He did not really know what to do. The ebony boy felt a little uncomfortable against the scrutinizing gaze of his older sister and unofficial uncle. He could tell that they were a little surprised to meet him, which made him even more nervous despite his somewhat calm exterior. His ears were folded neatly across the back of his crown as he observed the pair and committed their perplexing scents to memory. They smelt similar to the mountains but different … almost wilder despite hailing from a pack. It was woodsy and smelt like home, even though Orionis wasn’t really sure what home was. He and his mother seldom stayed in once place for longer than a few days now that he was old enough to travel. They had no home—which made him both sad and happy. They were free like the birds flying overhead but it was still lonely to know that they were all on their own. But it made their bond even stronger.
He shrugged at his older sister’s question, his head tipping softly to the side as she explained that they shared a mom (Inna) and that she would look after him. Huh. Did that mean she was coming with them? Or that they were staying? Orionis was confused. His jaws remained clamped together as he turned to the pale male as he spoke. Orionis dipped his head out of respect, his cheeks flushing crimson beneath the regal wolf’s chartreuse gaze. His mother had explained the importance of both Lachesis and Oksana to him, to which he nodded to show that he understood. But he did not speak. He was far too engrossed in the conversation between his mother and the green-eyed cloud.
