Everything that drowns me makes me feel alive
Halgen was mad; except when Hal went mad he didn't really show it. The subordinate had made the noise so they had started off before he had even pushed off. He pushed himself to run as fast as he could go to play catch up. He wasn't even sure he could catch a mountain goat by himself but then he realized one of them was practically dead. The other goat had taken the energy out of it and while it would put up a fight. it wouldn't put up too much of a fight. He quickly caught up and leapt at the kill as he knew he had no time to waste. He had aimed to grab the side of the goat to get a good hit in. He hit where he wanted and he could taste the blood on his lips.

He quickly made an exit from contact with the goat and leapt once more just as the goat started to run. He barely.... just barely caught the neck of the goat. It came down despite the evil subordinate's damned attitude. The other man had brought down the other goat and so the pack had food. Halgen started to drag it back to the borders. He quickly let his tail fall once more to below his stomach and he bowed. The dead goat resting beside him. The only marks on it were the areas he had hit where he had taken it down. "Please, allow me to prove myself further." He whispered.

Phineas Argyris
The male introduced himself – another potential joiner, and while the ivory regal would have been pleased that a rogue had chosen Magnolia Glen as a potential home to pledge their loyalty to, the season and it’s harshness had instead taken that possibility from the equation – lone wolves were seeking them out of desperation now, hoping to gain entry if only to spend the remainder of the winter with them. It was this thought that made him give a noncommittal grunt to the other, his own jaws opening to respond when the scent of one of his pack mate’s came to him.

Caleb emerged from the foliage of the land – a stark contrast against the cloaked white grounds. His greeting was met with a nudge of his own to the wolf. It was then that Caleb scorned the other, and blinking his fiery eyes, his gaze drifted back to the other to see how the altercation would go. It could have been viewed that the Second was overstepping his boundaries, and yet the regal felt no threat by the submissive stance Caleb maintained while in his presence. Instead, his own muzzle gave a nod and allowed his ebony subordinate to play his games. He, in turn, would stand behind and observe.

Caleb it seemed was not one to play fairly though, and before the rogue was prepared, the swarthy male had spooked the creatures. The amusement in it could be seen – but far better saved for a time when the pack itself did not desperately need the meat and would have benefitted the stranger catching it. His eyes followed Caleb as the male took his prize and left, stating nothing of this fact – at least there was one goat going to feed his cubs.

However, surprise came when the other did manage the catch – and yet as he watched on, it became apparent it was only due to an injury it had sustained before. As Halgen brought his catch to the borders, the ivory male considered him. He had been willing to work with a complete stranger to prove himself, and as the words whispered past his lips, a soft sigh escaped the Argyris. Leaning forward, he made to grasp the other’s muzzle in his jaws – a sign of acceptance to his ranks.

Acceptance.

Halgen felt the alpha male grab his muzzle and he remained calm. By now, he knew the drill when it came to packs. In Sinister Falls he had watched his parents accept many who would just later turn on them or leave forever. Halgen refused to be like that; even though it was not the way he wanted to join a pack it was still a home. As the man let go of his muzzle he offered a gaze of gratitude as he took the goat and dragged it over the borders. He would find his way to the caches or at the very least he would figure something out. He had things to do and he hauled the goat towards the middle of the territory.

He'd find a place to store it; or at the very least he would find wolves to eat. Winter was harsh, cold and he had almost died last time as a lone wolf. It made him feel good to know that this winter he would survive. His eyes narrowed as he found his way throughout the territory. The alpha male didn't seem like the one for talking and Hal was alright with that. Perhaps someone else from the pack could teach him a thing or two about the territory. His inner self gave a sly smile. His sister was probably leading Sinister Falls. She had probably found a way to do it and he was glad. He had his own family now. Well, at least he was pretty sure. A pack was a family right?
