Fade with your response?

Elias clamped down as hard as he could, till his mouth was awash with the taste of blood. Phew, for a moment there he thought he'd screwed up big time, that he'd missed his chance. But now that the two of them were wrangling the big, wiggly fish it was obvious that the fight was won- that they had emerged victorious. Only when the fish was dead did Elias wade back to the shore and drop their prize to the ground. He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times to loosen up his jaw then turned his attention to his companion. What were they going to do, rip it in half? Have one side each?

He'd been about to suggest they share when four figures emerged from the forest. For a moment he wondered if they were Driftwood wolves, angry that he was fishing in their lake. But no, those weren't wolves, they were coyotes. Heck. They had no doubt smelled the blood and come to investigate, to steal the fruits of their labour. Well, that was hardly fair. Elias had no interest in just handing it over.

Picking up the fish once more, Elias jerked his neck, motioning for the loner to follow him.

"Issh way, um back wid meh. We can shore whern wur safe."The coyotes hopefully wouldn't follow them back to the keep, at least then they'd be able to take their share in peace.

Corona Fayre

you can reach for the moon

Corona was so excited, she was practically jumping for joy as he brought it to shore! They did it!

"Ahhh yes!" she would bark eagerly. That is until, through the treeline, four shadows emerged. "Ahhh no!" she corrected, a low growl emanating from her throat. "Coyotes, again!?" She snarled, ears erect her shoulders keeping even with her head. She was tired of these blokes stealing all of her company! This time she'd fight.

The intruders quickly inched forward, snarling and barking their own warnings. As she stood her ground however, out of the corner of her eyes, she saw her newfound friend grab the fish. Gray eyes darted to him as he explained himself. Ugh! He was right, she was far too weak from hunger to fight four coyotes! She just wanted to win, and win she would, fore the coyotes knew nothing of their plans.

Corona corrected herself and looked at him in all seriousness; as much as she wanted to fight these buggars, she trusted her friend's opinion far more than she trusted her own strength at this point. With every second she didn't eat that fish, she would slowly begin to lose her footing. So she nodded to him, but somehow she needed to keep those coyotes at bay. Quickly she thought up a plan.
"Go on, I'll distract them." She would not wait for his response. As swiftly as she'd spoke, she rushed to the water's edge and waded in to her belly. Nose to the surface she stood quietly until a slight sliver washed underneath her chin. She dove her nose in, the blood was extremely distracting, but this was a small one, and the one she and her friend had caught was much more meatier. Quickly she threw it into the middle of the coyotes, sure to hold onto a piece -just for a taste- and took off after her friend.

-Corona exits as she follows Elias-
