Blackmoore Northcrest

Blackmoore had been lucky indeed, according to her own words, that she had been pregnant. But if she wasn't, the male wouldn't say what he did in the first place, right? Perhaps she had even realized that, as she reminded herself of the blessing she'd got to carry on for a while longer. The duo however had sadly no time to continue their word games, nor to latch on to semantics - as the action had begun to roll forward. But not gently, like a limousine. More like a uneven boulder, that got pushed onto downhill slope - gathering more and more speed as it went. Hence why the male did left her words unanswered, as they could always go back to them later. After everything tones down, and hopefully them two find a place to sit down and laugh from the event that is.

But that would had to be earned it seemed. Blackmoore had been grateful however for that Ravenna called for help the same moment he was growling at the overzealous, perhaps the least experienced coyote in the group that set their sights on them. He wondered why however. Why they were so combative today? Sure, some of them could get as large as some of the smallest of Ravenna's or Blackmoore's kin - but generally their place was well defined. The wolves would generally not bother them and leave them alone and so they would do the same. Yes, it wasn't out of kindness of one's heart but... It was better that way. Less competition for food from same sources that is.

Whatever the reason, if they'll keep proving to be a danger - they'll have to be dealt with sooner or later. Blackmoore wasn't bloodthirsty, but with the pup season behind the corner - the situation will have to be resolved one way or another eventually.

Just like the one he and Ravenna were currently in. The male have caught up to his friend almost instantaneously, placing himself just behind her - with his head on a swivel. Trying to make the most of the bad situation they have found themselves in. With both coyotes on the flanks threatening Ravenna, Blackmoore had been effectively pinned in position by their placement. He would expose her if the male had committed to the either side obviously. The dark male wouldn't mind a stalemate like this to drag on until they reach the safe, hopefully, lands of her pack. However that's where the third coyote, the one that duped him early for a few seconds - not like these would matter after few paces with Ravenna being slowed down by her offspring - before they got on the move. Just like the silvery woman predicted, the little pest had no troubles keeping pace with them. The little cur tried to coax out reaction from Blackmoore as the little shit tried to dig in into his rear. No matter would it be a tail or his hind legs.

The coyote had almost coaxed a reaction from the man as he scratched and threatened his backside. Causing Blackmoore to fall behind for a length or two as he had to threaten the little pest enough to have him back off far enough. Always growling furiously and curling his lips up as the male was looking behind and then instantly leaping forward before the other two jackals came close enough to bite on Ravenna. For now, the male had  been fast enough to scare them off in time - but this situation was not going to last forever.

Fortunately for the escapee's - someone else have come to their aid before the smallest of the three scavengers managed to hit a jackpot and bite in into his hind leg and doing any serious damage. A fury of barks have descended upon them from the front. Snapping and growling to the either side, telling the curs to back off and step away. They of course have not done just that, but the occurrence have slowed their attacks down for a moment as the yotes were re-evaluating the targets. Having help come to them, perhaps Ravenna could slow down a little to catch her breath. He would, obviously, adjust himself to that if she'd decided to do so. After all, her guts had to be quite a burden - at least when running for safety is concerned.

Only after a moment Blackmoore would realize that the somewhat familiar sight of the stranger that joined them had been caused by the same condition in which Ravenna's companion was in. The male had been quite surprised by that it was another pregnant woman being the first to come in response for the amazon's call. Was the pack devoid of others that had not been in blessed state or what? He didn't knew, but there was neither the time to wonder about it.

Dependently on the women's lead, Blackmoore was going to either circle them as they slowed down or stopped for a breather - or follow from behind just like before. The male was going to keep his priorities straight and keep his guard up until they all were going to be safe.

Hopefully the border was close by now...

Vami can move Blackmoore like before.

and with a spark its going to be

Ravenna was slowing, her running going down to an amble as the lands around her grew more and more familiar (though not to say she didn't know the Drooping willows well in general) as the borders of her pack became nearer. She could smell the markers of her pack mates - of Leotie and Lilith, Blitz and Casanova, Adeltra and Enia, Koda and his son and of course, Sven. The smell of her pack mates eased her, knowing that they were near and because of this also knowing that the coyotes would be able to smell the wolf's borders too. Perhaps it would be enough to let them know that now they were outnumbered and didn't stand a chance. What was this chase for anyhow? What was the purpose of them tracking them down like this?

Then came Leotie, sprinting from the tree line of their home, all barks and snarls, loud in her charge in order to shake the coyote from their actions and place the attention towards her instead. The coyotes slowed, the two oldest ones on either side of Blackmoore and Ravenna keeping their placements spread out as they slowed to a stop, ready to dance back and away should Leotie be bold enough go get close to strike. The third, less experienced of the two took the middle between them, daring enough to come a little closer even then the others. Each coyote paced however, moving along the outskirts of the pack as though debating their next move. Surely they could not take on three adult wolves or push their lick going closer should move wolves arrive and yet still the scavengers for some reason felt the need to toy around a little longer, a mind game perhaps, something to try and break the wolves of their will.

Making it to the border, Ravenna quickly whipped back around to face those who had chased her down. She took a few paces back forth towards them if only to stand at the side of Leotie. She was panting from her run, sides heaving and she caught her breath. For the moment unable to snarl in protest but hoping that standing here would help keep the coyote at bay. Her silver eyes shifted between reach of her attackers and then falling to Blackmoore who had decided to circle around and stand at Ravenna's open side, a few paces forward and at an angle in front of the two pregnant females so that should any coyote charge he could be the first to intercept.

Blitz Mizuno
Warning: Mature language.

A change had occurred in the Mizuno. It had not been sudden nor out of the blue. Instead, it was a slow, gradual growth just like the swelling of life inside Ravenna's belly. He tightened his circuits of the border patrol, often not returning to the main den until well after sundown. When he wasn't busy doing that, he loomed over the silver mother to be or brought her a fresh catch to satisfy her appetite. He was quick to go on the defensive around the two lower ranking males, but his behavior was never threatening. Summed up, the wraith like male had grown fiercely protective over the woman who could very well be carrying his spawn.

Mid stride he paused, one large paw raised inches above the ground while his ears registered Ravenna's voice. And he didn't like the sound of it one bit. Such a tone could only mean trouble. Ceasing his patrol on the section of the border of which he was nearest, he bolted like a flying bullet in the direction of her call. By sheer luck alone, he had not been too far away. As he neared, the scene unfolded. Snarls and yips filled his ears, the smell of wolves and the stench of vermin. What he saw enraged him. Three coyotes, one smaller than the others, harassing Ravenna and another, unidentified male. Leotie was there too, for backup. Their behavior was bold...far too bold. Acid green eyes narrowed into slits, dark ears pricking forward in aggression. With a powerful roll of his chiseled shoulders and a snarl befitting that of an angry sea, he launched himself forward, in front of both pregnant females. "Ya little shit eatin pests! Get tha' fuck out before I line tha' den with yer hides!" He bellowed, his sea accent rolling forth as his temper flared. While the other male and the females seemed ready for a standoff, Blitz wasn't nearly as willing to show mercy. These coyotes were a direct threat to the unborn pups of the Ridge. They had to be eliminated. The large male charged at the coyote closest to their border, the largest of the three. Jaws agape and aimed for the throat of the animal which had so foolishly crossed the Ridge wolves.

Leotie Rhys
not looking for some fairytale bliss

Against what she should have done Leotie raced out from the ridge borders to help her alpha and friend. She could see clearly that Ravenna needed the help and she was the first one on the scene. Racing out barking, snarling, and snapping at the coyote's she hoped to scare them off. She needed to get them away from Ravenna. Once Ravenna had passed her she covered her as the silver woman continued to the border. She knew safety was there and it was there she needed to be once her friend was safe.

She didn't have time to question or worry about the unfamiliar male though she had seen that he seemed to be doing okay on his own. Finally when she and Ravenna had come close enough to the border she turned to face any coyotes that dare come closer. Backup arrived in the form of Blitz who seemed to be looking for blood as he went after the scavengers.

Leotie stood her ground ready to defend her alpha and her home. They didn't have long until the pups were going to come and they needed to make sure there wasn't the threat of coyotes looming over them during a time they should be cherishing because they were first time mother's.

Blackmoore Northcrest

Mercy has not been on the male's mind as the dark male circled the women to protect the silvery woman from her more exposed side. Right there, right now - Blackmoore had been tempted to rush forward and give those curs some of their own medicine - yet the man had held back. For a simple reason, which was that he'd seen the bigger picture. The male wasn't going to gamble with anyone's lives just to indulge himself a little bit by attempting to get some revenge on pests that have ruined his pleasant reunion with Ravenna. And surely he wasn't going to even think of gambling anything when lives of the unborn, times two, had been added to the equation. Sure, it would be easy to let it loose. Go for a charge with a false illusion that coyotes will break off as soon as he'll catch one of them. Hope you'll be fast enough to startle them enough. But the easiest road wasn't for him. What would happen if his calculations were wrong? What would happen if even just one of those coyotest ignored him and went for Ravenna and her friend? What would happen if one of them got kicked in the belly, or worse? No. He wasn't going to risk any of that.

He couldn't risk any of that.

The man had let out a low growl, as his eyes locked onto one of the scoundrels that was the closest, before switching weight on his paws and turning towards the pest. The coyote stopped, but his eyes had clearly seen something akin to a grin that came up upon the vermin's maw, triggering him to take a sudden step forward as the vulture jolted back in surprise. The male have almost grinned to himself afterwards - but his gaze have quickly switched to a different ccreature that tried to come closer. The vermin have quickly stopped however, in response to a furious growl that did come from behind him - announcing to the male that another wolf like him have arrived. The towering male have shifted around to face the other coyote as the stranger bellowed his hate-filled words before surprising him with a sudden charge.

The ever changing odds have shifted in their favor with the new arrival, so upon seeing a dark shadow passing the corner of his left eye - Blackmoore have lunged forward. Slightly behind the stranger, he'd noticed how the spirit have left the smirking scoundrels as they begun turning away to jolt back into the drooping willows. One of them however, the biggest one - had been forced to do something else instead, as Blitz have charged straight at him. Unfortunately for the vermin, with a jump like that - the creature had no momentum behind it's movement to repeat the feat once more. It's only chance would be to try turn itself towards the other wolf that followed, Blackmoore however have already launched himself from behind Blitz - with jaws agape, aiming for the neck...

Soon his maw was full of blood.

I kept the ending vague since I really struggled with writing that day. But as me and Trix spoke, it should be fatal for that one yote.

Mature wording warning.

and with a spark its going to be

There was a very obvious stand off between the three wolves and the three coyote. Obviously the wolves were much larger, even Leotie who was the leanest of the group. Though the fact that the two women were pregnant mist have made the coyote think that still had so sort of chance against them or perhaps now that had no intention of a fight but just to toy with the wolves.

The balance would shift however at the arrival of another wolf who charged onto the scene, all snarls, his thickly accented words snapping off at the vermin before them as he stood in a protective manner in front of the two pregnant women in the same manner Blackmoore did. Blitz had a smart mouth about him, a bold and daring attitude though it was all a part of something Ravenna had come to enjoy, for he was only and ever always respectful of her and Sven's leadership and loyal to a fault. He had no qualms with getting into a tussle with these coyote and while Blackmoore stood at a Guardian, Blitz took the warrior's placement in front line.

He charged forth and it seemed enough to startle and break up the posse and in that split section of realizing their retaliation and that the wolves had the upper paw, Blackmoore followed suit. Ravenna kept to Leotie's side, pressing to it even got comfort to Leotie and to herself. Though her silver eyes remained on the fight before her, a snarl on her face, hair along her spine standing on end.

It only seemed like it took seconds to take down that one coyote, the largest of the group as the scent of blood overwhelmed Ravenna's senses. The hair along her back rested, her head and ears lifting high in curious manner. Was it over with? "Was that fucking crazy or what?" She spoke with a deep breath, her eyes shifting between her brethren.

Blitz Mizuno

The coyote he had targeted, on the receiving end of his fury, proved to be a spry little imp. Startled, it twisted, forced to turn straight towards the waiting jaws of Blackmoore. His own acidic eyes glinted with glee. They had the mongrel now! In a flash it was all over as blood pooled from the fatal neck wound. Approvingly he glanced towards the stranger who had dealt the final blow. "We'll skin it. No use wasting a perfectly good pelt for the future cubs." He peeled his eyes away momentarily to glare back towards the two retreating coyotes, posturing threateningly. They kept moving, until they were two specks in the distance.

Satisfied that the Ridge wolves had made their strength clear, Blitz turned to the limp body. Pinching his teeth around the tail, and weighting the body down with one large paw, he painstakingly began to tug. His teeth slid methodically just under the skin, taking great care not to snag or tear the fur and hide. It was a messy job as blood splattered over his maw, darkening it. But it was one he reveled in, stripping this vermin of it's lush coat after it had dared to threaten his pack. Should the stranger offer any assistance he wouldn't shun it, but he was set on this one final task. Once finished, with a shake of his head, he let the pelt drop to the ground and circled back to the women. Tail waving high in confidence, he swept around each of them, combing them over visually to make sure not a single hair was out of place. "Are you both alright?" The answer was obvious. "That was not exactly something I expected. Those coyotes were much too bold for comfort."

not looking for some fairytale bliss

Facing off with the Coyotes wouldn't normally scare the Agouti woman, she would fight them to the death if she had to. She was scared now though, what if they pursued the wolves further and it came down to her and Ravenna having to fight? What would happen to the litters they each carried inside them, the future of the ridge grew inside them. Ravenna was safe at her side which was some comfort but more came in the form of an angry Blitz. Charging the coyotes and speaking language that made it clear he wasn't happy.

Soon she and Ravenna stood and watched as the strange wolf and Blitz took the coyotes on, a fight breaking out. Blood was shed and in the midst of it she felt the Ravenna's side against hers a reminder that she was there and as safe as they could be. Her hackles remained raised from what had transpired before as she watched the two males. Moments later one of the coyotes had been taken down and the others seemed to have gotten the message. It was only then that Leotie allowed herself to relax. “Crazy for sure, what's gotten into them?” She didn't understand it.

Her gaze had remained on Blitz as he dropped the pelt he'd stripped from the scavenger. Soon he was in front of them and checking to see if she and Ravenna were alright. “Yeah, I think so. You showed up just in time.” Her eyes then shifted to the stranger wondering what would become of him once they decided to head back into the safety of their home.

Blackmoore Northcrest

The hold wasn't perfect, but it was good enough. Good enough to kill that is, as male's jaws tightened upon the neck of the unfortunate coyote, filling his maw with hot blood. The creature wiggled frantically for a short while before it gave in with a loud and uncomfortable crunch that echoed in Blackmoore's head for a short moment before the dark male have finally realized that he'd was holding a bloody rag at this point - only by mere coincidence resembling a coyote. Or at least that's what the man have told himself in silence of his mind, as he'd dropped the rag-doll down upon the earth. Only then, the man could have inspect the kill with a very judgmental look, as his green eyes fell upon the creature only to realize he'd almost missed the neck entirely as his jaws fell upon the crest, a place from which the neck originated. In short - it had not been the cleanest of kills in Blackmoore's eyes. But the result had been achieved, as the male's green eyes had moved up from the carcass and stared upon the remaining coyotes. One of them looked back, almost stoping in shock upon loosing a friend perhaps. Nevertheless, the message had been sent.

And there was one more coming...

The other male had brought his attention as the man closed in, with an approving gaze. Blackmoore wasn't sure what it was for, or rather - he didn't deemed his deed as worthy of appreciation. He just did what anyone would do in his place, no matter would the object of this rabid attack was someone he'd liked or not. After all, it had been in his nature to help and protect others - pregnant or not. Though he'd would had to admit that considering the latter, there had been no choice left to him, them, but the lethal option considering the circumstances... The stranger spoke, expressing his desire to skin the assailant off his fur - to use as a den warmer. At first Blackmoore have almost winced painfully as a thought of such barbarism have sunk through his ears and got processed in his head. The male however had kept a poker face as his gaze gone a little more stern for a second before changing to a lighter expression as the male nodded before stepping away from the kill. "I'm not sure it's perfect, considering where I broke his neck - but..." The male have looked over his right shoulder towards Blitz that was descending upon the coyote already, grinning briefly as he'd looked even more back - upon the coyotes that stopped on the edge of the forest visible to all of them. "Please be my guest. It should convey a very clear message to those vermin upon what happens when you go after our kin." The man spoke with a hint of Machiavellian pragmatism, loud enough to be heard by everyone gathered before stepping off towards the women.

They weren't far, obviously, so his ears could tell exactly how much of the skinning had been done at any time. Thus he did not looked back for now, knowing exactly that he'll get his fill once it will be time to move the carcass away from the border - so the other coyotes could smell it and find it to their horror. Hopefully it should do the trick, at least for a while... As the male closed in to the women, he'd almost tried to smile but the dark male had refrained from doing so - realizing it wouldn't look exactly as he'd would want it to look like. After all, droplets of blood were still dribbling down from his maw at this point. His ears managed to catch the last words of their conversation before he'd stopped in front of the two. "I don't know what got into them, but it's not the first time I see something like this." He added, as he looked on the smaller female before turning back to Ravenna. "Few nights ago a stranger and I were attacked too inside the sacred grove. The mongrels weren't so persistent however, as they tried to jump on two healthy males after all..." An uncontrollable brief smile crept on his maw upon the reference to an earlier conversation as he'd spoke about the events that transcended a few nights ago. Where @Garmir and he had to flee from a similar band of coyotes...

Soon after these words, his ears told him that the other male stepped away from the carcass with his trophy. In just mere seconds Blitz have joined them, causing the bigger male to look to the side upon his work. "It still needs cleaning." He'd spoke with a pretty neutral tone in response to strands of flesh still hanging from from the pelt. "But the message had been sent. Let's hope they will stay away... for now." For now Blackmoore have not mentioned his suspicions that the mongrels would not even dare to cross the border of the willow ridge, so he neither gave any reaction to the praise that the other man had been awarded by the smaller mother-to-be. For now at least.

One more round and we can fade it I think. Unless we get into a debate icly xD

Ravenna Archer-Lyall
Sounds good to me. This can be the closing post for Ravenna.

and with a spark its going to be

The silvery haired matriarch remained in her placement by her second's side, watching as the two men took out the coyote that had not been lucky enough to turn tail and run whilst he had the chance. She would have entered the fray herself had it not been for her pregnancy and she grumbled because of it. Whilst she already felt she loved the children brewing inside of her she also felt like she was unable to fully display herself as a Leader in this situation, unable to take up the fight with her pack mates. Having had a role as a 'combat medic' for some time she was used to both getting into scraps and healing those in need after the fight was over with, be it with coyote, badgers or even when Adeltra had gotten sliced by a bear. Right now standing on the sidelines was most unbecoming of her but the reasoning for it was a good one, at least. She could no longer be just a fighter, a medic and a Leader, she was now a mother as well.

The fight was quick to end with two large male wolves ripping apart one unfortunate coyote. In moments he was dead, the smell of blood so sudden and the fight over so quickly she blinked hard at the realization. Furious was Blitz who had become more protective over Ravenna and dominant over the males under him which was all savor Sven himself. Ravenna could not help the satisfied smirk which touched her features as she looked over her black seaborn friend.

By now Blackmoore was side stepping away from the kill and Blitz was tugging where the fur and flesh was torn from Blackmoore's bite. He held the coyote in place, tugging as he peeled back the skin of the vermin. Ravenna's eyes watched a moment before moving to Blackmoore as he came over to them. He explained that this was not the first time he had come across coyotes approaching them and how they had done so when he was in the Grove as well. Ravenna took the information with a nod silently and wondering what had gotten the coyotes to do such a thing and how it seemed so many had come about. After all, there did not seem any dire lack of food in the area though Ravenna expected less so now with how many coyote were in the area.

By now Blitz had come and circled around them in order to make sure they had not been harmed, covered with blood so much as Blackmoore now after stripping the coyote of his skin and fur. Certainly having a skinned coyote at their border would do some good to ward off some of the other vermin from the area. "Fine Blitz, thank you." She spoke with a smile as she eyed the bloodied black wolf. He had been quick to come to her aid when called upon, something which she would not forget. Then, to the mention of the pelt as Blackmoore commented on it. "Of course. It can be washed in the creek and set it out to dry for a few days." By then it should be all good to lay down in the dens in order for the new pups to not only keep warm in but tug on the dried skins if they so wished in order to strengthen their jaws and their new puppy teeth as they grew. "We will need to report this to Sven, as well. I think we need to get the word out in the Pack that it is too dangerous to be going out beyond the borders alone while this plague is going around." She spoke, her eyes shifting to Leotie and Blitz and then side stepping, finding herself moving towards the deeper part of her home. She was done here and by now the soon to be mother had grown quite tired.

Pausing in her placement, a single paw lifted and her head turned back to look at Blackmoore. Her head tilts just a bit, looking curiously as though wondering if he would come with. "I think, for safety purposes," She said with a smirk, "You should stay with us." Besides, he had said that he had come down here in the south specifically to seek her out, did he not? Using the safety of the pack was just a bonus and having another able guardian around the pack certainly could do the ranks good.
