Weldering Darksidy
So Ranger detested his defiance? Well that was tough because as he pulled the carcass over towards himself and Roach there was nothing Ranger could do now short of challenging them both. It had been so long since he last tasted the flesh of deer, a creature that usually required more then one wolf to subdue. Glancing briefly over towards Roach with his bright twilight blue eyes he wondered if the stranger felt the same. Whatever the case was they were both hungry and not going to pass up a free meal. It was as plain as rubric text that everyone was on the opposite side to the dark painted she-wolf. Even as a familiar face appeared in front of him he eyed Ruiko the Swift River Beta with caution for a moment.

Thankfully Ruiko did not want to free meal or want to get involved, if anything he was on Weldering and Roach's side. It was odd how Ranger was listening to this packwolf over other lone wolves. They had pretty much said the same thing as Ruiko but she was still paying him respects which made Weldering scoff lightly before digging his muzzle into the side of the fallen buck. A single forepaw pressing down on the side of the carcass to steady it while he ate. His eyes still tilted up towards them with a small amount of caution.

Ruiko Tainn
Exit Ruiko. <3

The she-wolf seemed amicable enough to agree with him on that, and while he doubted that whatever possible disease infested the fallen creature would affect either wolf, he cared very little to claim the prize as his own. After all, as a strong pack, deer was not an uncommon meal to the wolves of Swift River.

What did surprise him was the gentle touch of the female. Ranger nudged his chin in respect, and in turn, the tawny male bowed his muzzle to gently clasp her snout in his jaws. It was only a second, and in turn he drew his muzzle back, but not before extending a friendly nip to her cheek. With that, he cast another glance to Weldering and Roach, not commenting on their presence further. He simply had nothing to say. With that, the male gave a nod to Ranger, and rather than making his way back up the mountain to visit Honijo as he had intended, Ruiko now strode down the steep slopes, curious as to whether or not the dark she-wolf would join him.

<blockquote>Kardinal Vermir was on the move. As a new pack member to Midnight Plateau, he had originally found himself on the way to the den. So much for the that. The scent of prey had attracted the former vagabond's attention. It wasn't dire hunger, as it once had been in the time long before he had ventured upon the lush and curious lands of Relic Lore. But a meal would be more than welcome for the small brown male. His golden eyes pushed lifted as his shoulders pushed through the brush. Before him arrived a curious, and in his opinion, a rather strange scene, where the scent of the kill was strongest.

Before him, several other wolves were gathered about, drawn, it appeared to the kill. But a <i>kill</i> it <i>wasn't</i>. No, it was a buck, and Kardinal would be much obliged to eat it, until he realized the hesitance of the other wolves. Lifting his nose, hanging back on the fringes of the gathering, Kar tasted the air. No stench of sickness...but the buck appeared to be healthy enough...despite the flies gathering around its open eyelids. The wolves weren't of the same alliance. Being a new pack member, Kardinal was only just able to detect the scent, among this rabble, or perhaps one packmate, but he was unfamiliar with them, having only met with the alpha to be accepted.

Rather nonchalantly for one so unfamiliar with them in the area, and yet so confident, he retreated his stance onto his haunches, and decided it was time to speak for benefit of investigation and conclusion. <b>"So I suppose no one's going to eat it?"</b> A small fire danced about his golden, iredescent eyes, a bit of a dare, but so subtle, it could easily have been denied that it was ever there. <b>"I smell no sickness, but perhaps...it is a strange one? But what am I saying, I know nothing."</b> He dipped his head in greeting, and then innocently returned to observing what was happening before him, intentions now unknown.</blockquote>

Sojourn Ranger Aquila
<i> Exit Ranger. :P Thanks for the thread guys! <3 </i>

Ranger had no qualms (now) with letting those stupid loners eat the deer. It smelled slightly strange to her and she would have buried it if given the time, to save others from getting sick, but luck had not been on her side. Ruiko clamped his teeth lightly around her muzzle and this surprised her. It was a show of dominance, but also one of acceptance. She held still while he removed his teeth, careful to not get cut by them, and watched him get up and leave.

As she had a lot to discuss with him, Ranger quickly followed. Without even a backward glance or any indication that she heard anything that the newcomer said, Ranger followed in Ruiko's footsteps. She had to talk to him about what just happened with that deer, but she also was slightly curious as to why he had accepted her loyalty so easily. Their meeting before hadn't given her much reason to believe he had any feelings for her at all, either good or bad. But now it seemed something had changed, so she followed him quietly.

Weldering Darksidy
Stupid loners? If Weldering knew that was what Ranger thought about him he might have had something to say about it. The taste of deer was a delicacy for a wolf who lived alone, unable to bring down a creature that required more then one set of paws and teeth. Even with a whole pack a deer hunt was not always successful. The silver and black male was paying less and less attention to Ruiko and Ranger, even to Roach who had fallen quiet again. His black mask delving deep into the free meal and eating as fats as he possibly could in case anything happened to cut his feast short. Though from the corner of his blue gaze he could see Ranger leaving taking a moment to study her finely coloured pelt similar to his own now that he back was turned, how pretty, he thought. Ruiko also left as did Roach and now Weldering was so pleased with himself shuffling between his paws as he kneaded at the ground and almost purred like a cat.

The voice of a stranger hovered in the air however causing him to lift up his muzzle again licking his lips clean with a grin. She must have caught the end of the previous conversation about whether or not the deer was edible. Weldering merely grinned and in his delightful good mood he shuffled over to the side to give her room as he invited her to join him and eat, there was plenty of food for both of them. <b style="color:#0d5b8c; font-family:geogia; font-size:13px">"Tastes good." He chirped to help encourage her to his side.
