She had left behind @Hagar for the moment, inclined to return to him soon though. To siphon more of the good nature and playfulness if he might be inclined.

It had felt like his nature had recharged her.

Which gave her confidence to prowl through the willows on a hunt for trinkets. Even as she carried a strong perfume with her. She trusted she could fend off any evil doers with curses and violence alike. Not to mention...a helpful hand may only be a call away, no?

The lands here carried more than the Ravine had promised. It was good that she had been given leave from there, to come and trade their ways among far lands. A thought that she held onto as she found a bone half buried in the snow. A little wedging, a brittle snap. Part of a mule deer's rib had just become her own.

Now would come the important part as she clutched it tight between her jaws. A low sound started in the back of her throat, a vibrated hum that warmed the air in her foggy breath.

Her paws had brought her back to the willows, and with their sweeping boughs she recalled with a certain fondness of her last interaction. It had been eventful to say the least, and a part of her wandered if he was still around here somewhere. Was a round two in their future sometime?

A resounding snap startled Rye out of her reminiscing, standing tall at attention (not unlike a meerkat) with ears flicking around and nose twitching. It was a sound familiar to her, one of cracking bone, but there was no cry of anguish along with it. No - wait... she heard a low humming.

How intriguing.

Rye stalked forward, head low with long steps, intent on sneaking up on whoever was up ahead. She liked trinkets, and bones made good trinkets.

When the figure appeared around one of the willow trees she paused, head canting to the side, eyes squinting as she stared silently. A coyote? She sniffed the air. No, a wolf, and one that also had the overwhelmingly strong musk it seemed every female was permeating into the air. But the woman looked like a coyote. All scrawny and sharp angles. Rye was sure she could simply sit on the woman if she so desired.

"You got enough to share?" Her tongue ran over her teeth as she smiled widely, staring openly at the bone held tightly in the woman's maw. But she made no move and made sure her posture remained fairly neutral. There was no need to get aggressive just yet.

An ogre had come to interrupt her weaving it seemed.

Her teeth tightened around the bone tighter for a moment. With that she imparted notches upon the rib, marked it with her physical prowess even if she had not finished weaving her soul into it. Was this woman a trader too? Perhaps she was a warrior, come with no regard for the otherworldly ways that Niamh carried with her.

She settled the bone down upon the earth, placed one paw on it.

There is a skeleton buried in the snow. Do you know the power of bones? Her tongue lashed with the power of a soothsayer. She could give these things, for a price.

The woman stilled for a moment as they locked eyes, and Rye had no qualms at staring in an unblinking manner. Rude? Probably. But she had a thing for not caring about others' feelings. But eventually the bone was placed on the ground and a paw placed on top of, protectively, even. Well, Rye could respect that decision.

The woman spoke, asking a cryptic question. Had Rye been more of a thinker instead of a doer she might've questioned it in return, but as such as really couldn't care less about bones. What power could bones hold? They were just proof of failure of a creature to survive.

"Like... the marrow inside?" She deadpanned, raising a single brow with an indifferent expression on her face. And sure, she could dig up the buried skeleton in the snow, but taking something gave the item so much more value, and her eyes drifted down to the bone again.
