@Gent and @Jynx
The weather is cool and partly cloudy with a chance of rain.
Jynx you can jump in whenever you are ready

For a long time now Emrys had been considering that the life of a loner might not be what he needs any longer. That perhaps he might be able to do more good within a pack, he could serve the members and possibly even help bring others together. As a loner he didn’t believe that he could bring others together because while he seemed to have been well received by many he knew his place as a loner. After his last meeting with Jynx and seeing how happy she was in her new pack he wondered if it might be the same for him. If he were honest with himself the older he became the more lonely living on his own seemed to be and he thought that perhaps he needed the company of others especially that of his friend once more.

Even though he hadn’t completely made up his mid he didn’t think that it would hurt to find out about his options which was why he’d made the decision to head north once more. He hoped that he might find discover the answers that he was looking for. The decision to travel by way of the Ghastly Woods however was deliberate as there were important plants there that he could collect on his journey. Where ever he ended up they would be needed.

Emrys wasn’t sure how long he’d been in the woods before he came across a stand Concolor Fur’s. A smile crossed his face as he looked over the tree’s bark. “You will be most helpful,” he commented as he approached the tree preparing to collect some of the bark.

Gent Lieris
Once again Gent was traveling away from the comfort of his home in search of bolstering the numbers of his pack. While the cool breeze was a welcomed contrast to the heat that had taken the land, the sky whispered rain and were the shade king any less determined he might have chosen to spend the day playing with his children instead of risking getting caught at the mercy of precipitation. As it was, he merely hoped against hope that the clear, dry air would hold out and he might be able to go about his day in peace.

One with the shadows he slunk amidst the foggy undergrowth of the forest. His senses were alert to all that occurred around him, and while his intent was to discover rogue strangers, happiness lit inside his breast as a scent crossed through his lungs and he found that he recognized it. The other man's name came easily to him, given the impression the traveling healer had left the luminary with. Emrys. A truepenny wolf who better yet had a knack for herbology and what seemed to be a genuinely altruistic attitude. While Gent did not align with such noble virtue him, he found it to be desirable in others.

Pursuing the man's location, Gent swiftly found him. His ears picked up to catch something Emrys was saying, and a quick observation once arrived informed him of what exactly the white wolf was up to.

"Would you like some assistance?" he offered with a smile.

Being in the Ghastly woods seemed much colder than the weather he had experienced before entering the wood. Emrys wasn’t sure if this was due to the woods actually being colder or just the feeling that he got being in them. The low hanging fog did nothing to put the white healer at ease but he had to travel into the wood to find what he was looking for. The tree that would provide him with bark that could be most helpful in the future if he came into a situation where it was needed. He'd already learned that having certain supplies on hand was extremely important and he did not want to be without again. Which was why he wouldn't let the darkness and fog that surrounded him to deter him from acquiring what he'd come for.

It didn't seem to take him to long to find the trees and as he gazed at its height his tail swished with excitement, he’d found what he was looking for. Now all that was left to do was collect some of the bark to take back to his den in Hush meadow. While trying to decide the best way to collect the bark Emrys thought about his stores and whether he should take them with him if he did join a pack, it was a decision that he would need to make. It had taken him a long time to collect them and he would hate to leave them behind.

His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice causing him to turn. “What a pleasant surprise," stated Emrys in greeting of the dark Alpha's presence, "Some assistance would be most helpful. I need to collect some of the bark from this tree," he explained.

Jynx Myrddin
RE: Jynx, you misstep on a hill and roll your ankle.

Gent was not the only wolf from the Notch that was out exploring today. The tenacious hunter to be, was also out for a stroll. Not to enjoy the recent snap of cooler air, but to investigate. The shadowy woods to the south of her home was a source of interest for the wolf. Gent had once mentioned offhandedly to her in conversation, that there was a time in his life when he and a previous pack, called the forest home. As a region where Jynx had yet to fully explore, she saw no reason not to check the old haunt out herself. Double the fact that the area might hold some potential for reasonable hunting. Ever intent on tracking and memorizing the many game trails and patterns of her prey, she was utilizing her skill set to the maximum by veering off the beaten path, to ensure the pack had alternatives, should their hunting ground of choice fail to provide. Keeping a watchful eye on the beasts they feasted on, by monitoring their numbers, health and locations, was a crucial component in a hunters life.

Unknowingly following the path of her dark King, Jynx was focused not on the scent of other wolves, but of prey. Any traces left in the air were stale...at least several days old. But the well defined set of multiple hoof prints in the dirt, was a sure sign that a group of Elk had passed through recently. Coming to a stop beside the tracks, she bent down to sniff the earth. Inhaling the musty scent, while simultaneously evaluating what the information gave her. Females. Two older, three in their prime. One showing signs of a possible tooth infection. She snorted softly, the air pushing from her nose just strong enough to stir the leaf litter at her paws. Sharp yellow eyes narrowed as she swung her head to the right, slightly. Jynx felt that there wasn't any rush to track down the group any further. She knew where they had been, their numbers and their general state of health. The one that may be ill, would only deteriorate further over time, making her a perfect target in the future.

What she had not expected upon entering this forest, was how dark and foggy it would be. The sky was nearly blocked out by the thick tangle of overhead branches and leaves of the trees. Almost no light at all filtered in to the ground. The mist around her legs was thick, making it difficult at times, to see exactly where she was going. Not put off by this minor nuisance, Jynx simply dealt with it by taking it slow, feeling how the ground shifted or sloped in any given direction. She then adjusted her footing accordingly. As she picked her way steadily through the thick, dim forest, a set of two familiar scents reached her nose. She recognized Gent's instantly and with it was...Emrys'. As if re-animated, Jynx snapped her head up, eyes bright, tail beating in a steady wag. What wonderful timing! She would love to see how the two males, so contrasting in coloration, got on with one another. And she would never turn down the chance to mingle with her Alpha, or her friend.

Increasing her strides just slightly, she tracked them down, eager to find out what they were up to. Due to the low visibility, courtesy of the fog, she couldn't see them, but she could now hear their distant voices. Curiosity taking a firmer hold, the flame colored wolf had grown lax in watching her footing over the terrain. The sudden curve of a hill downwards took her by surprise. Where she expected to feel solid earth, there was nothing but slick grass and mud, made damp by the moisture of the mist. Her left hind leg buckled awkwardly, jolted to the side. The same leg she had injured nearly a year ago. Fresh pain seared through the muscle and the joint of her ankle, which protested angrily. Clenching her teeth together in a silent hiss, Jynx had to bite her tongue from crying out. Only when she had recovered from her stumble, did she attempt to place her paw back in it's natural position. But that was a no go, as a sharp stab of pain forced her to withdraw the instant she bore weight on it. Unaware of how close she had gotten to Gent and Emrys by now, this time she did not hold back a swear. "God damn it! Jynx you idiot!"

Gent Lieris
Gent was received just as amiably as he expected, his offer being easily taken advantage of as Emrys affirmed that the help could be used. Matriculated then and there into the duty the alpha slipped forward, approaching an opposing side of the thick trunk. Having harvest bark for his own uses many times before, he put little thought into the habitual action. His head turned to the side, he parted his jaws and used his canines to pry into the loosened crevices to pull chunks away.

Between chomps he asked, "this for your little dragon's horde?"

Yet before his company had time even to answer, a third voice spoke up. The words were clearly not directed to them, but discernible as they were the alpha's attention was immediately snagged. He knew that voice, and as if to confirm the identity, the huntress named herself with a curse.

"Jynx," he repeated, as though that would be explanation enough for Emrys as Gent suddenly abandoned the task and disappeared amongst the fog and trees in her direction. He slithered effortlessly quick to her side, concern present upon his features. It was clear once she was visible what the problem was, though he didn't know how it had happened.

"How badly does it hurt?" he asked, without greeting or explanation as to why he had suddenly materialized to aid her.

Bark was not always the easiest thing to harvest and Emrys wasn't sure how difficult this task was going to be.  So when Gent offered to help Emrys didn't turn him down.  With help the task would go much faster and he could get out of these woods that gave him such a bad feeling. While Gent moved to the other side and began working Emrys picked a piece of bark from the side he was on and with his canines started prying it from the tree.  The healer took care trying not to break the piece too much so it would come off as a good size chunk.  His technique worked and soon the piece was off.

As he started on another Gent's voice reached his ears from the other side of the tree.  The question caused him to smile around the piece of bark he was prying off the tree.

Before there was Time to answer a voice reached his ears causing him to turn his head in the direction it had come from.  Emrys didn't need to hear her name to know it was jynx, he would know her voice anywhere.

Before he could go to her aide Emrys's attention was drawn back to Gent as he repeated her name. Like the dark alpha the healer left his work and raced through the trees and fog to reach her.  He wanted to get to her as soon as possible in case there was something seriously wrong with her.  Upon reaching her Emrys could see she was hurt  but it was hard to discern how badly without examining her.  His mind was racing with all of the possibly treatments for her injury.

While Gent asked her how badly it hurt Emrys had arrived by her side as well and nudged her cheek with his muzzle in greeting and in an effort to comfort her.  His worry for her was evident across his features as he asked, "Do you think it's broken?" Thus question would help him know what to do or give her to help her.

This was not the way she wanted to reunite with two of her closest friends. Oh, what an impression she'd make this time! Burning yellow eyes flicked down to visually inspect her left hind leg. The leg itself appeared intact, undamaged in any way. The joint however, seared with spikes of pain. The muscles and tendons wrapping around it would no doubt begin to swell shortly. Snapping her head back up, it was the sound of dual footsteps rushing hurriedly to her aid. Emrys and Gent, no doubt. As the two wolves emerged from the shadows, sliding up to gather close, she wore a look of clear irritability on her face. It was obvious she was being hard on herself for her own stupidity.

Delicately keeping her injured foot mere inches above the ground, she answered both of their questions. "Bad enough that I can't put any weight on it." She met Emrys' eyes while she answered him. She would have happily returned his almost affectionate greeting, but in Gent's presence, did not deem it appropriate. She would express her gratitude later. "I don't think so...I just stumbled quite badly." Curling her lips into a sneer in self irritation, she gazed ahead. "I injured it like this before...almost last season. Tch. I thought it had healed completely." While that could have indeed been the case, there was also the chance that her injured ankle had not gotten enough time to recover properly, strengthening itself. If luck wasn't on her side, then maybe she would be stuck with a weak joint for the rest of her days. A thought that made the promising hunter cringe. What top hunter could perform with a weakness such as that?

Uncomfortable shifting her weight back and forth on three good paws, she carefully sat down, leaning towards the right, so her left leg was extended slightly. In the company of such trustworthy wolves, both who knew a thing or two about medicine, Jynx was confident they'd be able to help her out. Getting back home to the Notch to rest her injury was not her main concern. Instead, it was her future. She had enjoyed being active in these recent months, in providing for the pack. And now, with the likelihood of being put on bedrest...well, that did not agree with her much at all. Jynx was quite likely, not to be the most willing of patients.

Gent Lieris
Gent's ears cupped forward to take in every word, eager to gather all the information available to him when it came to his subordinate's well being. That she was hurt at all was a cause for alarm, and while she denied Emrys' inquiry into the possibility of having broken bone, the more she said the more he worried. That this had happened before caused him to perk, eyes snapping up to her face before focusing on the joint in question again. Recurring weakness was no good, not for any animal that wished to stay active. Had she actually broken it before, and the ankle had never properly healed? Or was the joint doomed to be fragile?

That he was concerned for anything beyond her immediate welfare would not be voiced, and only the knitting of his brows and the focus within his eyes spoke at all. Indeed, he felt compelled to allow @Emrys to take the lead on this incident. If need be for Jynx's safety or comfort, the king would of course step in right away. However, as it were, he wanted to see just how well the pale acquaintance truly knew his stuff. That he was not cosseting her would never even cross the woman's mind, he was certain, much less would she feel illy about it.

"Can you treat her, Emrys?" he asked levelly, locking his gaze upon the gypsy medic. Gent liked the man well enough, but this would truly define whether or not he could be trusted.

Emrys was worried about Jynx and the seriousness of the injury that she had sustained to her leg. As she went on to tell them that she had in fact been injured in the same leg once before worried Emrys that she may not be able to accomplish all that she wanted to. It was a relief that she had not broken her leg. However, she couldn’t put any weight on the leg which brought the healer to the conclusion that she had injured the joint. Emrys did wonder if her previous injury hadn’t healed completely and he also knew that she would require plenty of rest which he didn’t think that she would like at all. That was all unimportant right now in that moment because he had to think about what would help her.

It was lucky that he had come to the Ghastly Woods for a particular plant. It was just the one that would help relieve some of the pain at least enough to where he could get some other supplies from his den that he knew would help. His attention was brought to Gent when asked if he could treat her. “Yes, the bark that we were collecting before will help enough that we can get her home where she can rest.” He turned a stern gaze on Jynx, “She can rest comfortably there until her injury heals. I have a few other items in my den that will help as well which I can get later.” He didn’t think that it would take very long to collect those items.

“I will go and get the bark that we need and be back in a few moments,” he declared. Turning his attention on Jynx once more, “Try to lay as still as possible and we’ll get you some relief for the pain. I will be back as soon as I can,” He assured her before turning and taking off at a full run to reach the tree faster and get back sooner.
