Now that they were all here, Nori figured it was as good a time as any to really scout out the territory. It was part of her job, she figured, and while she'd done a quick look-over before, it couldn't hurt to go back through and make sure there was nothing wrong with the place.

Her legs still ached a bit from the long journey and lack of rest, so her pace was slower than usual. That was fine - she wasn't looking to bolt through the place. A slow stroll would do just fine.

Assuming she was alone in the woods, Nori was not paying attention to anyone that might be trailing after her.

Sam had itchy paws.

Not REALLY itchy, but she wanted to keep exploring and they'd stopped travelling and now she was starting to feel a bit trapped. Everyone else got to roam around, even her age-mates, so why couldn't she? Her mother's hovering was finally starting to truly annoy the pup.

Sooooo when Sam spotted her cousin wandering off she followed, slipping away from her parents. She'd be safe with Nori anyway, and they'd probably be back before mom noticed she was gone.

Once they were far enough away Jessamy spend up, trotting until she was bouncing along beside Nori, her tongue lolling out in a happy grin.

She'd been so wrapped up in what she was doing that the sudden sound of pawsteps caused her to jump a little. But it was clear the steps were light and bouncing, and Jessamy's appearance at her side, tongue lolling and tail wagging, made her relax. Nori hadn't had much one-on-one time with many of her packmates, especially her youngest cousins, so this was both something she'd been looking forward to and something she'd been anxious about.

Because her last encounters with her cousins had gone so well.

Not to mention the fact that Nori had never been around pups before - not really. An only child that avoided the Cove pups like the plague when she lived there before, she'd never really had any experience with them. This was a new thing altogether.

"Hi, there," she started, offering the pup a smile and a wag of her tail. "You gonna help me check out the territory today?"
