Inna Baranski

After leaving Willow Ridge Inna had a whole list of things she needed to take care of. Time was running out for her so she had to move quickly if she wanted to get it all done. She was headed back to the north, she didn't want to go there but she needed the lavender that grew in the ethos, it was the only place she knew of in the lore to find it. She also knew Sweet Grass to grow around Hearthwood and she would need that too. The other herbs she figured had to be close by there as well. If she wanted things to go smoothly this trip was necessary no matter how much she didn't want to return to her old home. There was one thing she was looking forward to and that was the chance to visit her parents.

Night had fallen by the time she'd reached a place to rest. The sky was filled with hues of pinks and blues against a semi cloudy sky. When she entered the forest the first thing on her mind was finding a quiet place to sleep. She then planned to find herself something to eat. She'd been rather lucky finding food as of late so she wasn't as hungry as she had been. Inna could hear the muffled sound of water in the distance which was good, she would need that later.

She quickly found a soft place to spend the night under a pine tree and began her search from something to eat. Stepping lightly through the snow so as to not disturb any pretty Inna set her nose to the ground in search of a trail to follow.

She supposed this place could be considered pretty, in it's own way, if another wolf were to view it through their eyes, but to Eurus it was just more trees. This section of the forest was absent the hum and the comforting staticy-blur of the grove by the river further to the north. She also knew it was wise to take a break from time to time. When she started to lose days she knew it was time to venture out, just a little further, just until the morning. She needed a chance to reset.

It helped that finally the ache of heat was ebbing from her body, no longer having to fight the sickly crawling feeling that tried to push her out of her own head, trying to convince her that like air and water it was something that she needed. If there was one thing the young wolf loathed it was not being in control, and while she had known it was coming, and all the potential that it had presented, the severity of the experience had taken her by surprise. Very rarely was she caught so off guard.

As if to set a new trend, she paused, looking down to see just where her paws were leading her. The moon clearly illuminated the slushy trail in which she stood, so obviously that of a wolf that she sighed, her tongue clucking behind her teeth with a tch. She hadn't been seeking company tonight, but even she knew it was now to late to go unnoticed, if that had been her intention all along.

Inna stopped in her tracking as a pang of hunger hit her. Turning her head she brushed her muzzle against her abdomen, “Don't worry my little ones I will find us something to eat soon,” she crooned to her unborn children. Her fiery gaze then turned to the sky to see the darker hues of the night settling in. It was getting late and she would need to find something to eat soon. It had been hours since she'd last eaten and her appetite had grown in the past days. She wouldn't be able to rest until she had some food on her stomach.

Turning back to the trail she'd been following she put her nose to the ground in search of a scent that would lead her to food. She didn't want to be hunting at night but it was what she was doing. Each paw was placed carefully so that she didn't accidentally stumble in the snow. The last thing she needed was to be hurt when she still had so much to do.

Her ears caught a sound which brought her head up as she looked around. There on the trail behind her she saw the figure of another wolf. For a moment she paused unsure how to handle this situation. Usually she was alone not running into many others but this time she was pregnant. “It's not nice to sneak up behind other wolves you know?” She said to the other before waiting for a reply. She needed to know the intentions of this stranger most importantly she didn't have time for this.

we get what we deserve

At first it sounded as though the wolf Eurus was following might have company, but the scents were all wrong for something like that. In fact, the scents were off all together. She'd smelled his before, knew what it meant, but was unused to it coming alone. Usually it was buried somewhere beneath the scent of a pack.

When pawsteps moved toward her, she didn't try to hide or retreat, her eyes confirming what her nose already knew. She took in the dark coated stranger, ears tipped forward to take in her words. The sound that left her own lips was more an exhale than words, futuere, but her face didn't register any expression to convey annoyance or anger. If a word had to be put to the girls expression and tone, one could say she looked and sounded rather bored. "Shouldn't you be in a pack?" She finished her question with a long slow blink, watching the shadows dance just over the other woman's shoulder. She wasn't judging, she was just trying to figure out why this enounter had been forced upon her by the blur at all. What was so remarkable about this one?

At first Inna was a little worried when she sensed the presence of another wolf. She didn't know what they wanted if they wanted anything at all. Slowly she gained her confidence though, she knew what she was capable of. Her only worry was to keep her unborn children safe.

The wolf she found was a color she hadn’t ever seen in a wolf before. She stood out in the night but not in the way Lachesis would if he were standing there. She watched each movement of the girl, Inna could easily smell that she was a younger wolf. The Ravens ears came forward when she spoke about her being in a pack. “No, I don't have any reason to be.” While the pups growing inside of her were enough reason she wasn't a first time mother. She knew what needed to be done and she knew that most if not all the packs in the lore would not accept her.

we get what we deserve

Eurus contemplated the other wolf's answer, a heavy sigh leaving her lips, head tilting to one side, and then the other to stretch a kink in her neck. Golden eyes were half-lidded, as though she already knew the outcome of this encounter. Her shoulders rolled as if she had just woken from a long sleep and was going through the motions. "You might not now, but you will have." After all, who would feed her during the long weeks she would be confined to the den? "If you decide you need someone, but don't want all the..." A lip curled to show what she thought of pack existence without needing to articulate it with words, "I'll be by the river to the north. I know enough of plants not to kill you, if thats what you end up needing. Besides, it could do me some good to learn to share." The corner of her lip quirked up in a self-depreciating way, but there was something... off about the gesture, as though her facial muscles hadn't moved that way in a very long time. The winter had been hard on her, and as loathe as she was to admit it, she had been rather starved for company. She didn't wish to deal with the ever oppressive crush of company that was a pack, and besides, who would take her in as she was?

A small gathering of loners might just be a better bet.

Inna wouldn't deny that she knew the other wolf was right, she'd be better off with a pack. Perhaps trying to do all if this on her own was stupid and going to get her children killed but what choice did she have? No pack would take her now and even if they did she didn't want anything to do with a pack after what had happened in Hearthwood. Her thoughts on the matter seemed to match those of the stranger. It was an intriguing thing that was being offered to her just then. She hummed as she thought it over for a moment. “I have thought this through,” she stated. She'd spent many nights after finding out thinking about it. “I must ask what will you get out of helping me?” The idea of taking help from a wolf she didn't know a thing about bothered her. She had to think if her children and what this wolf was capable of. Still she could use the help in case something went wrong or her caches ran out before it was time. “If I agreed to what you are proposing how long would you stay? You wouldn't just up and disappear on me when I need you most would you?” The last thing she wanted to do was wake up one morning and find her gone and unable to leave the den.
