kept alternating between her and the coyotes that have stood together, talking, plotting most likely. Hatching a plan that seemed like trouble. Only now Blackmoore have realized that one of the three coyotes appeared to be noticeably smaller than the other two. Perhaps being youngest in the group. "Just keep calm, whatever idea they may had - I'm with you." His eyes returned to hers as he'd spoke, underlining the point.
Meanwhile the smallest of the coyotes have broke out from the group and begun slowly trotting their way, gaining speed as he'd go. "Go, lead the way." He'd spoke, as his maw turned away to look at the brave - or stupid, depends on the point of view - canis latrans that was coming towards them. The male had no idea what was his plan, was he coming to talk to them? He doubted it, though he'd heard legends about some coyotes managing to talk and communicate in their language, but as he'd was saying - those were just legends. To him all he'd ever heard from a member of their species were unrecognizable cackles and growls after all. Whatever it was going to be, the dark male wasn't going to risk it as he'd stepped in between the on-comer and his friend to block access to her. Announcing openly that they have been aware of them for a moment now. "Run if I get loud, okay?" He'd spoke, as his eyes realized they lost the other two. Blackmoore's tail swished violently in response as he'd felt a sudden rush of rage flowing into him while his deeply emerald eyes searched frantically for the other two.
Shit!
A deep growl have erupted from his maw, as soon as his eyes found out the other two - going separate ways in order to encircle them. The youngster had to be there just for distraction. Fuck! I got duped! His growl turned into a vicious snarl that curled his lips up and bared his fangs, causing the young coyote to loose it's footing as he tried to jump away in opposite direction despite being still a few good leaps away from the dark wolf - followed by a mocking cackle coming from the other coyotes. Fortunately for the pregnant Ravenna, Blackmoore was one of those males that kept their head straight on top of important things. Maybe some other fool would charge the tripped pest, but that would leave her open for an attack from the other two. But not Blackmoore, as the male turned snappishly and leapt after Ravenna. "Run, don't let them stop you. If it comes to worst, lie down on the ground!" He yelled from behind her, following her footsteps to glue up to her like a mythical bur to the dog's tail. That way the male will be able to jump to the either side if any of the more grown up mutts was getting too close. He didn't know the way, nor how far Willow Ridge is, but hopefully close enough that someone have managed to hear the vicious growl of his. If not, he'd would have to join Ravenna in her call for help. To the best of his abilities of course, while trying to keep her safe.
Woah, my first post to break 1k wc (1168) on RoW. Anyhow, once Vami posts up - the thread is open for joiners. For those who'll want to influence coyotes (I've been told that is what we can do, hence the length of this post): - I have made one of coyotes to be younger and smaller from the other two. Also perhaps less patient than the rest. Also they cackled from the youngster, as he'd got spooked by Blackmoore's growl - so perhaps they're a little more experienced? I'll leave that for Vami and everyone who joins in to decide.
Also I'm giving permission to Vami to PP Blackmoore a little in her post if she wishes so - once they begun to move. Blackmoore's goal is to literally stay on her tail and take the blow if needed till help (or my turn) arrives.
Oh also. Shots fired. Feel free to curse and swear.
