Blackmoore had been lucky indeed, according to her own words, that she had been pregnant. But if she wasn't, the male wouldn't say what he did in the first place, right? Perhaps she had even realized that, as she reminded herself of the blessing she'd got to carry on for a while longer. The duo however had sadly no time to continue their word games, nor to latch on to semantics - as the action had begun to roll forward. But not gently, like a limousine. More like a uneven boulder, that got pushed onto downhill slope - gathering more and more speed as it went. Hence why the male did left her words unanswered, as they could always go back to them later. After everything tones down, and hopefully them two find a place to sit down and laugh from the event that is.
But that would had to be earned it seemed. Blackmoore had been grateful however for that Ravenna called for help the same moment he was growling at the overzealous, perhaps the least experienced coyote in the group that set their sights on them. He wondered why however. Why they were so combative today? Sure, some of them could get as large as some of the smallest of Ravenna's or Blackmoore's kin - but generally their place was well defined. The wolves would generally not bother them and leave them alone and so they would do the same. Yes, it wasn't out of kindness of one's heart but... It was better that way. Less competition for food from same sources that is.
Whatever the reason, if they'll keep proving to be a danger - they'll have to be dealt with sooner or later. Blackmoore wasn't bloodthirsty, but with the pup season behind the corner - the situation will have to be resolved one way or another eventually.
Just like the one he and Ravenna were currently in. The male have caught up to his friend almost instantaneously, placing himself just behind her - with his head on a swivel. Trying to make the most of the bad situation they have found themselves in. With both coyotes on the flanks threatening Ravenna, Blackmoore had been effectively pinned in position by their placement. He would expose her if the male had committed to the either side obviously. The dark male wouldn't mind a stalemate like this to drag on until they reach the safe, hopefully, lands of her pack. However that's where the third coyote, the one that duped him early for a few seconds - not like these would matter after few paces with Ravenna being slowed down by her offspring - before they got on the move. Just like the silvery woman predicted, the little pest had no troubles keeping pace with them. The little cur tried to coax out reaction from Blackmoore as the little shit tried to dig in into his rear. No matter would it be a tail or his hind legs.
The coyote had almost coaxed a reaction from the man as he scratched and threatened his backside. Causing Blackmoore to fall behind for a length or two as he had to threaten the little pest enough to have him back off far enough. Always growling furiously and curling his lips up as the male was looking behind and then instantly leaping forward before the other two jackals came close enough to bite on Ravenna. For now, the male had been fast enough to scare them off in time - but this situation was not going to last forever.
Fortunately for the escapee's - someone else have come to their aid before the smallest of the three scavengers managed to hit a jackpot and bite in into his hind leg and doing any serious damage. A fury of barks have descended upon them from the front. Snapping and growling to the either side, telling the curs to back off and step away. They of course have not done just that, but the occurrence have slowed their attacks down for a moment as the yotes were re-evaluating the targets. Having help come to them, perhaps Ravenna could slow down a little to catch her breath. He would, obviously, adjust himself to that if she'd decided to do so. After all, her guts had to be quite a burden - at least when running for safety is concerned.
Only after a moment Blackmoore would realize that the somewhat familiar sight of the stranger that joined them had been caused by the same condition in which Ravenna's companion was in. The male had been quite surprised by that it was another pregnant woman being the first to come in response for the amazon's call. Was the pack devoid of others that had not been in blessed state or what? He didn't knew, but there was neither the time to wonder about it.
Dependently on the women's lead, Blackmoore was going to either circle them as they slowed down or stopped for a breather - or follow from behind just like before. The male was going to keep his priorities straight and keep his guard up until they all were going to be safe.
Hopefully the border was close by now...
