so tell me what's wrong with the feeling

Kerberos had found the bitterness in him sobering up in the silence his trip had offered. The wilds called to him, beckoned him to disappear into the woods without a warning. It was so awfully tempting but he had promised Treyah so much. He would prove himself even if it meant returning back to the bitterness he rooted in the Wildwood. All for her. Yet he prowled through the willows in search of someone else he yearned for.

He could only hope the tattered Archer would be home. The borders were cloaked in scents, hard to miss by his experienced nose. It was nice to know that they were around at least. The Rigel halted at a respectful distance for he didn't wish to gain any bad attention. He tipped his head back and called out in smooth tones. Kerberos was here for @Sven.

not looking for some fairytale bliss

Leotie had been up much too early for her and couldn't go back to sleep. Instead of laying there becoming more and more frustrated she rose to start her duties. She wasn't so far into her pregnancy that she couldn't hunt or do patrols so she kept up with it trying to get as much done to help the pack before she couldn't any longer. The picture of a very pregnant Enoki was always in her mind. Would she get to that point?

That thought was interrupted as she made her way through the Willows when a very familiar voice rang through the trees. She'd been meaning to see him so she had to go whether he wanted to see her or not. Leotie quickened her pace and soon found herself looking at the Rigel man. “Hello Kerb,” she greeted him before waiting for his reaction.

Sven Archer
the devil is & always will

Sven was returning to the pack's territory, a pair of plump ptarmigans swinging from his jaws, one each for Leotie and @Ravenna. He had tried to get something for Nicolo as well, but had failed, meaning he would have to head out again shortly. There was plenty in the caches, but the man was doing so poorly that Sven had taken it upon himself to ensure that his uncle's every meal was fresh. It was all he had planned, and while Kerberos' howl was an interruption, it was by no means an annoyance.

Stowing the birds just within the borders, he was quick to make his way to his friend. It should've been anticipated, as Leotie had always been quite the one-woman welcoming wagon, but he was surprised to see his paramour already greeting the Draw alpha. More than anything, he was surprised at how at ease she was. They hadn't talked of it in a long time, but Sven wouldn't have blamed her for harbouring negative emotions when it came to the friend that walked her out of the pack when she'd been ousted.

Approaching them at an angle, he went out of his way to drag his side against Leotie's, affectionately acknowledging her before butting his forehead against Kerberos' cheek.

"Well, well. What brings you here?"

be a gentleman.

you've been bitten by someone who's hungrier than you

He wasn't surprised by her presence. He had figured that someone from the Ridge would pluck her up or she'd go to them. It had always been her and Sven hadn't it? He had been a third wheel hoping for more. Hello. The Rigel said flatly although his tones were rough and uneven, giving away the fact that time had dwindled his shine.

The male wasn't interested in conversing with her so he didn't attempt any conversation and it was Sven who was met with a tiny smile. Although it quickly faded as he watched the Archer drag himself along Leotie. Kerberos wanted to vomit then and there. He wanted to spill his guts on their doorstep and leave as if that was all he had come here for. He was a fool to not notice the way they stunk of each other, how something about Leotie's scent had been off.

He pulled away from Sven's contact with a soft huff. Gentle with me. I'm a bit damaged. While the wound on his shoulder and neck had mostly healed, it was still tender. Movements by him were rough - rigid - as he favored it. Along with the fact that any close encounters made him feel like he was going to lash out. Wouldn't it be a joy if he ripped into everyone he cared for?

I came to see you. He cooed as he eyed the large male. A social visit between us. His words dripped with bittersweet honey as he glanced between the two of them. But hell, let's make it like old times, eh?

Sorry about her she's so very confused. Guardian Dem 2/3.

not looking for some fairytale bliss

She'd come to the border to try and make amends with her old friend. To show him that she no longer harboured any ill feelings toward him. His flat hello caused her ears to drop in disappointment as she’d hoped they could work through things, be friends again. It had taken her a long time to get to this place, to where she felt she found even talk to him.

A smile and a small kiss to the cheek was given to the father of her children as he brushed his side against her. Then as a smile from Kerb was given to Sven and she was completely disregarded by the draw alpha she couldn't help but feel hurt. Hadn't heard been the one to see her out of draw territory. He'd just stood there letting what happened happen and she was the one trying here.

Her head tilted to the side with her brows furrowed by the friendly way the two men greeted each other. As if nothing had ever happened and Kerb spoke of being damaged. Was she supposed to care? She had to wonder if she'd missed something? Had she been this whole time? The Agouti woman was very confused and suddenly felt like she was interrupting something. She felt that Kerb had made himself perfectly clear and yet she remained to see if maybe something would change, maybe he would have a change of heart, that one last hope that maybe she could have her friend back.

Though the words social visit and the way he said them bothered her, what was that all about. Her blue eyes landing on Sven, would he talk to her later? Her gaze returned to Kerb as he spoke of making it like old times, “Old times?” She asked evenly wondering if he meant the three of them or just him and Sven.

Sven Archer

It took Kerberos' words to draw Sven's gaze to the healing wound, something that hadn't been noticed previously. That was the first thing to worry him, and he then looked at his friend with new eyes, beginning to catch everything else that was off about him. A glance to Leotie made it clear that she was put off too, noticing the difference, and he confused on why their reactions weren't switched. Something was up, and he decided then and there that he would figure out what as swiftly as possible.

Let's make it like old times the Rigel offered, but Sven felt it was ingenuine. Leotie seemed to have the same impression, having to echo the words for clarification.

"No," he answered, before turning his head to face the pregnant woman.

"Leotie, can you give us some time alone? Go to the den, I'll find you there after."

It was clear, he would need privacy with Kerberos to figure out what had happened to him. He wouldn't dismiss his friend's need nor allow Leotie to stay in an awkward and potentially hurtful situation.

and the blood dries while we spill some more

His mask never lifted as the duo exchanged words. He was fine with Sven shooing Leotie off. Had he ran into the tawny female just a few weeks before he would have perhaps been thrilled to see her doing so well but it was hard to say. So much had changed and more importantly, he had changed.

So patiently he waited, rocking his weight from side to side in an unnoticeable fashion. He had wanted to come here to find Sven, feel the familiar stable feeling that usually came from the male but now he felt more unhinged than ever. The bitterness he thought had settled seemed to rear its head again. Maybe he couldn't help it, maybe the feeling would never truly go away.

not looking for some fairytale bliss

Whatever she had come to the border hoping for it seemed wasn't going to happen. Perhaps she'd been right all those months ago and Kerb really did want nothing to do with her. Leotie didn't know, she had wanted to give their friendship another chance, tell Kerb that she wasn't upset with him anymore but his treatment of her in that moment left her feeling like it was pointless.

Her blue eyes fell on Sven as he said her name before he dismissed her. This was what it was then it seemed. She wanted to tell him not to bother to come find her but she knew it was inappropriate. She then looked at Kerb before she turned and left to follow the order she'd been given.

Sven Archer

Both of them quieted with his decision, leaving the air thick with a tension and uncertainty. If Sven were a wolf that doubted himself, he might have questioned then if he had made a grave mistake. As it was, however, he remained faithful that separation had been the best course. He knew Leotie intimately, could tell in the flash of her pretty blue eyes that she was wounded, but it was better than risking whatever this was escalating. Something was wrong with Kerberos, deeply off, and he needed to figure it out before allowing others to be exposed to it.

He watched his paramour leave, then slipped forward, flank brushing Kerberos' shoulder as he moved past him to lead the way.

"Let's walk."
