It was nice to think of meeting up with his mother and father one day. He hoped that he would but what if they had left the lore in search of Arwyn and they was why the notch was no longer there. The near yearling didn't like to think about things like that. He did turn his head to look at his companion after his comment. “I’m sure there is someone out there,” he half teased. Elyan was quite sure that there was someone out there that didn't really want to meet either of them, it was just how life was.

The former notch pup could feel his stomach growling was they continued on the hunt. He was sure about the tracks but they ended up not being anything very big. It was something of a disappointment but at least it would he food. They couldn't be very choosy with it still being winter and all. Yet again he found his brow raising at Aurek's words. “I can hardly imagine you being tyrannical,” he said before putting his nose to the ground to start tracking their meal.

"I still need to practice that tyranny part, but I'll get there." -Aurek promised with a playfur smirk. He almost pushed Elyan's muzzle into snow but opted at last moment not to do it since it might ruin the hunt. Time for play would be later.

The pale boy scanned his surroundings while his friend nosed the ground. There was no need for him to stick his nose down as well if his friend was already occupying that field. He could instead try to focus on sounds and surroundings on other fronts. "Is it recent?" -he asked while his ears continued scanning. It sounded like there was something moving under the snow near them. Maybe cause for the earlier mysterious snow rolls?

"I think there are mice tunneling under the snow... though i'd prefer hare"

“You might need a lot of practice,” he only have joked. Aurek was a nice guy which left Elyan wondering if he could get tyrannical. The former notch pup was a little worried if that was Aurek's goal but he would wait and see what would happen.

The tracks that he found seemed promising to Elyan as he followed them. Though it wasn't anything huge it was something that they could maybe share. Having something in his belly was much better than nothing. “A few hours maybe,” he said lifting his head to look at Aurek for a moment before returning to his tracking. The lessons if his father always in the back of his mind as he hunted.

“I think we will skip the mice, they will only make us hungrier. We should come upon our prey soon enough.” He had no doubt in his mind.

Aurek did not reply to tyranny remark in words, only grinning at his friend with a playful look on his face instead. Who knew, he might attack Elyan tonight to practice some of this tyranny - no harm intented of course. Aurek never really laid his teeth on friend even if he might challenge him into wrestling every now and then.

But that was for later. Right now, the two were getting hungry and meal was still not found and caught. The trail was promising enough and Aurek agreed they should follow it. He nodded in aknowledgement and followed his companion, keeping his eyes and ears open while Elyan was focusing on the trail.

"By the way.. I think Lorcan would like you." -He whispered, somewhat round about returning back to their earlier topic.

Several coyote abandoned a half-eaten deer. But before you can take a bite they reappear.

If Elyan were honest he didn't want to see the day that Aurek became Tyrannical if it did ever happen. Having been raised by a man like his father he found it hard to imagine such a situation. In fact he didn't want to and wanted to push the conversation aside and concentrate on the hunt. It was a topic for another day. Having learned from his father Elyan wouldn't ignore the signs.

He tail waved over his back as he continued in the trail of the rabbit. His mind wandered back to the day his father had taught him to hunt rabbits. He remembered it almost perfectly and his experience that day taught him that they were getting close. His pace slowed so that they wouldn't suddenly come across it and scare their dinner away.

His ear perked at the whisper that came from Aurek, “Why do you say that?” He asked when his companion told him that he thought Lorcan would like him. He was curious since he'd never met the man his father had spoken of.

OOC: By the way, feel free to powerplay Aurek for sake of progressing the hunt. I suppose we are ignoring the coyotes? :D

Aurek did not of course want to ruin their hunt by excessive chatter, but he replied shortly to his friend; "You are pretty smart. Resourceful and bit of an adventurer. You are like young Lorcan now that I think of it."

At least the above was the impression Aurek had of Lorcan, the young wolf completely oblivious to his less known blunders and misadventures. Aurek was kind of a fanboy of his uncle and naturally the image he had of his hero was bit glorified. Still, the fact the pale boy found Elyan worthy comparison to him was sign of respect and admiration he had towards his friend.

But now they were getting distracted from the hunt. Aurek nudged his friend to continue, reminding him what they were supposed to be doing. "...Anyway, lets continue. Im getting really hungry and your ass is starting to look edible" -He jested.

We are ignoring the coyotes since the thread started a couple weeks before they arrived.

The grey boy couldn't help but be curious about why Aurek thought Lorcan would like him. He'd never met the man so he couldn't say himself and only go off what his father had said about him. He glanced at his companion as he listed off the traits that made his friend think what he did and it seemed that he was a lot like Lorcan when he was younger. “Hopefully that will give us something to talk about when we do meet.” Adventures were always good to talk about.

If he ever did get the chance to meet the man he expected that his relationship to Emrys to play s role in it too. A thought did come to the young Myrddin though, he wondered if Lorcan might know what happened to the notch.

“Yes of course, it should be just up here,” he said ignoring the comment about his rear she crouched low and crept toward a low hanging branch that would conceal them well. “Look there,” he whispered and indicating with his muzzle. Just through the trees the rabbit was searching through the some.

Aurek followed Elyan's lead and true enough their soon to be meal - if all went according to plan. As Elyan pointed at the target, Aurek silently leaned to the side a little to see the hare. He grinned at the prospect of soon having something to eat - even if it was just a bunny split in two. He whispered to Elyan now in reply. "How you wish to progress?" - it was his friend's turn to lead after all.

They could move ahead and just try to catch the hare head on.. or one of them could circle around and chase the hare towards the other wolf. Those two options were least the plans that right away came to the pale boy's mind.

While the hunt was certainly not over the searching part was. There just through the trees was what they had been sniffing for the entire time. The hare was searching through the snow most likely looking for food and at that point unaware that they were watching it. As long as they could keep it from noticing them for as long as possible they would have a good chance. They couldn't mess this up, they were both hungry.

He was watching the movements of the little beast as Aurek spoke. Before he answered he thought about the options of how they could catch it. “I think we need to get as close as possible before we strike. Then maybe one of us runs it toward the other.” It seemed the best way to preserve the energy they did have and would hopefully end the chase as quickly as possible.
