Elyan Myrddin
@Garmir RE: Elyan, you find a bunch of freshwater mussels at your nearest water source. Backdated to the 20th

The grey yearling and his companion were still at the lake, it had proven useful. Cooling off in the heat of the day and providing food for the pair. It was a good decision for them to have stayed in the area for the time being.

Elyan had slipped away from his travel companion for a trip to the lake. Wading in the water slowly he tried to not create much movement. His mismatched gaze searched for any large fish that might have come to feed.

He didn't find that but something else caught his eye instead. The Myrddin hadn't seen anything like the smooth surfaced, oddly shaped rock thing before. Grasping one from the bunch in his jaws he leapt back to the shore to  shore to investigate it further.

Garmir Ghostpaw
@Elyan Can you OOC backdate the thread to 20-21st?

"What you have there?" -A rough voice asked. Little further up the shore stood Garmir, worn, tired looking scout. He had made almost full circle around the Turtleback lake by now and he was already heading back towards home at Charred Ash Draw. Encountering Elyan had been pure chance but he did not shy away from meeting new faces. More he learned, the better.

He propably looked worse than what he realized, almost two weeks of scouting already starting to show on him. His fur was messed, he seemed tired and his posture was absolutely minimal. Garmir did not want to convey threatening image of himself so he kept respectable distance.

Aurek Artemieva

Aurek came rushing through from the forest, seemingly looking for Elyan in near panic. Coyotes had caught the youngsters again and were right on Aurek's trail. Being good friend he naturally had to bring them to Elyan as well. The two shared everything - even danger after all. "We need to go!" -He shouted as soon as he caught sight of his companion and his wet rock. As he noticed the earthen colored, scarred and rugged looking male, he at first mistook him for another coyote - a big one.

"Holy shit, a king coyote?!!" -He almost screamed, king coyote being new night time horror story invention of theirs (okay, mostly his.) Aurek was now caught between Garmir and approaching - real coyotes behind him and only reason the pale boy did not just tug his tail and run was because he refused to abandon Elyan.

Sorry about that, I fixed it.

Elyan was so focused turning the rock that didn't smell like a rock over with his paws that he didn't hear the approach of another wolf. It wasn't until he spoke that the grey yearling lifted his head to find out who had interrupted him. “Don't know,” he stated before lowering his head to clamp the thing in his jaws. He tried applying pressure but that didn't work, he was sure there was something inside. He could sense the man was still there so he once again looked up taking in his appearance. “The lake has good fishing. You might want to partake in it,” he suggested.

Any more conversation was cut off when his companion burst from the forest looking panicked. “I'm not ready to go,” he told Aurek, “What's gotten into you?” He asked having no idea why his pale friend was acting in such a manner. He looked over at the man when his friend declared him a king Coyote. Elyan bumped Aurek's shoulder, “He’s no coyote.” The man might not be one but Elyan’s mismatched gaze landed on three coyotes coming right for them. “But they are,” he said gesturing toward the tree line.

Garmir Ghostpaw
@Elyan

The earthen male looked down at the youngster whom was occupied with the study of that strange rock -thing. "I see." -was all he replied to it until Elyan gave him invitation to stay for a while for fishing. "I appriciate the offer, but I don't have much time." He was about to ask if the youngster was alone by the lake despite all the coyotes swarming around but the answer burst in through the forest, making quite an rukus with his entry.

Holy shit, a king coyote! Eh? Garmir looked down at his paws and then back to the pale boy that seemed to mistake him for oversized vermin. Had Garmir been more emotional, he might have taken offense to it, but suppose he did seem bit like one big, dirty coyote. Elyan of course corrected his friend right away and no sooner did actual coyotes appear to the scene.

All this while Garmir had been standing where he was, witnessing this scene unfold before him with no involvement what so ever. Of course the boy brought coyotes with him. Garmir only hoped the boys would not pick up on the pale wolf's advice and scoot. The earthen male had no reserves to waste on running. "Both of you.. get behind me. There is no need to run." -He murmured, or rather ordered the two with rough, tired voice.

Not until Elyan's reassurance did Aurek believe the dirty, worn looking man was actually just another wolf and not mighty king coyote he had been telling Elyan about the past nights. This still did not change the fact that the trio that had come behind him were still coyotes and as it had been already in past days, the two youngsters did struggle to fend them off between just the two of them. Aurek's plan still was to run but Garmir's order put end to those plans. Aurek's immense computing power kicked up to a gear as he re-assassed the situation. Three wolves... three coyotes.... three wolves... three coyotes. Holy shit... three wolves is greater than three coyotes! "Right! Elyan, we can stand our ground!"

And by standing ground Aurek meant hiding behind the older male and showing little bit of teeth and what not. The pale boy did just that, scooting behind Garmir.. or kind of to his side but still distinctly behind, giving faces to the coyotes, suddenly feeling quite brave too. "HAH! I led you to a trap you little shits!!" as if that had been his plan all along.

Elyan Myrddin

His treasure was all but forgotten but with the man standing there looking rather pathetic Elyan couldn't continue is investigation of the strange rock thing. He remembered when he had been in such a state, he'd been much younger at the time. “You should take the time,” he stated recognizing that this man was older than him and probably more experienced. The Myrddin didn't care much, it was his opinion from having been there himself.

Their conversation was interrupted and again he had to put his discovery on hold. Aurek had arrived and he wasn't alone. Once again they coyotes seemed to have targeted them. They we're going to have to brush up on their fighting skill if this was going to keep happening. His attention was turned to the stranger as he and his pale friend were ordered to get behind him. Elyan had his doubts but he obeyed, “We've gotten through an attack before and we'll get through this one.” He didn't have doubts about that.

The grey yearling positioned himself at the strangers flank ready for whatever was to come. He mismatched gaze did turn to his friend though, “Hopefully they will learn a lesson this time.” Clearly they hadn't before but coming face to face with three wolves might do the trick.

Garmir Ghostpaw
@Elyan

Three wolves against tree coyotes. There was no chance the lesser canines could win. Even so, there was plenty of aggressive posturing and snarling coming from the trio. Garmir appeared disinterested, almost tired. Elyan revealed the boys had already met group of coyotes. Perhaps these were the same ones even. "I don't think they are going to charge. They know they are outmatched." -Garmir murmured his obsevations. He looked to his both sides and then addressed both of the yearlings.

"We'll give them brief chase. Don't get separated. Don't run too far." -He adviced, making sure both of the boys were ready and understood what to do. "Understood?" He reaffirmed, especially waiting for A-okay from the pale one, whom seemed little more bumped.

Aurek Artemieva

Aurek for sure was excited to go and give a chase at the little shits. The very thought of it felt so very satisfying, especially after having spent night after night afraid of another coyote ambush. The pale boy was absolutely bristling, with his tail jutting sky high, buffed up. His teeth were bared and his eyes were filled with glee. "Lets rough up some coyotes already!" -He shouted back at the older male whom clearly appeared to be less interested in this whole ordeal, like it was more of a chore.

Aurek did not let that put down his own excitement. Seeing those Coyotes bristling and posturing but clearly afraid this once was already satisfying view and if the three wolves could actually send them running, that would make Aurek's day.
