Sven Archer
Private for @Ravenna, takes place immediately after this thread. @Adeltra is more than welcome to join.

the devil is & always will

Sven was still seething, but the anger roiled quietly under his skin as he slinked through the night back into the heart of the territory. He was fairly certain the quartet were on their way, having taken the time to properly see @Odin and @Kip out along with @Bojay and @Sterling. To be sure the younger duo didn't try to press their luck even further, he had asked @Leotie to stand sentry after quickly summarizing what had happened. Now, he needed to break the news to Ravenna. While he was confident he had been in the right, part of him was unnerved as he drew closer to her whereabouts. What if she didn't support him in this? How little of the pack's loyalty did he really have?

"Ravenna?" he called out, softly so as to attract minimal attention. This was a discussion he did not want the rest of the pack privy to, not until it had been settled between them and they could approach the others on a unified front.

"We need to talk. Privately."

Ravenna Archer-Lyall
Worry still clung to the woman like a cloak. After what had happened with the Aurora Heights wolves, it seemed like destiny was doing it's best to try and tear away any peace that may happen between her and @Greer and the two packs they held. Already Ravenna had called out to @Leotie and @Adeltra, telling them the moment they got themselves some good rest, to head out around the meadows, rise, marsh and lagoon to look for any signs of @Revon. After how the Heights wolves had treated her pack mates, an alliance seemed unlikely. But Revon was still out there, ripped away from the safety of her pack and family.

But the drama would not end there. The children of @Morganna and @Renier had arrived and although she had not yet any of them yet, was clearly about to get an ear-full from Sven. "Yes Sven?" She spoke as she lifted up upon her perch at on the rocky formation of the Pack's den, having decided to rest here with a good view of her lands, their lands.

Adeltra Archer
Scouting dem 1/3

Adeltra was still reeling from the events that had transpired. The two siblings, apparently Morganna’s children and her cousins, had wanted to cause trouble and boy had they done it. Odin and Kip were gone with the promise that hell would rain down on the Willows, which had stunned the girl to be frank. What had they done wrong other than mind their borders? Just because the boys happened to be their cousins didn’t mean that they had any claim to the Ridge. If it had been anyone else she knew that they would have done the same thing without a second thought. And they were making Sven out to be the bad guy when he hadn’t even hurt the boy! Sure he’d rough housed him but maybe next time he’d think twice. Actually, scratch that the annoyance probably wouldn’t. His horrible attitude proved that quickly.

Everyone dispersed and Addy was quick to follow after Sven who was going immediately to Ravenna, exactly what he should have done. Her little legs struggled to keep up with his quick pace but she managed, mind going a million miles an hour. Were they really going to have a war with their family? Was Morganna really that terrifying? True she was sassy and something was perhaps a little off about her, but didn’t everyone have the weird one in the family? She’d just assumed maybe Morganna was that.

When they came upon her pale cousin the dark girl hung back. She’d only tagged along to confirm what Sven was saying. Adeltra was a kind girl, but she was also honest to a fault. She had a strong moral compass and even if she seemed like she was a pushover she would stand up for what she thought was right and what she thought was wrong. If she had thought was Sven had done was wrong she would have told him so, then not come with him when he talked to Ravenna. Instead, she would have talked with the Alphaess privately at a different point. No, she was siding with the pale man through and through. With all the events that were happening from all sides what other options did they have than to stick together?

There was no use in beating around the bush, and so Sven jumped right into it.

"Morganna's fuckwit kids came back, trying to weasel past into the territory and talking shit, so I scruffed one of 'em. Odin and Kip both came out of nowhere and Odin fucking rammed me because I was 'picking on kids,'" his voice dripped with the disgust he felt for how the children had all acted. Maybe he needed to rethink his 'don't judge the kids because of who their mother is' rule because now they were three out of three for being complete idiots.

"All four of them are gone. I kicked the kids from the pack. They completely turned on me, over the simplest thing."

Honestly, he was still in shock that Odin had done what he had. Was it because he knew them to be his siblings? Even so, he highly doubted that Kara had never been scruffed or otherwise punished around him before, not with Morganna and Craw as parents. There truly were no excuses.

"They obviously can't be trusted."

Ravenna Archer-Lyall

Adeltra quickly came and Ravenna could have only assumed she had been with Sven in the first place by having followed him here. She remained a silent support, saying nothing and Ravenna began to wonder what was up. A single dark grey ear turned back and Sven spoke, no need to jerk around it.

"You did what!?" She couldn't help but be shocked by everything he spit out. Couldn't help but be caught off guard. Not only did they just loose two strong and capable youths in their ranks but had a bad first encounter with the children Ravenna had personally been waiting to see for some time now. Not a good start, but she couldn't blame Sven got his actions towards them if they had been so openly accepting of trespassing. But why? Had @Morganna not taught her children of respect for borders? Perhaps she had, but as routy teenagers perhaps they also didn't care.

It was a messy situation, that was obvious and her teeth ground in irritation as she bounded, jumping from rock to rock as she decend the rocky formation of the pack den and to the ground to meet Sven head to head. "Apparently alot of us Archers think we are above the law. Think that because of our name we can do as we please, especially to our own family... Odin's actions were ridiculous, to attack his own Leader. That cannot be tolerated and to do so just for a scruffing? Since when it basic dominant display a crime?" They were fucking wolves for crying out loud. Muzzle grabbing, stuffing, pinning... It was a part of their very nature like howling and digging and scent marking.

She sighs, her silver eyes locking on her age-mate nephew. "You know Odin is pretty young still himself, has a lot of learning to do." She spoke, her mouth pulling to the side. "I just wished you could have came to me first. Called for me even... It's not like Odin is just some random loner that came looking for a winter sanctuary. We could have made him Lowest. Made him earn his place back." She didn't know if Odin would have went for it or not, having a bit of a cocky head on his shoulders as many Archers did. But even if he had decided to leave instead it would have been a better choice then being so rash at kicking him out off the bat.

Excuse me for being a trashole. Scouting dem 2/3

Ravenna’s outburst caused the girl’s auds to shift back on her head. Was she...angry at them? The dark girl watched as the silver matriarch descended the rocks, wincing as her teeth clicked together angrily. But, the words that escaped her next proved that the woman didn’t blame them. In fact, she spoke much of what had passed through the girl’s head the entire time. That some of the Archers felt a sense of entitlement to what wasn’t theirs. The woman mentioned that she wished that Sven had called for her in the moment, that they had made him lowest instead of casting him off. A small shake of her head was given.

”I don’t think he would have stayed anyways. He was pretty mad at Sven. Didn’t even stop the two pups from mouthing off to us, tried to defend them. I told him they were gonna end up in a bad place if they kept it up but he didn’t wanna listen. I like Odin as much as the next family member, but he was waaaay outta line,” she commented, moving forward to brush Sven’s shoulder in a sign of support.

Sven was well aware of the possibility that Ravenna would not be pleased with his choice, perhaps even more angry at him than Morganna's children. She was the wolf that he trusted more than any other, and still that trust was not complete. Sometimes, he wondered how they'd gotten so close, if it was all a fluke that would fall through in the next moment, crumble back into the rightful order that had been established when they were children: Ravenna and the others on top, Sven outcasted to the edge of nowhere.

The prospect was not grand enough to shake him, however. Even as she exclaimed and launched herself back to the earth to face him.

What came from her mouth next allowed Sven to feel a surprising amount of support, but there was a clause. He could thoroughly understand Ravenna desiring to have been a part of the situation and subsequent decision; he would likely feel the same if the roles were reversed. However, what else she had to say in the matter made him glad that she hadn't been present, something he would not admit aloud. They would have disagreed then, showing even greater weakness to Morganna's brats and subsequently, anyone they ran their mouths to.

Before he could respond, Adeltra spoke up. He was glad to have her support, that soft spot which had developed since the first day he'd met her and Romanov growing even bigger.

"I'm sorry Ravenna, but it was a situation that called for immediate action. He's an adult, old enough to breed this coming Spring. Old enough to know how to act. A pup knows you don't tackle your alpha. Letting him stay, even with a demotion, would just reinforce the whole Archers can get away with anything thing. Tell him that it was okay to throw me under the herd whenever he had the impulse to. I mean... take my father, for instance."

How punished not just Skoll, but Piety and Sven, had been when given the title of lowest for his crime, and still the man had done even worse the next year before abandoning his children altogether. It didn't work.

Ravenna Archer-Lyall
Ravenna's attention would shoot to her little cousin as she spoke then, backing up Sven, supporting that kicking both Odin and his friend out from the ranks had been the best decision and that the possibility of placing the youth as lowest would not have been the correct way to go about the situation. She nodded to Adeltra's words if only to confirm she listened to and understood the girl's verdict and her words would not go unheard even if she held no ranking amongst the Leads.

Sven spoke up again, confirming that Odin was well old enough to know his mistakes. It was true, he was much old enough to know better. Any and all of Morganna's children should know better. After all, Adeltra and Romanov didn't act like that. Niles, herself and Isolde had not acted in such a manner to their elders. Hell, even Sven in his youth as a little terror had ended up growing up rather quickly. Perhaps it was because of living with Elettra and Enoki. Perhaps it was because they had been made to grow because they had to take care of their aging elders. Perhaps even it was because Morganna just let her children learn on their own instead of teaching them.

In the end, whatever reason, Ravenna found herself shrugging. With how large their family was, with how dominant, proud, arrogant and independent so many of them were, they were bound to butt heads from time to time, or even more so. "I guess you have a point..." Ravenna said only, deciding that the decision had been made and it had been for the best and that was that. Nothing more could really be done on the matter. It was her and Sven's placement to keep the pack strong and unified and she trusted him to know what was best in order to do so.

Moving a bit closer to Sven, she reached out to nudge the top of her head into the top of his shoulder, silver eyes dancing over towards Adeltra. "How's about you two take a break for a bit? We can snack on something in the cache by the creek." She offered as she moved away from Sven's side and took a few quick paces off, pausing only to see if they would join her. Maybe something to eat and cool their paws off in the water would do her family some good.

Addy glanced sideways as Sven spoke, admiring the way he spoke. His words were smooth and to the point, holding a truth they all knew. They, of all packs, didn’t need such insubordination. She knew little about the events that had happened before her birth, but what she did know she didn’t know what to feel about. Elettra had been a strong, steadfast leader, but she had had far too much of a soft spot for her kin. Perhaps it was just because Adeltra wasn’t old enough and didn’t have pups of her own, but she thought that if her own had done what Skoll or Bojay had done, they would have received the same punishment and Odin.

Her attention turned the matriarch in front of her, who conceded to his explanation. Her tail gave a small wag. It was certainly not a happy situation, but it was good to see the pair working in tandem. Ravenna offered a break and Adeltra was quick to oblige, moving forward to catch up with the pale woman. She could use some comfort food.

She... accepted what he had to say, conceded that he had a point. Sven had readied himself for a battle even though this understanding was what he'd hoped for. The tension in his shoulders eased and he gazed upon Ravenna's tired face with nothing less than adoration. When she offered a communal meal, he was happy to oblige, slipping forward and running his cheek along her shoulder and neck affectionately.

Genuinely happy that she was the one at his side through all of the bullshit.
