Treyah Tainn
won't you light my lonely way back home?
Treyah Tainn

She missed the connections her brother had made, the high yowl was the first indication Treyah had that perhaps this meal had belonged to someone else. She thought to growl in response, a universal shove off offered to the pissy feline, but it wasn't alone and as it currently stood they were on level ground. One of them moved in close and she bared her teeth ready to take the cat face on before her brother shoved her aside. His pained yelp ripped at her guts and set a fire in her heart as she lunged in retaliation. The cat retreated far enough for her father to then cut her off and her mother to push her back as Kerberos moved in. This had quickly descended into chaos but the girl was still seeing red.

Nobody hurt her brother, except maybe sometimes her.

Eyes danced from one cat to the next, looking for any small opening. Her mother's growl fell on deaf ears, her movements just a touch too stiff to be effective as the girl stepped around her and moved to join her father in dealing with the one that had taken a swipe at her brother. On the back foot, a flailing paw did bat at her face, the sharp sting of claws just pricking the skin under the thick fur of her neck as her teeth aimed to grasp the cat by the shoulder and give it a shake for good measure.

Leotie Rhys
Guardian Dem 2/3

Since the bend was already established when she arrived there all she had to do was help to maintain the borders. So when they set out to establish the borders of their new home it was a completely new experience for her. She fell in behind the others leaving her scent as they did on various trees as she passed. She kept a close eye on the others so she wouldn't fall too far behind.

Her ears perked when she saw the others take off running unsure of what was going on but she didn't hesitate to follow. As she ran past where they had been only moments before two scents caught her attention. The first a strong scent of blood meaning one thing, a meal. The other was a scent she'd smelled before but never knew what it belonged to. She quickened her pace even more as the sound of a howl reached her ears followed shortly after by a yelp.

Only moments later she was on the scene which she took in quickly. Triell taking on one very large house cat looking creature and Kerb taking on another. Naira was doing what she could to protect the children but Treyah wasn't one to be held back. She was doing what she could to help her father leaving Kerb to face the second on his own. Leotie immediately jumped into the chaos going on around her to help Kerb with the second feline. She saw Kerb lunge at the cat and knew that it could go very wrong for him so she charged the cat barking to get its attention away from her rank mate.

doesn't matter if it's not okay

doesnt matter if it's not our day

Reiko wasn't sure what really happened first, or next. He only knew in one instance Treyah left his side, taking aim for the cat. Reiko readied himself to pounce, to back her again, when Dad came to their aid. Knocking the cat by surprise. The young boy's relief was short lived. There was still another cat, and his dad could not take both. He was eager to help. Why he was not enraged, he was ready to make sure the cats never returned. Mom's tawny figured suddenly appeared, placed in front of them, as Kerb took on the other with Leotie. He became conflicted.

Even more so as the growl his mother had given kept his body still. He had no want to get hurt any further, and he was the more obedient one, hating to displease his parents. Treyah managed to throw herself forward in the fight, trying to grab the cat. What could a brother do but, fall in after her again. He aimed his teeth at its rump, hoping to give Treyah a better chance. The duo were likely already at the end of a scolding, so might as well make it worth it.

Maera Slayer
Sorry for the hold-up! 2/3 Guardian Demonstration

It happened fast, but Maera kept up with ease. She heard that high-pitched howl, her eyes locking on the sight of a lynx protecting the prey it had taken on their land. She rushed forward to help, aiming to keep the creature away from the two youngest Tainns. Hopefully, they could make it through this with few injuries. She let out a fierce snarl in return, falling in line beside her mate before he lunged for it. She was watching his back with care. She noticed Treyah diving into battle out of the corner of her eye as she lunged. She could help them deal with that later, but right now Kerberos was her priority.

Leotie’s bark gave her the distraction she needed to take down the cat that threatened her Kerberos. She lunged from the side, aiming for a grip on that cat’s neck or shoulder to try and gain some leverage. Watch out for the claws. She reminded herself of the very present dangers, hoping Kerbr would also recognize to avoid them. She knew that he didn’t have the same fight experience she did, but she also knew that he was pretty damn good in a scuffle. He’d be fine. She had to keep telling herself that.

Triell Tainn
Why the others may have come to the rescue he did not let his attention waver. His momentum had been enough to get the lynx to fall back, and have to recalculate. But it was not defenseless nor easily persuaded to give up its meal just yet. Something he could not blame it for, but felt it was sure to regret.

He was not about to let it have a moment to think too much of its next move. With lip curled, he lunged taking a snap at the air by the creature's face in one clear warning. Ready to plant his teeth in something more solid, as he tried to keep light on his feet. Fiery eyes waiting for a tell from his opponent. A hint of where it would try to land its strike. It was just a flick of an eye, twitch of an arm when it aimed to swipe at his chest in turn. He dodged, just barely. He was no alone in his fight.

Treyah had taken the opportune moment to come in from behind. Reiko on the other flank. It was for no other reason did he swiftly act, snapping with only one thought, one motive more fiercely at the cat, snagging the side of his neck. A painful screech sounded, but in the moment he barely heard it. It would not impact his tightening bite. He was trying to keep it from lashing at his pups. Its thick foremen attempted to raise, but the cat had one too many Tainns upon it for it to be of much use.

Naira Tainn
OK guys, last round, let's try and get this one put away by the end of the month. <3
glitter & gold
Naira

With Leotie, Kerberos, and Maera on one cat, Triell, and the children on the other there wasn't much left for Naira to contribute. She circled around to try and find an opening on the cat that had attacked her children but with three large bodies already milling around there wasn't much left to consider. Surely by now, survival instincts had set in well and truly and the cats would be more intent on escape if the opportunity were presented at all. Low wolf growls and higher cat yowls filled the air along with the ever-thickening scent of blood. It made her fur stand on end as she gave up on the first and moved to the second.

Likewise, the rest of her packmates had matters under control and it would seem these felines would not escape with their lives. Not a bother though, a pair at this time of the year would have hinted at cubs come spring and the last thing she would abide so close to her home was a pissy pregnant feline and the resulting competition for the young of their own pack. She continued to mill about from one clump of bodies to the next, ready for this portion of the show to be done so they could all enjoy a bite to eat before continuing on their patrol.

won't you light my lonely way back home?
Treyah Tainn

Treyah had the cat by the shoulder, her father grabbed its neck, and Reiko had it by the back end, all it would take is one sharp tug for it all to be over, but the thought of the aftermath left a bitter taste in the back of her mouth that overruled the metallic tang that had begun to trickle between her teeth. The coppery scent of blood filled the air and it was all a little overwhelming for the girl who suddenly lessened her hold, but not enough to drop her hold completely. The limb she had been holding hung loosely and it was then she realised the gravity of the situation. Even if they let the cat go, it probably wouldn't survive.

So she clamped back down with renewed vigour to allow her father to finish the job, one small mercy offered to the cat that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or so she thought. It didn't stop the animal from bunching its muscular rear paw to swipe at her shoulder in a kick, the fresh burn of torn flesh a new sensation for the young wolf as he growl was muffled by the felines thick winter pelt. It didn't seem to be too deep, she was sure she would survive it, or that her mother would see to it that she did.

Leotie Rhys
Guardian Dem 3/3

What had started as a chance for their new pack to start and establish their territory as well as a bonding experience turned very bad very fast. Of course Leotie couldn't just sit on the sidelines and let everything happen around her. Though it probably would have been the safest course of action being she hadn't ever faced these felines before. She couldn't let it go and instead jumped right in when she arrived on scene and went to Kerbs aide since it seemed he needed the most help.

All thoughts of what was going on with the other cat had left her mind as she concentrated on what their feline was doing. She was sure that between the three of them the Tainns could take care of themselves. Kerb seemed to need her most in that moment as he lunged for the animal. Her barks in that moment served their purpose as the cats attention was drawn to her and we're met with loud hisses. It also seemed to give Maera the chance to get in and go after the cat so she could get a grip on it and maybe then it could be taken down. It had become clear that this cat and it's companion would not be leaving their new home. At least not in the state they currently were in. For more of a distraction Leotie did what she could to get a few nips at the animal's rump in hopes it would give someone an opening to end this.

Kerberos Rigel
quick one from me, if anyone has any issues with it please let me know.

There was no way the cats were getting out of this alive. Too many angry wolves on each of them for them to crawl back to where they came from. Somewhere in the flurry angry bodies on the cat, he was attacking the male managed to bite down on the neck. The yowl that came from the beast was awful but that only further pushed the tawny second to end this right now. His teeth eagerly sunk into the flesh and any sounds that might have once been clear were gurgled before being hushed completely. Twitching muscles would halt their movements. The wild cat would be free to fall to the ground limply if no one dragged it off first.

Kerberos was obviously stained but uninjured. His yellow eyes quickly scanned his group before looking at the others. If they needed help he was ready to pounce and defend their home. He had just done it once and it was better for him to keep going before his adrenaline completely wore off. So like a creeping shark he circled the scene. The strong smell of blood danced about in the air and Kerberos hoped none of it belonged to his packmates.

Maera Slayer
Quick and last post from me ^^ Guardian demonstration post 3/3

Maera had managed to latch onto the shoulder, holding it for all it was worth against the cat’s flailing before Kerberos managed to get a solid bite down on the creature’s neck, the blood tangy on her tongue as the tumultuous events came to a close and the woman released her vice grip off the chat, mouth hanging open in a form of disgust… cat’s always tasted weird. She pushed the thoughts aside, deeming them unimportant as she glanced towards the children and their alpha, but it appeared they had the situation handled all on their own. That was a relief.

She then turned her attention to Kerberos, quickly letting her eyes search him down for injuries, though she did not see anything significant, if at all. She then carefully glanced at Leotie, doing the same with her and finding what appeared to be the same results as before. That satisfied her enough and calmed her nerves, offering them both a wide grin. They’d just claimed their home in the best way possible – they did it by showing others the door and warning any animals nearby just who they would be messing with if they dare trot in the lands now marked by Charred Ash Draw.
