She succeeded in forcing herself to look interested in the stars until she could no longer feel the burning of his eyes on her face. A soft sigh was almost released, but she then again held it in. The longer she looked at the stars, however, the more she actually became interested in the fiery balls of light. How did they get all the way up there? Did someone or something launch them up there? Did a human, perhaps, strung them on their bows and shoot the light balls into the sky? However, how did they make them stay?
All these questions whirled through the depths of her mind until she almost received a headache from thinking some much about a particular subject. Nevertheless, she was still curious about them. Her mother had told her a couple of stories of how the ancient alphas of the land lived up there and looked after us. She could vaguely remember them, but some parts came back to her. Her mother once told her that if you try to speak to the stars, they might actually speak back to you and help you with your problems. She never once tried it, as she never really believed in such things, but this got her wondering if it was actually true.
"Have you ever tried speaking to the stars?" She asked the dark brute besides her. She still stared up at the burning balls of fire with wonder written on her face. She almost wished that she could fly up there and try to collect one of them for her to keep. That would be too selfish of her, however. Others then would not be able to observe its beauty from below. Then again, they would be able to see it up close and personal.
