Aegir Sørenson
Trust your heart if the seas catch fire
Aegir Sørenson

Yeouch!!

Aegir whipped around and stared at his Ma with big-butter wouldn't melt- puppy eyes. What? He hadn't done anything wrong? He was just playing. Which of course he wasn't, he'd bitten her with every damn intention of hurting her. How else was he supposed to tell this stranger she wasn't welcome, that he didn't want her around. If he was more like his Da he would have told her as such, would have given her a scary growl and menacing glare. But as a little dragon he wasn't quite there yet.

Turning to the strange dark once again, Aegir squinted as she mumbled words he didn't understand. At least his Da tried to make sense, made noises Aegir could understand, but this one? Words were already hard and she was just making them all the more confusing for the little pup. He only had one parent who could speak, so it wasn't his fault he was a little slow and found it harder than most.

How was he supposed to sounds he didn't even understand.Coosin? He turned to his Ma, as though she would explain what she meant. But of course she didn't, Ma never said anything and that was okay, he wouldn't change her for anything.

"Naaah!" Aegir bellowed, declaring his distaste for this stranger aloud, so every creature in the woods would know how he felt.

Pip Mizuno-Sørenson

White Fir Notch. Pip committed the name to memory, though she had no way of knowing how to get there nor any way of asking for directions. Before she could motion for Nauja to hopefully expand on the location, the conversation turned to her son and she let the matter drop. When she needed it most, things tended to fall into place and happen as they were meant. If the time came that she needed to find her cousin, she would find her even if she had to track her through all of the Lore.

Of course, then Aegir had bitten her cousin. Despite @Nauja's reassurances that she could handle the pup, Pip was insistent. She was his mother and it was her duty to discipline him even if he was the most precious thing in the world. The dark female continued speaking to the boy in a way that Pip suspected he would not take kindly to. His father always used small words, short sentences to help him understand. So many foreign words would only frustrate him.

The little mute felt a moment of despair. If she were able to speak, would Aegir lack so much confidence and understanding in speech patterns of others? If she were able to speak, she would be able to tell her cousin to go slow, to take it easy on him. He was young and still learning and easily discouraged and frustrated.

But despair had to wait. Her son's angry bellow sent the sea wolf into action. It was a sticky situation. While Pip wanted her son to feel free to express himself - even his anger - when he needed to, there was a time and place for it. Against friends and family was not one of them. Though it was gentle, Pip clamped her jaws over Aegir's to silence him. When she let go, she looked down with disapproval. This, her eyes said, is not appropriate.

Nauja Mizuno

The sea wolf was glad that she had at least been able to tell her cousin where to find her before the visit went badly. She had wanted to tell Pip more about what had been going on in her life so that her cousin could know. Sometimes it bothered Nauja that her cousin couldn't talk because she would like to hear what her fellow sea wolf was thinking and feeling and all that had been happening with her. Often she will dered what Pip’s voice might sound like but she would never know.

Any plans to go further into the notch or what had led her to end up there were squashed as her tiny cousin bit her. It was getting clear to the sea wolf that he did not want her there for whatever reason. Still she thought that maybe she could help him see that she wasn't bad or there to hurt him or his mother. She tried talking with him and explaining but with little experience with children she was worried she wasn't helping matters. She watched silently as Pip tried to discipline the boy and while she didn't want him to get in trouble because of her she also knew that it might be necessary.

Then the child bellowed at her causing her to take a few steps back as Pip again disciplined him. “I'm sorry Pip, I didn't meant to upset him so,” she said quietly hoping that she wouldn't further upset the child. She turned her attention to the pup once more, “I'm sorry to you too I was only hoping we could be friends for your mother's sake. She's my family and so are you.” With that said she looked back to Pip, “Maybe he just needs some time.”

Nauja was sad that the boy was behaving as he was and she still wasn't sure what she had done to upset him so. The sea wolf hoped that maybe with a few more visits he might start to feel differently toward her and she could get to know him. The dark female was willing to give him that time but she also worried that he might never accept her. She didn't know what she would do if that happened.
