Mavis Kipley
Aleister was a nice name. It suited this strange wolf quite nicely, she thought. Her own lips pulled to the side in a crooked sort of smile, unused to how easily talking with this guy was. How it was enjoyable and didn’t feel forced in the slightest. She was just about to mention that his name sounded nice when his countenance changed and he turned his head away from her.

Her gaze followed his and she perked her ears toward the creatures he was attempting to scare away. Coyotes were hardly smaller than Kip herself, so three of them were definitely something she couldn’t handle. Not on her own, at least... though she wasn’t certain the two of them could do this together unscathed.

It was almost satisfying when they turned around and started growling. The small wolf had been coming up with strategies for if they had to fight, and it was becoming clear that that was what was going to happen.

”Yeah, I’m seein’ it,” she muttered, her pale fur rising aggressively and her lips curling back from her own sharp teeth. ”My pack is near here - these guys can’t stay. There are pups coming,” the young wolf voiced, her ears pressing back as she took a step forward of her own. It seemed that Aleister was the main target, as only one of the three was focused on Mavis, but she was paying attention to all three. ”I can’t just let them stay here.”

hear our whispered shouts, they don't care

The fur on the his nape and back bristled as another snarl in attempt to scare the vermin away escaped his maw. Again, the trio of coyotes took a few more aggressive steps towards the wolf duo. The pale girl confirmed she was seeing this weird situation unfolding. Mavis too took up alongside him in a dominant stance which didn't make the coyotes flinch at all. Instead of all three of the vermin focusing on Aleister, one set of eyes turned to the pale vixen.

A growl rumbled in his chest directed towards the coyote who focused on the girl as he caught her words of her pack being nearby and was expecting cubs. Mimicking her advance, the Vuesain stayed with the girl as they tried to ward off the approaching coyotes. She was right, they couldn't let them stay here with expecting mothers nearby. These coyotes were no laughing matter. They were dangerous.

Which direction is your pack? I'll steer them away while you get to safety and warn the others. Taking another step, his mismatched gaze looked back towards Mavis one last time. Then he barreled towards the trio, getting just in reach of them before letting them give chase to him as he led them in the opposite direction of Mavis' pack. He also needed to warn Neha of this and get both of them to safety as well. The loner siblings were no longer safe being just the two of them. They needed safety in numbers.

Aleister will be leading the three coyotes away from CWT and Mavis. Aleister EXIT

Well, shit. This wasn’t going to end well for either of them. When Aleister asked where her pack was, she jerked her muzzle toward the south. A skip and a hop away from where they were, but she was taking absolutely no chances. The small wolf bristled again at the coyotes, fully expecting to have to fight, until Aleister took matters into his own paws, so to speak.

The dark wolf ran forward and caught the attention of the coyotes, goading them into chasing him in the opposite direction of her pack. Mavis’ eyes widened and she began to run forward too, unwilling to let him deal with the three aggressive coyotes by himself. But then she remembered her pack, and that she had an obligation to them and not this random stranger she met on the mountaintop.

So, the little wolf stopped at the edge of the decline they were sprinting down, raising her voice for him to hear her. ”Don’t die!” she called, her ears pressed to her skull and her tail falling limply between her hocks.

Of course she would make a friend only to have him driven off by coyotes.

Of course.

Mavis decided then that she would visit up there, sporadically, to check and see if Aleister had made it out okay. But for now, she had a pack to get back to. They would need to know about the levels of aggression the coyotes were showing.

Thread Fade. Aleister and Kip have been driven off by the coyotes.
