Sagacity
Though Sagacity had a streak of pride, she felt it fade away- any trace of it faded from her veins- when he said she'd been right. She didn't want to be right. She'd wanted to be right when she'd first told him, but hearing the words come from him now didn't convince her, and it was too late. She clenched her jaw and tensed; her ears flicked back when she saw his features become more serious, and she hoped he wouldn't say anything that might sting her again. She couldn't stand it- and she knew he'd taken her comment about not coming to find them too seriously. What he said made her bite her tongue, and she was quiet for a moment, savouring the pain until she managed to force herself to speak.

She could feel a lump rising in her throat and she stifled an irritated growl. They'd run their course? She wanted to hiss at him- to tell him he was oblivious, that he would never find someone as good as she, and that he'd been an idiot to leave her. A younger Sagacity would have done just that- but she couldn't do it. They'd run their course, after all, and she felt incredibly spiteful when the words came from him. She stood up, suddenly, wincing as the pain shot through her haunch. "Well then. I guess we have run our course," She said, spitefully, and without another glance she brushed past him, sidled along the narrow passageway behind the ice and out into the open air. It wasn't long before she came upon the corpse of a young pronghorn- which was devoured in an enraged fury, as she didn't want to leave any bit behind for Newol to have. Once she'd eaten every last edible bit of it, she continued back toward her packlands, and resolved not to let her past skeletons get to her in the future. SHe'd simply pretend they didn't exist- that they'd all run their course.
